Chapter 35: Dont Touch Me, Roland Francois

Chapter 35: Don''t Touch Me, Rnd Francois

She looked at him with pain in her eyes.

    Rnd frowned and looked away.

Alvera smiled. "Since we''re chatting, can I ask you a question?"

    "Go ahead."

"When did you start going out with Andrina?"

    "What do you mean?"

    "Your rtionship."

He thought for a moment. "Four years ago."

Four years ago... she hated that year.

"Why were you attracted to her?"

"She has a great body." He raised his eyebrows, not at all shy about the topic.

"Alright," Alvera said disdainfully. "All men are the same. You like a woman''s body, simple as that."

"What do you know?" He nced at her coldly. "I started going out with her because of guilt."

    ...

Guilt? Alvera sensed something unusual going on.

"What do you mean by guilt?" she asked.

Rnd continued to re at her coldly as he walked to the sofa and sat down.

She shifted ufortably under his gaze. "You don''t have to tell me if you don''t want to."

"I was drugged. Andrina lost her virginity to me."

Alvera was shocked for a moment.

So Rnd''s love for Andrina was all based upon guilt.

She looked at him for a while, theny down.

    "What? The conversation''s over?"

Alvera turned over and looked at him. "Is there anything else you want to talk about?"

"When did you know you could save Andrina?" he asked.

Alvera smiled. "I thought I answered thatst time."

"Your weren''t honest then," he said. "I want your full honesty."

Alvera''s expression was cold as she said sadly, "I''ve always known. My mother had always told me that

I''m the backup organ supplier for Andrina. Anything she needs, blood, liver, even my life, I have to give

    unconditionally."

"Is it true that you were raised by the Earhart family when you were young?"

    Alvera nodded. "Yes, it''s true."

"Then why did you push Andrina off the stairs four years ago?" he asked. "You grew up with her. What

    made you do that?"

    Alvera''s heart sank.

She was quiet for some time before looking at him with a smile. "It''s been so long, I can''t remember

that. Mr Francois, it''s time for bed, I''m tired."

Rnd studied the sadness in her expression, suddenly feeling sad for her himself.

He watched as she closed her eyes and turned her back to him.

He did not insist on her answer.

At least she had been much more honest tonight than she had ever been with him.

Rnd stayed with her every night for the six days she was hospitalized.

For a fleeting moment, Alvera actually had the impression that he was not as bad as she had thought.

Unfortunately, he was, and he proved it to her all too soon.

    ...

Rnd did not turn up when she left the hospital, because Andrina was also discharged on the same

    day.

He had gone to pick up Andrina.

Samuel helped her with the paperwork and sent her home.

As Alvera walked towards the door, she noticed that someone had put up several CCTVs around the

    house.

The path leading from the entrance of her house to the beach was also lined with streemps that

    weren''t there before.

She was surprised. Who would do this?

    ...

In the house, Becky had prepared a lot of nutritious food for her.

Alvera said with a smile, "Becky, do you know who set up the CCTVs outside?"

"The people who installed them said Terry arranged it," Becky said. "They came the day before

    yesterday."

If it''s Terry, then he must have done it under Rnd''s orders.

Becky had a son who was in his final year in high school, so Alvera let Becky leave in the evening so

that she could go home and care for him.

    ...

After Becky left, the vi felt empty and lonely.

Alvera finished her shower and went to her room alone.

Shey on the bed, turned on herptop, put on her earphones and started watching a foreign movie.

Outside, Rnd rang the doorbell. He could see light in the upstairs window, but no one answered the

    door.

He opened the door with his key and went upstairs.

He pushed open the bedroom door gently and saw Alveraughing delightfully on the bed.

Rnd crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway, watching her.

After finishing the movie, she turned off herptop.

As she got out of bed to put it on the table, she suddenly saw the figure standing in the doorway.

Shocked, she screamed and backed away as theptop fell out of her grip andnded on the ground.

When she finally realized that it was Rnd, she asked despondently, "Why are you standing there?

    You scared me."

    ...

She bent over, picked up theptop, and turned it on to check on it.

    Thankfully, it was not broken.

Rnd walked in with both hands in his pockets.

"You were wearing your earphones. You wouldn''t have heard me even if I knocked."

Alvera cast a nce at him. "Why are you here?"

Rnd looked at her with annoyance. "Why do you ask me that every time I''m here? This is my house

too, you know. I cane and go as I please."

