    A dayter, Sofia left the dinner earlier. Because of me. I convinced her to go and assured her I will do


    the rest of the work. It''s all for her birthday. We don''t have much money but atleast I want to buy her a


    cake.


    Thinking of Xander, he hasn''t visited me today. But I know he will visit me in a different. First, it was the


    dinner and then the kitchen. Today it could be any ce. But I hope it shouldn''t be my home. I''m not


    living alone.


    Anyways, I have reached the cake shop at 8:00 pm. I have to select something to buy for her. If I have


    more money, I won''t look for something less costly.


    I entered the shop, looking everywhere for some minutes but nothing is under my budget. I don''t feel


    like this is going to work. When did I be incapable of buying Cake?


    I explored the same shop over and over again while the other customers already bought and left. But


    then something caught my eyes. A cake that I cannot buy in this life. A wedding cake. It has fouryers.

    What am I doing here? I can''t even buy a cheap cake but I''m looking at expensive ones. Even the

    " Do you like this? We can buy this for our wedding in future?" I almost lost my bnce when I heard a


    familiar. The one voice I always love to hear. Am I dreaming or Xander follows me everywhere?


    " What? What are you doing here? Why are you following me?" I whispered silently without disturbing


    the other customers.


    " You have been looking at the cake for a long time. We can buy this for us if you want it. After selecting

    Xander had a hurt look on his face. He just took a moment of silence before talking again.

    first step, the owner of the cake shop spoke to us.

    " Yeah, show us the most expensive ones. We are nning to buy from your shop," He wrapped his


    arm around me and telling a lie.


    " I''m d that you choose my shop. I will make sure you will be satisfied with the selection. Follow me,"


    He said, taking us inside another room.


    " We are not couples. Why are you faking it, Xander?" I whispered.


    " We will be married one day. I''m preparing for it in advance," He kissed my forehead and we followed


    the owner. No. Now, I can''t tell the truth to the owner. I should go with this lie.


    The owner showed a lot of cakes ording to our interest. Atst, we choose one.


    " I went with your lie. Now, let''s go out,"


    " We can''t disappoint the owner. Let''s buy it,"


    " We can buy it and where can we keep it. You are buying a wedding cake without a wedding. Give


    your number to the owner and assure him that we will buy from him soon. And now I''m out," I told him


    and left the room. He did what I said and followed me outside the shop.

    happened in the past but you are worrying that I will hate you. That seems so silly. I won''t do that to

    " You don''t know that. Now, you are a person with fresh new memories. What will happen when you got


    your memories back? All memories are going to collide and you might hate me again and go back to


    Veronica. If that happens, I can''t live with it. I''m just being cautious. You don''t know how hard I''m trying

    " Then, don''t. Don''t avoid me. I will never hate you. I promise you. We can start something new. Even if


    you hurt me in the past, I will forgive you. Tell me what happened years ago which make me hate you.


    We can get over it right now." He looked right through my eyes, with his hands on either side of my

    " I don''t want to talk about it. The past is not the only issue. Your parents will hate you for doing this.


    And you are nning to cancel a wedding which you desperately wanted before the ident. I don''t


    want to be a person who sabotages it." I stayed stubborn in my words. I''m doing this without wanting


    to. I can''t stay here a minute longer.


    " Why are you being like this? I''m trying so hard to get you back. We can manage whatever problem


    comes in our way. I''m giving you all the assurance. Why can''t you agree?" He removed his hands and


    stepped back. Finally, I have made him angry. Nice work, Madison. You won''t be able to sleep today


    because of what you did.


    " It''s gettingte. I have to go. Bye, Xander," I avoided eye contact with him and started walking away


    from him.


    " You know what? I will marry her. Is that what you want?" No. No.


    I stopped walking but didn''t dare to face him.

    marry Veronica."


    " No, that''s not it. I love you," I turned and murmured. I''m not sure if he heard when I said ''I love you''


    " If that''s not true, thene back. Or I will marry her for real," He gave me a difficult choice. My head


    and my heart are torturing me.


    My head is telling me not to take a single step towards him. My heart is telling me to run right into his


    arms.


    " I''m sorry," I walked away with the word ''sorry''. I shouldn''t have done it but now I can''t take it back.
