    Chapter 36

    Michael''s P.O.V.

    "Daddy...I''m hungry" Mya whined.

We stayed in the hot air balloon for about forty five minutes and then decided we had enough.

I grabbed Mya''s hand and led her to the car, thanking Tobi on the way out.

"Ok baby let''s go eat somewhere. What are you in the mood for?" She shrugged, "Wendy''s maybe.."

I thought for a moment. I guess that''ll be ok. "Sure princess, but we can''t eat too much because we still

    have dinner reservations."

We approached the car and I smiled. Louis stood waiting there for us wearing the gold chain.  "Woahh

nice chain Lou!! Where did you get it?!"

Heughed as his cheeks turned a light shade of red. "Thank you sir. It was a gift from a friend." I

    chuckled.

Mya and I climbed into the car  and shut the door. She yawned and climbed into myp. "Baby...I

    thought you were acting older."

She smiled sleepily, "I am but I still need my daddy." I kissed her forehead and rubbed her back. That

always seems to settle her nerves and helps her to rx.

"Louis!!" I called causing his eyes to flicker to the rear view mirror then back at the road. "Yes sir?"

"Mya is hungry so we need to stop off at Wendy''s really fast." He nodded, "Yes sir."

It took awhile but by the time we reached Wendy''s, Mya was fast asleep. Louis came around and

opened the car door signaling for us to step out.

"Mya.." I said softly as I shook her shoulder. She stirred slowly and her eyes fluttered open. "Daddy.."

She mumbled reaching her arms out to me. I sighed, "Come on princess we''re here." She whimpered

and rubbed her eyes. "Daddy... up up."  I shook my head, "Baby you can walk. You''re suppose to be

acting your age." She sat up slowly and held her arms up to me again.

"Please daddy..." She pouted as tears filled her eyes.

I hated seeing her cry so I lifted her up and ced her on my hip. She held onto my shirt tightly

burrying her face into my neck. I turned to Louis and spoke, "would you like anything?"

He frowned and shook his head, "No thank you sir I''m fine."

I sighed, "Lou you haven''t eaten all day I''m sure you want something." He shook his head, "Mr.

Hoffstetter I''m vegan." I chuckled, "Oh yea sorry. How about a sd? I''ll make sure they don''t put any

chicken in it." He nodded smiling a bit, "Yes please."

I entered the store holding Mya securely in my arms. "Daddy... " she mumbled.

    "Yes princess?"

She pointed at the over head menu. "Can I have that?" She asked pointing at the chicken nuggets.

ced her on her feet and grabbed her hand. "Baby that''s the four for four it down juste with the

chicken nuggets" she pouted, "but daddy I want that..." I sighed, "Ok baby how about I buy it and you

can eat the chicken nuggets and fries and I''ll eat the burger. Is that ok?" She nodded and whined for

me to pick her up again.

I walked up to the man at the counter. "How can I help you today sir?" He didn''t look at me when he

spoke, his eyes were fixed on Mya. "Um sir isn''t she a little to big for you to be carrying her like that?" I

frowned feeling my anger rise. He has no business asking me about that. I huffed as I inched closer to

him. "Aren''t you a little needy for this job?"

His eyes widened when he realized what I said. "I''m sorry sir...what can I get you?"

We approached the ranch where our horse back riding was suppose to take ce and Mya crinkled

her nose. "Eww what''s that smell?" I chuckled, "that my dear, is the sweet smell of manure." She

    giggled, "eww..."

We turned into the dirt road and the car slowed down and stopped. I told Louis he could just drop us off

ande back in an hour. I knew he doesn''t really like anything with dirt or bad smells.

I stepped out of the car pulling Mya with me. "Baby are you ok? Do you need a change before we go?"

She shook her head, "No daddy I''m ok for now."

    "Michael!!!"

I turned and saw Francesca running towards me. She caught me off guard and jumped into my arms.

"I missed you so much!!! I haven''t seen you in so long.."

I chuckled hugging her back, "I know..I missed you too." Francesca and I have been friends for about

three years now and I used to alwayse here to ride the horses and just keep herpany.

She pulled away and looked at Mya. Her eyes went wide and her skin paled. "Mya..."

Mya looked up at her and frowned deeply. "Hi Franny..."

I knitted my eyebrows together. "You two know each other?" Mya nodded, "she was with me when I

used to live with my old master." My jaw dropped...wow.

Mya rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "Michael can we just go?" My eyes widened... she never

called me by my name before. I smiled sadly at Francesca, "just give us a minute."

I pulled Mya to the side and pulled her close. "Baby what''s wrong?" She sighed, "I wanna leave..."

    "I understand that but why?"

She rolled her eyes, "Daddy she''s mean and I hate her. She''s one of the worst people you could ever

    meet."

I shook my head, "but princess I wanted to do this with you..I was really looking forward to this.." She

sighed running her tiny hand over her face. "Alright fine but I don''t want her anywhere near us.."

I nodded...I''ve never seen this side of Mya before.

We walked back over to Francesca and I sighed. Before I could speak Mya stepped in front of me.

"Listen here.." she said pointing a finger in Francesca''s face. "Michael and I are going horse back riding

and you will stay out of out way, got it?!?"

Francesca nodded, fear evident in her eyes....
