Chapter 49: You Like Him, Dont You?

Chapter 49: You Like Him, Don''t You?

Chow never expected that Vivian would answer him like that. There was some element of surprise in

    his anger.

Before he could say anything, however, Celine quickly ced a kiss on Chow''s cheek. "Alright then, I''m

sure that Ran will send her home safely. Let''s go!"

As she spoke, Celine pulled him towards their car that the valet had brought to them.

Chow didn''t want Vivian and Ran to leave together, but there was nothing he could do in this

    situation.

Moreover, Vivian had personally said that she would ept the ride from Ran. He couldn''t think of a

reason on the spot to separate Vivian from Ran without losing his cool.

If Vivian was the only one there, he would have already lost his temper.

However, after being provoked by Ran so many times tonight, it would be a huge blow to his ego if

he had to kick up a fuss for Vivian to return to his side.

As he was pondering, Celine had already pulled him to the side of their car whilst Vivian followed

    Ran to his car.

Just as the two of them entered the car and closed the door after them, Ran spoke to Vivian with a

soft chuckle. "I thought you wouldn''t dare to disobey him and still go back with him."

Vivian bit her lower lip and looked out through the window. She saw Chow getting into his car angrily,

mming the door shut after himself.

Indeed, she had been surprised by her own pluck and courage as the words left her mouth earlier.

She had never dared to disobey Chow''s orders before.

However, when she thought about how she would have to bear witness to Celine and Chow being

clingy with each other, it seemed like it getting scolded wasn''t such a big deal after all.

Vivian looked down at her hands that were tightly sped together. "Thank you," she whispered.

If Ran hadn''t been here today, she really didn''t know if she would have been able to hold out for so

long before she made it home safe and sound.

Ran smiled and started up the car, steering onto the driveway. "If you''re so afraid of him, why are

you still with him?" he asked quietly.

Vivian was stunned for a moment. It took a while for her to realise what he was trying to ask.

The colour drained from her face as she slowly formed an answer. "Because this was Uncle Dn''s

and Mum''sst wish. I have no other rtives. That was the only reason why Uncle Dn wanted

Brother Chow to take me in."

Once they were at afortable speed, Ran tapped his fingers against the steering wheel before

throwing out another question. "But why do you let him treat you like this? Is it because you''re afraid of

    him?"

Ran had seen how preciously Vivian treated the photo of her and Chow both together just this

morning. There was no way he didn''t know what Vivian thought of Chow.

Still, he wanted to hear her say it with her own words.

Vivian''s face turned even more pale with his invading questions.

She twisted her fingers nervously as her voice began to shake. "N-No, it''s because I owe him too

    much."

"You owe him too much?" Ran repeated in surprise, nodding only a while after. "Are you trying to

atone for your mother''s wrongdoings? Is that all?"

Even if Ran was Chow''s good friend, to Vivian, he was still a stranger whom she had met only a few

    times before.

What''s more, it seemed that they only kept meeting under the most unfavourable situations.

Why was a stranger like him suddenly so interested in her private matters?

Vivian usually didn''t have much of a temper, but she was slowly starting to get angry. She drew her lips

in a thin line and refused to answer.

Ran didn''t wait for her reply and followed up with another question. "Actually, you like him, don''t

    you?"

Vivian''s body shuddered deeply as she turned to look at him.

Ran didn''t seem to notice her gaze. He continued to look straight ahead. "Because you like him,

you''re willing to stay by his side him and suffer. I''m not wrong, am I?"

Vivian braced herself for Chow''s outburst of anger.

Despite the angry look in his eyes, however, Vivian was surprised when he didn''tsh out at her

    immediately.

    ...

Chow just grabbed her hand tightly and dragged her towards the main building in the Howard Mansion,

    his brows tightly locked together.

Vivian stumbled behind him, not even daring to gasp out loud.

Chow was behaving very abnormally tonight.

Even though his ring temper was always scary, it still wasn''t as terrifying as his silent anger.

Chow was behaving rather like a dormant volcano at the moment, ready to erupt at any time and im

    all its casualties.

Sure enough, as soon as he went upstairs into Vivian''s bedroom, he mmed the door shut behind

    him.

    Bam!

    ...

The loud bang sent a deep shiver down Vivian''s spine. Her heart shuddered in fright.

However, before she could even feel terrified, Chow grabbed her shoulders tightly.

She didn''t understand why Chow would suddenly be so scary. She could feel the tears springing

    in her eyes.

    "Brother Chow!"

