    Chapter 63 The Vige

They had nomunication device, and no one would be passing by anytime soon. They couldn''t just

stay here and wait until he bled out.

    "Okay."

Luz immediately stood up and helped him up as carefully as possible. Her cautious attention pleased

the man beside her. "Go over there. There should be a small vige."

The two of them walked slowly across the destend for an entire morning before they saw the

small vige at the foot of the mountain.

"Henry, there really is a vige." Seeing the rising white smoke, she couldn''t help but shout excitedly.

    "Never doubt my IQ."

Blood oozed out of Henry''s dry and cracked lips. His pale face showed his exhaustion. His body listed

to the side as he smiled.

    "Henry!"

She shouted anxiously, startling the passers-by at the vige. Several kind-hearted men helped her

    carry him into the vige.

"Can you call the emergency services?"

After walking for the whole morning, they were both on the brink of copsing.

"Miss, our vige is not essible by ambnce. How about I call the vige doctor?"

A farmer''s wife informed her kindly. Their vige was under-developed and had no proper roads, so

emergency services could not reach them. They relied primarily on the vige doctor for their medical

    needs.

"Then please hurry up. Thank you."

Ten minutester, the woman came in with a man in his fifties. Luz had no time to confirm his medical

abilities, but she assumed that he was a better doctor than a medical school dropout like her. "Doctor,

please take a look at him."

The doctor felt Henry''s pulse and checked his wound. Then, he removed the bandage and began to

clean the wound. "Did you deal with his wound? The wound is not fatal. This young man is healthy.

    Don''t worry, he won''t die."

The doctor prescribed him some antibiotics and painkillers, then left. Luz couldn''t stop her tears from

falling when she watched Henry lying in bed, unconscious.

"Miss, if you don''t mind, you can live in my house now and leave when your man is better."

The kind woman handed over some warm water and food, and said with a smile.

"Thank you, I''m sorry for the trouble."

"No trouble at all! The only problem is we''re quite poor."

The woman smiled embarrassedly, put down her things, and went out of the room.

Henry was in aa for two days before waking up. He looked at the house in front of him with his

weak but sharp eyes. It was rundown, but still standing. That was the least of his worries, however.

What worried him more was that he did not see Luz anywhere.

    "Are you awake?"

The woman came in to grab something and saw his open eyes. She was a little taken aback by his

good looks. She had thought that the man was good-looking when he was unconscious, but it was

even better when he was awake.

    "Where''s the woman with me?"

Henry shifted slightly and asked about Luz.

"She''s cooking for you in the courtyard. Your wife has been devoted to you for the past two days you

were unconscious. I always see her with swollen eyes, so she must have cried a lot as well."

Henry felt as if something had squeezed his heart. His weak and cold body seemed to be suddenly

surrounded by warmth. He looked at the door and asked, "Has she been watching me the whole time?"

"Yes, you look like a loving couple."

After saying that, she took the things and left with a smile, leaving him in a trance.

Two minutester, she ran in in panic. "Are you awake?"

    "Yes."

He gave her a mono-sybic answer and appraised the woman in front of him. Her jacket was ugly, but

it only brought out her beauty. She had lost some weight, and her eyes were red and swollen.

Luz felt a little ufortable under his gaze, but she heaved a silent sigh of relief. Now all he just

needed was rest to heal his wound as soon as possible.

"I... I cooked some porridge for you. You can have liquid foods now."

After that, she turned around and walked out of the room. Then, she came in with a bowl of millet

    porridge.

Henry reached out to take it, but she held his arm down. "Don''t move. You''ll aggravate your wound. I''ll

    feed you."

He hadn''t been fed for as long as he could remember, but he opened his mouth obediently when she

put a spoonful of porridge close to his mouth.

The warm porridge moisturized his dry mouth and covered the bitter taste on his tongue. The warm,

sticky broth slipped down his throat and into his stomach without much need for chewing, which was

    good.

"Have you been taking care of me these two days?"

After finishing a bowl of porridge, he regained some of his strength. At least he was not as weak as

    before.

"You were injured because of me. I should take care of you."

But such an excuse made him frown. If he had not been shot, would she not have taken care of him?

    "Do you want more porridge?"

Luz was worried that he was still hungry, so she asked him, but he rejected the offer. "No."

    "..."

The awkward but warm atmosphere between them disappears almost immediately. She was baffled by

his odd change of behaviour. If he didn''t want any more porridge, he could have said so nicely without

    the attitude.

Henry''s bad moodsted until night. The woman and her family had already turned in for the night,

leaving Luz in an awkward situation.

She was fine sleeping in the same bed as Henry when he was unconscious thest two days, but now

    that he was awake...

    "Come on, sleep."

Seeing that her eyes were bloodshot but she still didn''t rest, Henry immediately frowned with

    dissatisfaction.

"I... I''m not sleepy yet. Go to sleep first."

She swallowed hard. They were already divorced.

"I''m not interested in you at all right now."

Having seen through her thoughts, Henry turned his face to the other side coldly.

Even if he was interested, he couldn''t do anything in this situation. What was she worried about?

Seeing that he turned his head and did not look at her, she took a deep breath. She was so tired that

she was about to fall asleep on her feet. These two nights, in order to take care of him, she did not dare

    to sleep for too long.

She crept onto the wooden bed and carefully distanced herself from the man.

At first, she was worried for a few minutes, but her tired body couldn''t stand the exhaustion anymore.

Her breaths evened out into a slow and sweet rhythm.

Only then did Henry turn his head. Looking at her slender back, his displeasure dissipated.

His eyes fell on her waist. He wondered if she had gotten someone to take a look at her wound.

He reached out and gently lifted her jacket. Her loose pants were obviously not in her size, but it made

it convenient for him to check on her wound.

The long cut on her back was covered with some salve and was already scabbing. Seeing this, Henry

    finally rxed.

Just as he was about to pull the jacket back into ce, the woman beside him caught his arm. "Henry, I

    don''t want to die."
