Chapter 24 Rejo Was in Bad Luck

Chapter 24 Rejo Was in Bad Luck

Jason took out the phone trying to call Rejo, but he didn''t get through. He and Brady took a look

at each other. Because of the tacit understanding they developed over the years, without further

ado, Jason went to the monitor room, and Brady grabbed the waiter and began asking.

Jason walked faster and faster, and atst, he started running. His breathing was rapid and he was

almost out of breath. He thought to himself that he had to hurry up for Rejo was timid, and that

she must have cried in fear now. He had to hurry up.

By the time Jason arrived at the monitor room, Brady had already done his job. The manager with

beads of sweat on his forehead stood at the door, and as soon as he saw Jason appear, he

immediately walked forward hunched over. He said, "Sir..."

"Shut up! Show me the surveince video!"

Jason pushed away the manager in the way and stood before the screen, searching for the video

himself. Then Brady also arrived. He was panting slightly, which showed that he also ran over. He

said, "I asked the waiter who served food, and he said that Rejo had taken a phone call before

she went out. Let''s check the surveince video at the hotel gate."

An astute security guard nearby pointed to the red button in front of Jason, saying, "Sir, the one on

the left is the gate surveince."

Jason moved his slender fingers, fixing his eyes on the screen before him. In a short while, a

woman in a light green shirt and beige pants appeared on the screen. Jason''s eyes brightened. He

zoomed in on the image and made sure that the woman was indeed Rejo. "Only someone with

fair skin like her could carry off such colors," he thought to himself. Then he realized that this was

not the time for such a thought. He shook his head sharply trying to get rid of the inappropriate

    image in his mind.

He then gazed at the image that was zoomed in: Rejo was holding a phone to her ear, looking

like she was talking on the phone. It went to show that what the waiter said was true.

The video continued: Rejo looked around, seemingly looking for someone, then she left the hotel

gate step by step till she was out of the range of the surveince camera. She never returned.

Brady frowned and asked, "Is this the only camera in front of the hotel? Isn''t there another one a

    little further away?"

    Property ? N?velDrama.Org.

"No, there... There isn''t," stuttered the manager in a cold sweat, "There was one originally, but it

was broken. The maintenance said they were going to fix it today, but they haven''t..."

"What do you need them for? Fire them all!" Jason interrupted the manager''s nonsense impatiently.

He knew that finding Rejo was the top priority, so now was not the time to y the me game.

Jason took out his phone and dialed a number. He said, "Go check the surveince of the shops on

both sides of the Crown Pce Hotel. I''ll send you the phototer. Pay attention to vehiclesing

and going. Also, tell you men to y it safe."

Brady thought for a moment, and then he took out his phone, saying, "I should have my men check

who was on thest call with Rejo. It''s a long shot because if the person was trying to hide

himself by using a public telephone..."

"Even a public phone can be traced back to its source. With security cameras around and my

people, I don''t think he can get away!" Jason said in a low voice, trying to suppress his rage.

Brady suddenly felt a jolt while holding his phone. He felt something was up, but he worried the

safety of Rejo more, so he didn''t think much, and then he lowed his head and continued to look

    for her.

While Jason and Brady were looking for her in a big way, Rejo was stuck in the narrow trunk.

She had just woken up from the sleeping drug and when she opened her eyes it was pitch ck.

Rejo was so frightened that she almost shouted out, but then she bit the tip of her tongue hard to

restrain the impulse to shout out. While calming her pounding heart, she moved her wrist and

breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, they didn''t tie her up, otherwise, it would be even more

    troublesome.

She moved from side to side for a moment, and based on the continuous movement, she judged

that she had been knocked out and thrown into the trunk.

Joy frowned and pondered for a moment, but couldn''t figure out who she had offended and why she

    would be treated like this.

However, she couldn''t just sit and wait, for she didn''t know what terrible thing would happen to her

next. The same darkness made her involuntarily think of that dark night, and fear thereupon

followed her like a shadow. Rejo forced herself to forget. She whispered to herself, "Fear not,

fear not. It''s okay. Jason is going toe to my rescue. Jason... Where are you?"

The speeding car suddenly stopped. Rejo quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of her

eyes, and covered her face with her hair to shield her eyes. Otherwise, if the trunk opened, her eyes

might not be able to withstand the stimtion of the strong light and she would give herself away.

Sure enough, after a while, the trunk was opened. Rejo could feel a gaze lingering on her face,

cold and gross. Luckily, the gaze didn''t stay for too long. It disappeared in a short while. Otherwise,

Rejo couldn''t guarantee that she wouldn''t be exposed. Her body was so stiff that she almost

    screamed.

Then Rejo felt that she was picked up. There was a foul smell around her nose, and an obscene

    voice rang from her ears.

