Chapter 317: Knight Alaric

Mr. Wadsworth noticed ric''s expression after seeing Chaloem. However, he decided not to ask about it for now.

Instead, he invited him inside the Manor while one of the Super Soldiers took the horse to the stable.

As they led Sir ric into the Manor, Mr. Wadsworth started sharing a bit of information about the Springriver Manor and the fact that the Foreign Survivor who owns this ce was absent at the moment.

ric listened attentively while also surveying his new home… He noticed that aside from the formidable wall, there were also barriers the naked eye couldn''t see deployed on each wall.

He also liked that a stream of water was running through the estate. As long as this water was protected from any form of contamination or they had a method to filter it, then this shelter would certainly thrive.

He also noticed the orchard, the farm, the smithy, and various structures and felt really satisfied with this ce.

"Now, can you tell me more about yourself? I want to ensure I''ll be putting you in the correct task." Mr. Wadsworth said.

At this time, Bart and Keh had also arrived at the manor as they were curious about the new recruit.

"This is Bartholomew, our brewer… The man beside him is Keh, an educator…" Mr. Wadsworth calmly said as he introduced the two.

ric smiled and greeted them before he began to share his story.

"I was once a knight in a distantnd, sworn to protect my people from the undead creatures. We faced many battles, but none as fierce as the one that nearly imed my life. The zombies we fought had red eyes and moved with terrifying speed, crouching like hunting wolves. They were all fierce, and my squadron was almost annihted."

He paused, his eyes distant as he recalled the traumatic battle. "There were only three of us left, fighting desperately to survive. Just when we thought all hope was lost, a monk appeared. He moved with incredible speed and power, annihting hundreds of zombies alone. His name was Chaloem."

The three who were listening were in awe, their eyes wide with admiration. They didn''t think that this person was connected to that powerful monk.

''So that''s the reason he reacted like that after seeing the monk… This is interesting.'' Mr. Wadsworth said.

To be honest, he was quite confused about the timeline or the appearance of the Zombies. After all, they seemed to be present in the long past and in modern times.

However, those who came from the past era seemed to describe thend as having been fully conquered by the Zombies already. But if that were the case, there wouldn''t be a way for humans to advance.

''There''s indeed something wrong with the appearance of the Zombies… No wonder Sir Shane asked me topile everyone''s history before being taken by the Mysterious Gray Fog.'' Mr. Wadsworth said as he recalled Shane''s instructions.

Apparently, Shane had been skeptical about the government''s research project that he had found. After all, if the Zombie Virus was created by modern-day gene researchers, then there shouldn''t be Zombies in the Middle age era!

It was as if there was a deliberate maniption of history to mess it up, or perhaps there was another exnation for the appearance of the zombies in the past.

Anyway, it was for Shane to discover the origin of the Zombie Virus and find a cure for it. He was only here to assist him as much as he could.

Mr. Wadsworth smiled as he just continued noting the story that he heard.

"After that event, my fellow knights and I decided to learn from Monk Chaloem. We followed him to the mountains, where he taught us the art of using Aura. It was a grueling training, but we emerged stronger and more capable."

    Sir ric''s expression darkened.

"When we finally descended from the mountains, we found that the Zombie Outbreak had spread far and wide. We fought valiantly, but we were almost killed once again. This time, however, the mystical Gray Fog saved us, transporting me here."

"Ohhh~ So you havepanions left in that fog?! Haha… I hope they won''t get recruited to an enemy shelter. They''d definitely get killed by the leader of this shelter. He''s ruthless, you know?" Bartughed as if it wasn''t a big deal.

Keh could only shake his head and hope that ric''spanion would also get recruited to this ce.

As Sir ric finished his story, Alexa, the chef of the estate, arrived to inform ric that his weing food was ready. Two of her assistants had actually carried it to the manor''s reception room.

"I don''t know how long you''ve stayed there in the fog, soe and have some food first," Alexa said as she brought food for the new recruit.

    "How about us?" Bart asked.

"Haa… You just finished your meal. Wait for your dinnerter. Right, give me three bottles of your wine, and I''ll give one of the MREs…" Alexa said.

This MRE was directly given to her by Shane and wasn''t owned by the Manor, so Mr. Wadsworth didn''t mind it.

"Ugh… Two bottles!" Bart said to negotiate.

    "Deal!" Alexa immediately replied.

After an hour had passed, ric had already started looking around the estate. He was apanied by Lady Seraph, who was basically the leader of the patrol groups.

Though both of them were knights, they were apparently not colleagues as they were serving different lords.

As they were chatting about their possible connection in the past, a figure stepped forward and blocked their path to the orchard.

It was Monk Chaloem, his presence was calm and serene.

"It seems fate has brought us together once more, ric," The monk said with his gentle voice.

Sir ric''s eyes widened before a smile curved on his lips.

"Sir Chaloem! I thought you didn''t recognize me. I never thought I would see you again."

Monk Chaloem smiled, his eyes twinkling with warmth.n/?/vel/b//in dot c//om
