Chapter 12: Mixed Signals


    Looking at the driver driving the topic farther, I quickly exined, "Mister, you misunderstood. He is not


    my husband and my child is not his."


    The driver nced at us through the rearview mirror as if we had a long story. I didn''t want to exin


    anymore. Anyway, it would only make things worse. Now, I just need to let Gavin know that the child


    wasn''t his. As for other things, the driver didn''t know me anyway, so I didn''t care.

    He only ordered one bowl so I suggested that we share. "You should eat, too. I can''t finish this whole


    bowl anyway. Let me get you some."


    Gavin did not refuse. This was the first time we had dined at the same table. He looked very handsome


    at dinner and was so elegant that I found it hard to look away.


    Gavin did not look at me, but suddenly said, "Am I that good-looking?  Haven''t you seen enough after


    staring for a long time?"


    I felt my cheeks burning! me me for being obsessed by this scene, I am just so fascinated! I had to


    apologize immediately, "I am sorry!" I said.

    "I see..." Gavin touched his chin and said thoughtfully, "But I haven''t had enough yet."


    I quickly said, "Don''t call convenient food then. I''ll simply cook some noodles for you. Is that okay?"


    "Are you sure?"


    "Yes. It won''t take long to cook instant noodles."


    "Very well, then." After saying that, Gavin took out his chopsticks and sat down in the living room,


    looking obedient as if he was waiting for me to cook the pasta. Such a scene was rare to see indeed.


    Seeing Gavin, the boss of a bigpany, waiting so calmly was a sight that would definitely stun


    people.


    I quickly cooked a bowl of tomato and egg pasta. After I served it, Gavin looked at me in wonder and


    said, "That''s it?"

    is enough. After all, simple dishes can show off a person''s cooking skills."
