CHAPTER 35


    6:00 pm Saturday, in Bosnia and Herzegovina


    12:00 am Sunday, in Asia


    Aliyah is still in her hometown but she is about to go back to the city by afternoon.


    Aliyah sent a message thiste afternoon to Almir-(Atif).


    She is wondering why until now she didn''t get any reply from him.


    Aliyah is still awake even at midnight.


    She can''t go to sleep, thinking why Almir didn''t reply to her messages.


    Aliyah can''t stop herself thinking that maybe he backed away because Almir didn''t reply to her


    message.


    Because of those thoughts Aliyah felt disappointed but nothing she can''t do if that would be the case.


    Because of that, Aliyah cannot help but think that she is a fool for trusting strangers.


    And she felt that she needed to give up the idea that Almir will help her in applying for that job.


    The bad side of her personality slowly poisoning her thoughts again that she needed to back away


    again.


    Aliyah is sleepy this time and gave up her hope that Almir will still reply to her message.


    She decides that she will no longer ask Almir about that matter again and maybe says goodbye to him


    if she finds out how this guy rted to Atif. Why this guy knew Atif. She wants to find out before saying


    goodbye to him.


    Now she falls asleep ignoring the thoughts about Almir.


    But at the back of her mind she still waits for Almir to reply.


    It is already evening when Atif reaches home.


    Their dinner is not yet ready so he decided to go up to his room first.


    He decided to take a shower first before eating dinner.


    He took off his coat and his phone dropped on the floor because it slipped out of his coat''s pocket.


    Atif picked his phone.


    And he noticed that there were some messagesing from Aliyah.

    He almost forgot to check his phone earlier.


    The message was sent early this morning.


    Now it''s already evening.


    Atif immediately opened the message and read.


    He hurriedly typed his reply for he feared that Aliyah would back out because he failed to reply to her


    messages earlier.


    Atif left the phone on his bed.


    He decided to go to the bathroom and take a shower while waiting for her reply.


    He took a shower for 25 minutes.


    When he goes out of the bathroom he immediately checks his phone to see if Aliyah replied.


    But he didn''t get any reply from her.


    Atif decided to go down to the dining area and join his family in eating dinner.

    Haris didn''t ask anything about Atif''s business trip. Anyway he is not interested whatsoever because he


    didn''t interested in any property that Mr. Omerdic is selling.


    Haris just used that business trip as an excuse so that Atif can''t participate in yesterday''spany''s


    meeting that''s why he sent Atif to check that matter.


    Atif felt a relief when his grandfather didn''t ask anything about his trip. It only means that his


    grandfather is not really interested in that matter. So it means he can do what he wants-his revenge to


    Monika and Aleksa -without anyone to interfere.


    Atif can''t help himself to smile.


    And that smile was noticed by his stepmother Sara because Atif is sitting opposite to her on the dining


    table.


    "Son, what’s the reason behind that smile?"


    Sara asked Atif why he was smiling.


    And when Atif heard Sara''s voice he was surprised and his spoon and fork slipped on his hand and


    dropped on the crystal te.


    The spoon and fork made a loud sound that got the attention of everyone.


    Atif''s face blushed because he was slightly embarrassed. When he managed topose himself he


    answered Sara''s question.


    "Nothing Mother." Atif said while picking up the ss of water and drink.


    "Nothing? You won''t smile like that for nothing." Jasmin teases Atif.


    Atif just gave him a nce and said nothing.


    "Maybe the reason for that smile was Aliyah." Haris said.


    Atif was shocked when he heard his grandfather talk about Aliyah.


    Atif felt like he was frozen on his seat.


    He was afraid that his grandfather would get angry again and warned him not to waste his time chatting


    to Aliyah.


    Why on earth would his grandfather think that is the reason why he is smiling a while ago?


    Atif forced himself to talk and clear it to his grandfather that Aliyah has nothing to do with that.