She cried out in a low voice.

The storm in Chow''s eyes kept umting until it all finally exploded at her. "Why did you go to the

    cafe with him?"

Vivian was shocked. She briefly remembered the rather ambiguous words Ran had said to her while

    they were at the cafe.

"Don''t you want to know where you stand in his heart?" Ran had asked her.

Even thinking about it at such a tense moment made her heart tremble violently.

Although she didn''t know what Ran was up to, she btedly realised that she should never have

told Chow anything about Ran asking her to ''test'' those sentences on him.

As her brain scrambled to form a coherent thought, she didn''t realise that she''d already been silent for

    a few seconds.

The slight pause was enough to make Chow''s anger grow tenfold.

He gripped Vivian''s shoulder even tighter, his sharp eyes boring straight into Vivian. "How hard is it for

you to even think of a reason? What sort of ame excuse are you trying to think of now?"

Thinking that Vivian was indeed trying to make up an excuse, Chow got even angrier at her. "Vivian,

are you really that stupid to seduce other men right in front of my eyes?"

His condescending words sent an arrow straight through Vivian''s heart. Even the tiniest bit of hope in

    her had vanished.

    "I didn''t do it..."

It was a weak rebuttal. There was nothing else Vivian could think of saying other than these four words.

Because of her mother, she had had too many crimes pinned onto her that she didn''t evenmit.

She could never escape from them. It was her original sin.

She was innocent. She hadn''t done anything wrong other than being born.

However, with the anger and jealousy clouding his eyes, Chow was beyond reasoning. "Don''t you dare

let me catch you seeing him ever again!"

Vivian gripped the sheets under her body and nodded in fright as she bit her lips hard.

If it wasn''t for the fact that Ran was Chow''s good friend, she would never have had any interaction

with him, much less befriended him in private.

But now, she was so heartbroken she could hardly breathe.

It wasn''t because she was forbidden to see Ran again.

It was because of Chow''s irrational anger and overbearing attitude.

To him, she was nothing but a puppet. She didn''t even have any human rights.

She thought of the gentle smile Chow showed Celine and felt more tears umting in the corners of

    her eyes.

She looked like she was trying her best not to cry. Chow suddenly looked stunned.

There seemed to be something else stirring amongst the raging anger in his heart.

Chow narrowed his eyes at her. With an unclear expression, he roughly wiped away the tears at the

corners of her eyes with his fingers.

Vivian was shocked. She looked up at him.

In the next moment, Chow leaned down and connected their lips together, taking her lips in his.

    "No!" she thought.

She had just been thinking about Celine. There was no way she could let Chow do what he wanted

    with her this time.

However, there was nothing she could do to get Chow to let her go. Despite his anger, he was still a

stubborn person who would get whatever he wanted, even if by force.

Now, the only thing on his mind was to get on top of her.

The bathroom was lit with faint, romantic lights. Even the custom-made French bathtub was filled with

pink flower petals floating about in the water.

A few lighted scented candles also flickered on the ledge of the bathtub.

It was obvious that someone had carefully prepared this for a long time, waiting for her lover to join her

    that night.

    ...

But now, there was only one person in the bathroom, and she was wearing a furious expression on her

    face.

    "Vivian!"

Celine dug her nails into her palm and repeated Vivian''s name hatefully, gnashing her teeth together.

Just now, in the car, she had made it clear that she wanted him to stay for the night.

However, Chow still dropped her off downstairs without hesitation and left in a hurry.

In the past, she would have just consoled herself, thinking that he was simply not interested.

But now, Celine knew very well that the reason why he was in such a hurry to go back was to find

    Vivian, that b*tch!

"Vivian, did you really think that I would let you snatch Chow away from me?" she screamed.

She red at everything in her line of sight, eyes so dark and murderous they could kill a person if they

stood in front of her. Vivian, preferably. "Your stupid tricks are so amateurish you could only fool a

    baby!"

Even as she said that, she still couldn''t forget the look in Chow''s eyes when he looked at Vivian. Celine

    felt even angrier.

"F*ck everything!" Celine roared in anger as she swept the scented candles into the bathtub.

The weak mes extinguished immediately in the water.

    "Vivian! I''ll never forgive you!"

The position of Mrs. Howard could only be hers, and hers only! She would never let anyone else steal it

    away from her!

Chow would never abandon her and choose Vivian on his own ord.

    Never!

As she thought, Celine''s angry expression disappeared. A sly smile gradually spread across her lips.
