La shook her head unbelievably at what Shane said. ” You know that’s impossible right? ” She asked rhetorically.


    ” Just say Yes. I’ll find a way ” Shane said instead. ” I’m sorry, but I can’t ” La muttered and Shane smiled lightly.


    ” So, why are you here? ” La asked, trying to clear off the intense atmosphere.


    ” Well… ” Shane paused briefly, tucking his hands into his pockets. ” I gave you the flowers already ” He pointed at the banquet sitting on the table where La had ced it.


    ” And I’m also here to inform you about this job idea I have for you ” He said and La raised her brows. ” Job?? ” La asked and he nodded.


    ” Yeah.. My secretary at work needs an assistant. And I think you might want to fill in that post. I would pay you hugely ” He said and La’s brows raised the more.


    ” But, why me? I mean you could get other people for the job? ” She asked. ” I just want you, I want you to have the job since you seem to be in need of a job ” He exined.


    ” But I… ”


    ” You can tell me what you thinkter. Think about it and give me a feedback ” He said, cutting her off with a light smile.


    La nodded anyways. ” Alright then, I will take my leave ” He said, gesturing at the door and La nodded.


    ” Yeah, Bye ” She muttered and Shane smiled before walking his way out of their apartment while La followed behind to bade him goodbye.


    She watched as he got into his car and she waved lightly at him. He smiled before driving off.


    La sighed as she walked back into their apartment. As much as she would have loved to work in a bigpany like Shane’s. She can’t.. she’s only going to worsen things.


    She had leave her initial job ’cause she was trying to avoid seeing him daily so her feelings wouldn’t increase the more for him. But now, he’s offering her a job at hispany,, as his secretary. This clearly guarantee that she would be seeing him daily and frequently.


    Should she ept his offer?? She sighed as she walked straight into her room still in thoughts. ” He seems like a gentleman now ” She muttered to herself and then suddenly chuckled. She’s d at least that he isn’t trying to force her into epting his request.


    As much as she would love to date him, it’s just the fact that he’s married. Shee can’t do that, it would be totally wrong and she’s damn sure her mom’s gon’ be so against it.


    Not only her mom, including her dad. Her herself, she wouldn’t want that. She never loved rivalry. Two people trying to get the same thing, she hates it. She’s always the quick one to give up easily.


    But it would really be a great thing if she gets to work in Shane’spany, as his assistant secretary. That’s a great thing right? She would get a good pay.


    She would try considering this. She’s sure if Mirah’s aware she would urge her to do it without dy.

    ” Wow. That’s nice,e on tell him you’re interested ” Mirah gushed happily immediately La told her about the job offer.


    ” I know but… ”


    ” Come on, the pay would be good. He’s rich and he has a soft spot for you, I’m damn sure he would pay you hugely ” Mirah gushed and La nodded.


    ” I know right? But you know that was the main reason why I had left Mocha Coffee Shop,, ’cause of him. I wanted to stop this feelings I’m having for him. Come to think of it, if I work with him, as his secretary. I would get to see him daily and that’s only going to worsen the matter ” She exined and Mirah groaned and then with a shrug.


    ” Come on, that doesn’t matter, you could try to avoid him. Just go there, be professional and do your work and that’s all ” Mirah said and La let out a scoff. ” Quit talking like it’s gonna be as easy as you have said ” She said with a little groan and Mirah moved closer to her, poking her arm.


    ” Come on, just try ” Mirah urged, pleading with her. ” Alright, I’ll think about it ” La replied and Mirah scoffed. ” You should call him right now and update him that you’re interested ” Mirah snapped but La shook her head.


    ” I would wait for his call instead. And I will inform him by then ” She said and Mirah scoffed. ” You got some ego huh? ” She teased and La chuckled.


    ” Yeah whatever. So how was your date? ” She asked, changing the topic. ” It was fine. Ryan is such a nice guy ” Mirahplimented and La coughed knowingly.

    ” The guy, Ryan. You seem interested in him ” La said and she scoffed. ” Not at all. I just think he’s cool but I don’t like him that way. I still have a crush on Bryan ” She muttered thest word dreamily.


    ” Bryan Maynard? ” La asked like she wasn’t aware. Mirah hissed out loudly before walking out on her, straight into their room.


    La walked after herughing out loudly. ” What? Are you angry? ” La teased and Mirah scoffed. ” You can leave my room now ” She snapped and La burst into another round ofughter.


    ” Your room? Dude it’s our room! ” La teased and Mirah groaned inwardly and wrapped the duvet over her head.

    ” Bryan Maynard ” La muttered as a smile yed on her lips.

    ” I would leave then ” He said and Shane nodded. us walked out of Shane’s office and almost immediately, Alec walked in.


    ” What’s up dude? ” He announced his arrival ad he walked over to Shane. Shane raised his head and then let out a smile. ” What’s up? ” He greeted and they both exchanged pleasantries.

    ” Great ” Shane replied. ” So, any update? ” Alec asked and Shane shook his head. ” Not really.. we still on it. She’s really insisting on not agreeing to this ” Shane exined. ” You seem okay. I mean you don’t look sad as I thought you would look ” Alec said.


    ” Yeah I’m okay. I’m not really that worried. I have this feeling she feels the same way I feel, and I’mma keep persisting her. And I have a n on doing so ” He muttered and Alec raised his brows.


    ” And how do you n on doing that? ”  He asked. ” Well, I offered her a job here as an assistant secretary… ”

    ” us keeps insisting on getting Tina an assistant, and I offered La the job ” He exined.


    ” And what was her reply? ”


    ” She said she would think about it, and I have this hunch she would be epting it and when she does, I would try my possible best to win her heart ” Shane said and Alec couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute his friend looked when saying that.


    ” Guy, you’re gone. So gone in love ” Alec teased and Shane chuckled.

    La took in deep breaths. ” I meant, I would work in yourpany… as an assistant secretary ” She muttered and Shane chuckled inwardly. He was just teasing her.


    ” Yeah I know you meant that. Just thought of teasing you ” He said and La scoffed out loudly.


    ” Teasing my foot ” She snapped and Shane couldn’t help but chuckle out loudly. ” I missed this crazy side of you. I can’t wait to see you start working in mypany tomorrow ” He muttered and La raised her brows, tho he couldn’t see her. ” Tomorrow? ”
