My social circle

    My social circle

    Lily''s POV:

I was still flustered even after a 20 minutes car ride, I was about to lose it back there, thanks god

nothing happened. I would not have forgiven myself, I may not be able to understand how the rich

people think but I do not care even if I did; he has a girlfriend and I should respect that.

In addition, I don''t want a stupid choice out of temporary feelings and an instinct drive to ruin my future.

I never wanted an arrogant husband who belittles me at every given chance. He might be rich but it is

this money that would prevent me from ever falling in love with him.

I won''t be able to tolerate society''s prejudice, they would categorize me as a gold digger and would

alwayspare me to him, he would get bored sooner orter so I just have to ignore him until then.

-" We have reached our destination, Mrs. Lily." The driver said interrupting my thread of thoughts.

I got out of the car and asked the bodyguards to remain outside. I stepped into Tasty restaurant and

located my friends who were gathering around a table by the counter sipping whiskey. I walked up to

them thanking god that Gerald allowed me to move not totally free but at least be able to carry out my

    normal daily life.

" Hey girl, how have you been?" Diana asked, my friend from middle school whom I saved once from

her bullies, that was when our rtionship developed into a friendship.

" I am fine, I should ask you the same, How''s life going?"

    " Ughhh, Exams." Jenny sighed.

Jenny and Ca were also with her, they are my friends too but not as much as Diana, we went

through high school together though so we spent a nice amount of time with each other.

" Why did you transfer from your college, we heard about it from Jack." Ca wondered.

Jack was a stalker of mine that almost followed me everywhere I wentst summer.

" Does he keep trailing me?" I asked worried that he might have tracked me and know what happened

to me so far, that would be a little bit problematic since Jack is the most persistent boy I have ever met,

he hardly gives up even though I rejected him several times.

    " Maybe..." Diana spected.

" What did he tell you, girls?"

" He said that you go to a very expensive college, going around in a ck Jaguar surrounded by a

    bunch of bodyguards." Dianaughed.

" He must have gone insane, lol" Ca retorted.

" Yeah, he totally lost it. Love drags people insane." Jennymented.

I didn''t know how to reply, I was afraid that my situation would be misunderstood, if I were to say that a

phnthropist took me in, they will totally not believe me. They would rather think that I seduced him

with my body. I also can''t tell them the truth since it wouldplicate things and I don''t want that to

    happen.

If I lied, that stupid Jack might actually prove it to them and I might end up losing my friends because of

my lies. I was so immersed in my thoughts that I did not notice the girls calling my name.

" Lily, Lily... Are you okay?" They asked.

" What?... Yes... I am fine." I stuttered.

" What are you thinking about?"

I had to think of an excuse to use quickly.

" I didn''t want to admit it guys but it is actually true, not the whole truth but I do really go to an

expensive unaffordable college. I work as a maid for one of the top rich families, the head of the family

paid for my tuition in that college since he admired my diligence to studying." I lied.

" You are kidding me? That is hrious. Who is the man?" Diana questioned.

" Yeah and what about the bodyguards?" Ca added.

" It is Gerald Find, our country''s most notorious billionaire. Do you believe he actually turned out to

be someone nice? He even said that the university''s students shouldn''t know that I am poor so he

ordered some bodyguards of his to follow me around in one of the many cars he owns" I exined.

" Fuck, I can''t still believe it, hey Jenny, pinch me," Diana ordered.

" Pinch me first, I honestly think I have essed a fairy tale," Jenny replied.

" I still have to work hard cleaning the house and cooking all three meals guys just to repay his

kindness, It is not that easy."

" You must get help from other maids as well," Jenny stated.

" Yes, but still the workload is so much especially while studying," I stated back.

" Mr. Gerald has a son who is 24 years old, he is so fucking handsome, have you seen him?" ra

    asked.

" 24?? How is he 24? He goes to the same college as me and he is even in the same grade so how is

    he 24?"

" They say that he was locked in his study room since he was 8 years old, he was home tutored and he

learned how to run business right after he learned how to walk. Words have it going that he created his

ownpany without anyone''s help, not even his dad''s at the age of twelve." Diana began.

" And because of that he had to take a break from school for a few years, he wasted almost his whole

childhood working with the elders. He didn''t go to middle or high school thanks to his family''s

connections but had to enroll in college 4 yearster than his fellow friends." Jenny continued.

" I bet he did it just to break free from his father''s workaholic demeanor, he needed to go to college to

have some fun and make brand new happy memories," ramented.

That is why he is so manly, he was not a mere kid, to begin with, and the age difference between us is

six years. I didn’t know that he did not totally have it easy while growing up; I guess I saw him from a

new lens for the first time today.