"Baker, the chick has a nice figure! She is going to be sent away anyways, so why don''t you let me

have some fun with her first?" Rejo jolted a little, but because the man holding her was thinking

of something erotic, he didn''t notice Rejo''s subtle movement.

The person called Baker replied in a low and hoarse voice, "No, there is an order from above. The

woman must be sent away immediately, no stalling. You''d better get a hold of yourself, or else I''ll cut

    off your family jewels!"

The person holding Rejo trembled with fear and dared not have any other thoughts. He looked

regretfully at the smooth skin of the beauty in his arms. Her skin was better than any woman he had

seen. He tutted and said, "Baker, who is this woman? Is she the daughter of some rich family?"

"Skinny, let me tell you something. In our line of work, don''t ask questions you shouldn''t. Once we

have her, it doesn''t matter who she was. Alright, the ship is about to leave. Now get her in!"

Skinny took a few quick steps, passed the pedals, went straight into the basement and threw her to

the floor. Under the dim yellow light, the woman''s glowing white skin attracted him to a few more

nces. He couldn''t help but swallow, and he felt his heartbeat quicken with excitement. Hiding a

woman wasn''t a big deal, and it wasn''t something he hadn''t done before as he got ties with the

shipowner. It would be fine as long as she couldn''t get out.

"Hurry! The ship is about to leave." Baker''s cold voice came from above.

    "What a bad day!"

Skinny took a few more looks and left with reluctance. He knew that Baker was not someone to

    mess with.

"The identity of this woman is obviously unusual, or else they won''t want to send her away in a rush.

It''s not worth it to offend Baker for a woman," Skinny thought to himself.

With the sound of the board closed, Rejo secretly opened an eye. She found that she wasn''t the

only person here - there were many other women. Joy sat up and looked around. There was a dim

oval light bulb over her head. The room was dark and damp, and there were many women sitting or

lying in the corner. No one spoke, and the expressions on their faces looked empty and numb in the

    dim light.

From what she had overheard, she decided that she must have been on board, and that her

location was probably in the storage room at the bottom of the ship. She must have met human

    traffickers!

But, that man named Baker said there was an order from above to send her away, which meant that

someone was targeting her specifically. "No no no, now it wasn''t the time to think about it," she

thought to herself, "I should figure out how to get out. It''ll be a real disaster for me if I''m sold to

    somewhere deep in the mountains."

Rejo shivered at the thought of this.

"Are you cold? You can take my clothes!" A small and delicate sound came from Rejo''s ear. She

turned her head to look over by the light: a girl with a dirty face handed over a piece of clothes to

her. She flinched a little when she met Rejo''s eyes. Rejo sniffed and declined in a gentle

voice, "Thank you, but I''m not cold."

"Oh." The girl withdrew her hand and huddled in a corner with her clothes. Rejo sat down beside

the girl. As she was wondering how to get acquainted with her, there was a powerful forceing

from behind. Uncontrobly, she fell forward.

Her palms ached from rubbing on the floor, and there was a dull ache in her knees and elbows as

    well.

"Are you okay?" The girl who had just sent Rejo clothes quickly stepped forward to support her,

but her strength was weak and she couldn''t pull her up even with a lot of force.

Rejo got up on her own and turned her head. She saw a tall and thin woman staring at her

fiercely. The woman turned her head, lowered her eyes, spat on the ground, and cursed, "What are

you looking at? I''ll rip your eyes out if you keep looking. I''m telling you, you got to listen to what I

say here or else I''ll beat you. This is a lesson I''m giving you. Now, crawl over here and lick my shoe

    clean."

She put her right foot forward, looked down with arms crossed, and waited for her to crawl over.

Rejo was dumbfounded. She wondered if she was dreaming. Why there was such a drama going

on in such a ce? Shouldn''t they stick together and try to get out of here? Why were they hurting

    each other?

"Didn''t you hear what I said? You little bitch. You want to take a lesson?" Seeing Rejo didn''t

move, the woman squinted, looking at her viciously. The two women following her took two steps

forward, clenched their fists and grinned wickedly.

"Boss, this woman is so ignorant. Let me help you kick her ass."

"Yeah yeah yeah. Let her get down on her knees and lick our spit!"

The girl beside her began to tremble violently. She said, "Sister... Sister, what are we supposed to

    do? You offended them!"

Looking at the two women walking toward her with clenched fists, Rejo was also a little

frightened, but thinking about what they had just said, Rejo felt sick. She retched on the side.

The two women had already pounced on her, and Rejo was caught off guard and got a scratch

on the face. Rejo got angry. Although she did not have the practical experience of fighting, she

wouldn''t allow helself to be bullied by them at will, so she took out all the strength and entangled

    with them.

Women fighting was nothing more than scratching and biting. Rejo got the hang of it on her own

in no time. The girl huddling in the corner looked at them, and then she clenched her teeth and

pounced over. She said, "Sister, let me help you!"

Even with an assistant, Rejo was still no rival to them.
