I wanted to stay away from Tracy but I couldn''t, I wanted to know what she is thinking, I wanted to know
how she felt, I made her work in my office with me but then she didn''t spare me a nce.
I even told one of the security guards to tamper with her car so I can offer her a ride. Before I could
offer her that ride she called her man and he came to pick her.
I was frustrated and annoyed but there was nothing I could do, I drove myself home and I went straight
to bed.
I couldn''t sleep, I kept turning on my bed thinking about everything that happened today, my heart is
rejoicing that my wife is closer to me now but my heart is also broken that I lost her to another man.
I drifted into a restless sleep with the resolution that I''d get my wife back and I woke up the next
morning to a message from James, saying he''s on a case as a private detective and he traveled out to
carry it out, he didn''t say it but I know he''s trying to tell me the investigation he''s carrying out for me
would be put on hold.
My stomach grumbled but I ignored it because I had to get to work, there are mountains of work that
needs to be tackled and tons of meeting to attend.
I took my bath and dressed in a blue suit, blue tie, ck shoes, I got into my car and I drove to work.
Tracy''s car was still in the parking lot, but then it must have been there since yesterday, I made my way
to my office where Tracy was waiting already beside my well-organized table.
"Good morning sir, you have a meeting with one of our clients by 9:00 am this morning, it wouldst an
hour long and then you have to go through the documents the manager left earlier, there are
documents you have to sign too, you have to go through the adjustment made on the mining project
too." She said then stared at me nkly.
I loathe the fact that she''s talking to me like we have never been anything other than boss and
employee, it is so annoying that the woman that once looks at me like I''m her world is now barely
sparing me nces, it is very annoying.
I stared at her for a while then I shook my head and I sat down.
"Let''s start on the documents, have you finished arranging the clients'' names?"
"No sir."
"Then let''s begin."
I couldn''t concentrate on work, I kept peeping to stare at her, I wanted to reach over and touch her. She
didn''t spare me a nce, she was so focused, she has always been focused, but right now I want her
to lose focus and look at me.
I didn''t know how long I was staring at her until the wristwatch beeped, I looked away as she looked at
the wristwatch.
"Your meeting is in 10 minutes." She said standing up
"Oh okay," I said standing up too, my stomach released a low growl and I paused, Tracy turned to look
at me, I felt ufortable because she was staring at me like some kind of scanning machine.
"Whenst did you eat anything?." She asked and I looked away like a child who wronged his mother
"Answer me, whenst did you eat anything?." She asked again this time with a mother-like tone, I''m
sure she gave birth to those children and she used that tone on them a lot.
"Is that part of the business? Because I remember we are supposed to talk about a business only."
"I am your employee, the employee around you almost all the time, if anything happens to you I would
be held responsible, so tell me whenst did you eat anything?"
"Lunch."
"Lunch when?" She asked facing me fully
"Lunch meeting."
"Alex!, You barely ate anything, you kept drinking coffee yesterday, what is wrong with you?!"
"Are you worried?" I asked, if I''m not mistaken she is concerned about me
"Like I said you are my boss and I''m not getting arrested because you decided to starve yourself, I
have kids to take care of." She held my hand and pulled me towards the door but I stopped her before
she could open the door.
"Where are we going?"
"To get you something to eat."
"We have a meeting in less than 10 minutes," I said and she released my hand, I regret saying it
immediately.

"We are getting you food after the meeting then."
We made our way to the conference room and the meetingmenced, everything was going well
until the CEO of the otherpany was smiling widely towards me, I was surprised and when he
waved I had to look behind me.
He was smiling and waving at Tracy, and she was smiling right back, my brows dipped into a frown as I
tried to process what was going on but I didn''t have any logical excuse other than he''s flirting with my
wife, I was very ufortable and I wanted the meeting to end immediately.
The rest of the meeting was torture but I endured and I was d when the meeting came to an end.
"Tracy!" The CEO called as everyone began to leave, leaving me, Tracy, and The CEO in the
conference room
"Sam" she called back, they met each other and hugged right in front of me, The audacity!.
"How are you doing?" She asked still holding his hand
"I''m doing good, how are you doing?"
"I''m fine thank you."
"Oh, I miss you so much, sweetie."
"I miss you too."
"I see you are working, how about we meet upter, maybe during your lunch break since I''d still be
around."
"Sure, I''d see you by 12 then."
They exchanged numbers like I was not there and he left, Tracy came back to my side but I red at
her and walked away.
"Where are you going?"
"Back to my office."
"No way sir, we are getting you something." She said standing before me to stop me from moving
Her face was upturned and I was tempted to pull her close and kiss her slowly and softly.
"Let''s go then," I said moving away from her, I can do anything at that moment so staying away from
her is the best thing I can do for the both of us, no useplicating things.
