Chapter40 Jeffery And Sarah

    Jeffery And Sarah

Jane ushered Sarah into her room and was about to bring her slippers when the other party walked

over to the table very naturally. "Jeffery''s appetite is very picky. I used to cook for him. He likes my

    cooking the most."

Jane didn''t say anything. She followed her and saw Sarah tasting the dishes with chopsticks. She even

said, "No, these dishes are not what Jeffery likes to eat. This dish is too salty. This one too, and what''s

this? The meat was overcooked, how can we eat it?"

Sarah frowned from beginning to end, and spat out after one dish. She tasted all the dishes made by

Jane, and finally turned her head with dissatisfaction and looked at Jane up and down like a hostess.

Looking at Jane''s face, she frowned more tightly and said unhappily. "What''s wrong with you? Didn''t

Nanny Wu and Aldred tell you about Jeffery''s hobbies and taste? Why are you a nanny? You don''t

    know how to cook."

"I''m sorry, I am the secretary of Mr. Jones. The housemaid has asked for leave these days. I am here

to take care of Mr. Jones''s life." Jane did not tell Sarah that she lived here. She did not know if this

woman was important to Jeffery, but she did not want to cause any misunderstanding or trouble.

"Forget it. Let me do it. I know what Jeffery likes best."

Sarah said as she poured all the food that Jane had prepared into the trash can. Then she went into

the kitchen and did not forget to greet Jane. "Don''t just stand there and learn to eat. Otherwise, if I''m

not with you, you can''t even take care of Jeffery''s daily life."

Jane stared at the dropped dishes without saying anything. She silently walked into the kitchen, stood

behind Sarah, watching her skillful and elegant operation.

Jane didn''t know whether it was because of her pride, but she felt that she was like an ugly duckling.

She was so elegant even when cooking, how could shepare with her?

No matter what aspects, she was unable topare with Sarah. She might be just a substitute that

Jeffery was looking for. Otherwise, she really could not figure out why Jeffery was so good to her for no

    reason.

"Jeffery has a light-vor, so you can''t put too much salt in his dishes. He doesn''t like sweet foods as

well, so don''t cook sweet potatoes, such as the stir-fried potato you made." As Sarah busied herself

with cooking, she did not forget to tell Jane about Jeffery''s preferences.

Jane felt ufortable when she heard this, but she still pretended to be serious. She couldn''t help

but ask, "Miss. Crowe has a good rtionship with Mr. Jones, and you knows Mr. Jones''s preferences

    so well."

Sarah turned and gave Jane a radiant smile. It was particrly dazzling in Jane''s eyes. Even with

Sarah''s following words, Jane felt like she was showing off.

"Yes, I have a good rtionship with Jeffery. He is willing to do anything for me. Every time I make him

unhappy, he won''t be angry with me as long as I act coquettishly."

Jane felt more and more panicked and unconsciously clenched her fists.

She felt more and more like a substitute. She had already been inferior and sensitive in this

rtionship, and now she would not like to listen to it.

Just as she was about to find an excuse to turn around and leave, there was a sound of door-opening.

It seemed that Jeffery had returned.

Just as she was about to go out to wee them, Sarah, who was beside her, had already stepped

out of the kitchen. She trotted to the door to wee him. "Jeffery, you''re back. I''ve been waiting for

    you for a long time."

As soon as Jeffery entered the door, he saw Sarah, and his face instantly cooled down. He put the food

bag aside and looked behind Sarah, and found that Jane was standing still in the distance.

Jane looked at Sarah, who came over and held Jeffery''s arm. Jeffery just nced and didn''t mean to

refuse her. The two stood together, looking like a perfect match.

Looking at this scene, Jane suddenly felt sad, as if her heart had been pricked by needles.

    "What are you doing here?"

Jeffery frowned and did not show too much enthusiasm to Sarah''s sudden appearance, even a little

    cold.

Sarah didn''t care about Jeffery''s reaction at all. She held his arm and said coyly, "Jeffery, I know you''re

still angry with me. I know I was wrong. I shouldn''t leave wilfully. Don''t be angry. I''m back."

Jeffery didn''t say anything. He just looked behind Sarah. Sarah turned back and realized that

something was wrong. Then she remembered that Jane was still there. She quickly said, "You can go

back first. I haven''t seen Jeffery for a long time. We still have something to say."

Jane looked at Jeffery, but he didn''t say anything.

She felt more suffocated in her heart. She lowered her head in silence, took off her apron, and ready to

go out. When she passed Jeffery and Sarah, her arm was pulled by Jeffery.

    "Where are you going?"

His actions stunned Jane and Sarah. Sarah looked at them in surprise and asked, "What are you

    doing, Jeffery?"

    Jeffery ignored her.

Sarah did not feel that she was being looked down upon at all. She grabbed his hand and said

coquettishly, "Alright, since I''ve already returned to your side, if you have anything needed, let me help

    you."

She then nced at Jane and said half-jokingly, "It''s time to get off work, and you don''t pay her

overtime. Just let her get off work early and don''t exploit the secretary."

However, Jeffery refused to let go.

"You go upstairs first. Don''te down if I don''t call you." He looked at Jane and ordered with a cold

tone. This tone was very simr to that in thepany, when he took her as his secretary''smand.

Jane saw his holding her wrist, and she pursed her lips and  hesitated about what to do.

Sarah, who was beside him, realized that there was something wrong with them. She asked with a

grievance, "Jeffery, what are you doing?"

"Go up first." Jeffery still ignored Sarah, but repeated to Jane what he had said.

Jane nodded and turned to go upstairs. As she was upstairs, Jeffery turned to Sarah and said. "If

there''s nothing, you can go back. Do note back again."

"I won''t go back." Sarah shook her head and looked at Jeffery with an aggrieved face. "How can you do

    this to me, Jeffery?"

"Don''t put on an act in front of me." Jeffery said coldly. It was obvious that he was already impatient.

Jane secretly looked down from the second floor and saw they were arguing about something. It was

too far away for her to hear clearly, but Sarah suddenly hugged Jeffery.

At the beginning, Jeffery should not be willing to do it. She also saw his dislike and evasion. Butter,

she didn''t know what Sarah said to him, and he stopped pulling her out. Sarah took the opportunity to

    hold his waist tightly.

Jane stood on the second floor, feeling more and more dazzling.

She remembered that Sarah had said that no matter what happened, Jeffery would agree as long as

she acted coquettishly. In short, she knew that her substitute''s life mighte to an end.