"This is my house," she said firmly. "Don''t get that wrong, Mr. Francois.

"You''re my wife, so this house is mine too," he replied, walking towards the bathroom.

Alvera followed him. "Rnd, can you follow the terms of the contract? This is not a real marriage..."

While she was talking, he had already taken off his clothes. He nced back at her. "I''m going to take

a bath. Are youing with me, or would you rather stay out here?"

She gritted her teeth in frustration. "Is there no water in your own house?"

He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her into the bathroom. "Since you like to chat with me, we can

take this bath together while talking."

She pulled away from his grip hastily and red at him. "I''ve already showered."

She walked out of the bathroom and mmed the door loudly.

Rnd smirked. She had a bad temper.

Alvera red at the bathroom door, angry and confused.

She thought he would be with Andrina today since she was discharged from the hospital this morning.

It was hard toprehend what he was thinking.

She packed her things and went straight to the next room.

Just as she was about to sleep, the door was pushed open from the outside again.

She should have locked the door.

Alvera sat up and looked at Rnd. "What else do you need, Mr. Francois?"

    "What do you think?"

He strode over to the bed and sat down.

Alvera frowned. "Are you going to sleep here tonight?"

    "Of course, we''re married."

    "It''s a fake marriage."

"The title is there, Alvera, and we''ve also done the deed. It doesn''t matter whether it''s fake or not now."

He pulled her pillow behind him and said, "Go to sleep."

Alvera frowned and sighed. "Rnd, what the h*ll are you doing?"

"What did I do?" He raised his eyebrows, his expression rxed and pleasant.

Alvera shifted away from him, her expression serious. "Why do you keep provoking me? You told me

yourself you would never fall in love with me, and I would never love you either. What''s the point of

keeping up the act like this?"

    ...

"Keeping up the act?" Rnd nodded, "You''re not wrong. I''ve told you many times before, you were the

one who started this. I''ve also told you not to regret it. Do you really think you still have the upper hand

    in this game?"

Alvera bit her lips and looked at him. "It''s not only the fake marriage. We''re also enemies. Do you really

not know that, or are you just pretending? I hate the Earhart family. I''m doing all this to get back at

    them."

"I don''t care about your grudge with the Earhart family. You started it, you don''t get to back out now. I''m

punishing you. Or rather, I''m punishing you on behalf of Andrina."

Alvera took a deep breath, trying to control her anger.

"Forget it," she thought. There was no point arguing with him about menial stuff like this.

Sheid back down, pulled the nket over herself, and turned her back to him.

Rnd smirked. "You''re probably wondering why I''m doing this for Andrina."

    Alvera frowned but said nothing.

"Andrina asked me why I married you this morning."

Alvera froze for a moment. That''s what he meant by punishment.

She closed her eyes and did not respond.

"Alvera, do you know what is your biggest weakness?"

    Alvera said nothing.

Rnd said, "You''re not honest enough. Because of this, you''re losing out on a lot of opportunities."

A flicker of anger rose in him when Alvera continued to ignore him. "Are you not going to tell me why

    you told Andrina about this?"

"No specific reason why. I just don''t like her," she answered.

Rnd sneered. She was not taking him seriously.

He leaned to one side, pulled her body over to face him, and hoisted himself over her.

"I''ll give you onest chance. Why did you tell Andrina?"

"Like I said, I just don''t like her. I want her to feel pain. I want her to die."

"You wicked woman." He gritted his teeth. He hated to see her so emotionless.

Alvera smiled. "You''ve known me for some time already. If I''m not wicked, why would I push her down

    the stairs four years ago?"

    "Shut up."

Alvera had no ns toply with him. "It''s unfortunate that I didn''t kill her that time," she continued.

"I told you to shut up."

"If she dies, then everything in the Earhart family would be mine. Thomas Earhart told you I''m

ungrateful, right? He''s not wrong, I have my eye on the Earhart fortune. I can''t wait for the day they go

bankrupt and end up on the streets."

His eyes hardened as he bent down to bite her lips.

Alvera began to struggle, but his grip was too strong.

    ..

She turned her face away and avoided his kiss.

    It didn''t stop him.

    "Don''t touch me, Rnd Francois!"

"Don''t touch you? Do you think just one night is worth 20 million dors? Alvera Earhart, you think too

highly of yourself. I paid for your body. If I want you, you do not have the right to refuse."
