Chapter 46: I Lied to You


    Just as she was browsing through every entry in a recruitment website, her mobile phone rang


    suddenly.


    Felicity was scared; she took out the mobile phone to have a look and found that it was David calling.


    She thought of the time when Lucas was embarrassing her and David stepped up to help. Felicity


    picked up the call.


    "Felicity, hi! How have you been?"


    David asked her in a cautious tone.


    "I’m doing fine. How did you call?"


    Felicity held back all the negative emotions. She did not want to appear too weak, or to let others know


    how coward she was.


    "If you are free, can you meet me for a bit? There''s something I want to hear your opinion about."


    She had already resigned and had absolutely nothing to do, so she agreed to meet him.


    In Felicity''s opinion, David was different from Lucas.


    He was also rejected by her, but unlike Lucas he decided to be a decent human being about it and


    chose to silently guard her as a friend; while Lucas decided to bully and take revenge for rejecting him.


    Because of that, her impression of David became a little more favorable.


    However, he was just as a friend.


    The two met at a small pub near Felicity’s residence.


    The rumors about that night were very strong in nature. After greeting her, the first thing David asked


    her in a concerned voice was, "What happened that night?"


    That night was indeed the most dramatic one in the history of JC University.


    First, Lucas was expelled, and the Branson Group suddenly announced that they would be moving out


    of JC City. Then, Anne and the other two, with the signs in the campus ground, made a huge fool of


    themselves.


    "They were targeting me. But, fortunately, the president of the Reed Group, Jason Reed came forward


    to help me."


    Felicity roughly described that day’s situation to David.


    "Was that really that powerful and rich president of the Reed Group, Jason Reed, who helped you?”


    David was a little shocked at first, so he asked again.


    "Yes."


    Felicity nodded.

    Felicity remembered that David asked her out to ask her opinion about something.

    Hearing Felicity’s encouraging tone, David’s heart broke a little.


    It looked like she didn''t need him in her life.

    To ease the embarrassment, David called the waiter and ordered their drinks.


    At that moment, Felicity''s mobile phone rang.


    It was Jason.


    But just like when she first came to the pub, Felicity quickly rejected the call.

    her.


    "No, ignore it. Let''s go out for a stroll. It''s no fun sitting here all the time. "


    Felicity wanted to change her mood, so she got up and walked outside.


    David’s eyes lit up a little as he got up and quickly followed her outside.


    Just as they walked out of the pub, a Porsche stopped in front of them.

    Jason approached them slowly.

    "Why didn''t you answer my call?" He asked in his cold voice.


    Felicity did not answer, nor did she look into Jason''s eyes, pretending to be indifferent.


    "Why?"


    Jason repeated his question again, his tone even heavier and colder than before.


    "If she doesn''t want to say it, you should not force it."


    Seeing that Jason’s attitude was bing more and more domineering and his voice became more


    and more cold, David could not help but try to defend Felicity.


    "It''s none of your business. Please leave!"


    Jason nced at David and told him to leave coldly.


    He asked Felicity the question, why was this man butting in?

    David is my boyfriend!"

    David was not afraid. Instead, he was calmly staring into Jason’s eyes.


    The only problem was, he could feel Felicity’s arm shaking ceaselessly.

    needed him!


    "Mr. Reed, Felicity told me all about you. I really appreciate your help to my girlfriend in such a troubling


    time! Why don''t I invite you to dinner some day? "

    and helping her by acting like her boyfriend.