    "No Grandfather. She has nothing to do with that. It''s just that I got a good deal about business and it


    crossed my mind a while ago and I can''t help but smile." Atif exined.


    “s! I thought she was the reason." Haris eximed and snapped his fingers whileughing.


    Atif was so surprised about his grandfather''s statement and behavior.


    Atif can''t say anything as if his tongue was snatched out of his mouth.


    “So Grandfather you mean it''s much better if she is the reason behind Atif''s smile right? Hana asked


    the old man while alsoughing.


    "Yes! And Why not." Haris answered while smiling and looking at Atif.


    "Tsk! Tsk! I thought a while ago that Atif is in love." Mateo saidughing and kidding to Atif.


    "Atif, can I ask you? If you don''t mind? Sara said.


    "Yes, Mother. What is it?” Atif said in a low voice.


    “Do you like Aliyah to be your wife?" Sara asked.


    “What?!" Atif said.


    Atif doesn''t know what to say now that''s why instead of answering his stepmother question he just


    answers a question also in return.


    Then Atif looked down on his te and continued eating.


    He doesn''t want to raise his eyes to meet the look in their eyes that seems they are waiting for his


    answer to that question.


    He is wondering why his adoptive family behaves like that at this moment.


    There are many questions running into Atif''s mind.


    First, why suddenly his grandfather''s mood changes like he allowed him to chat with Aliyah whilest


    time he warned him not to waste time chatting with Aliyah.


    Second, why is his father thinking that he is in love? Am I really in love?


    Yes he has feelings for Aliyah but he is not sure if it could be love or they are just falling for the deepest


    friendship.


    Third, why is his stepmother asking if he likes Aliyah to be his wife?


    Atif takes a deep breath because he never understands what is going on.


    Then he heard his grandfather talking again.


    "Atif, why don''t you answer your mother''s question? Haris said.


    When Atif heard his grandfather''s question he nced at his grandfather then said;


    “I don''t know. Even if I want, it''s too impossible to happen. I know you won''t allow me because


    ording to you I am just allowed to marry a woman who belongs to the society where we belong." Atif


    said.


    “You wrong Atif. In fact I''ll do a background check of her just for you to know her better." Haris answers.


    Atif''s eyes widened when he heard his grandfather''s answer.


    "You do that? And what did you find out about her background that made you decide to allow her to be


    my wife. Are you still kidding me?" Atif asked in disbelief.


    Atif feels that his phone in his pocket vibrates.


    He pulled it immediately to see if a reply came from Aliyah.


    "Kidding aside! What our grandfather said is true." Jasmin said while smiling.


    "Atif, Jasmin is right. I''m not kidding." Haris said in a serious voice.


    “Sorry to inform you even if you will allow me. It''s toote. She doesn''t want to talk to me anymore. I


    made a new ount using different name just tomunicate with her again but I received another


    goodbye from her. I received another block." Atif said.


    Atif smiled even though he felt the pain inside.


    Then he holds his phone up facing them to make them see what Aliyah said to him on her chat.


    Aliyah''s message said.


    “Thanks for your kindness but I''m not interested inmunicating with you anymore. Goodbye."


    Then at the end of the chat there is a notification that said. “You cannot reply to this conversation.

    So it means that Aliyah blocks Atif again.


    Atif can no longer talk to her again.


    “Ouch!" Jasmin eximed andughed in exasperation when he read Aliyah''s message.


    He did that to make the conversation light because he knew that Atif was hurt with what Aliyah''s said


    and done.


    Atifughed this time as an answer to that Jasmin expression.


    Atifughs because he is trying to hide the pain he felt inside.


    While Hana suddenly eximed.


    “Don’t worry little brother. She will be yours in the next few months. I assure you." Hana said with a


    wide smile on her face.


    Atif justughed more this time without saying a word.


    Then after a few minutes their dinner was over.


    After their dinner Atif immediately goes up to his room.
