Chapter 42 You Can Trust Me
Lillian rolled her eyes and pushed his hands away. He was always not serious. If he wanted to stay, he
could stay, she won’t stop him.
"Where''s Zoe''s father? Why is he so indifferent?" Archibald asked suddenly.
Lillian was taken aback, Archibald was just asking, he didn''t expect her to answer. After a while, he
heard her apathetic voice, "I don''t know who Zoe''s father is."
Archibald crossed his arms, and raised his eyebrows when he heard her answer, "It seems that you
really picked up this child from the streets." She didn’t even know who the child''s biological father was.
Lillian''s eyes were fixed on the child''s face, and she said very slowly with a low voice, "Zoe is my
sister''s child. My sister died in a car ident three years ago. She has never told me who the child''s
father is."
"She is a single mother, she’s really great." Archibald nodded slightly, and said, "The most authoritative
person on the heart surgery is the American doctor Ada. It is best if we can invite him to treat Zoe."
Lillian was stunned. She also heard Stephen mention this doctor, but it was not easy to invite him.
Moreover, Stephen said that Dr. Ada would not easily go to other countries for medical treatment. It is
even more impossible for Zoe to go to the United States. She was worse than before; she could not
stand the journey.
"My grandfather is getting older and he is not as healthier as he used to be, so the Hawkins has
frequent contact with authoritative doctors. I can help you contact Dr. Ada." Seeing her lowering her
head, Archibald understood her plight.
When Lillian heard this, her eyes lit up instantly, and she grabbed his hand with excitement, "Are you
serious?"Content from N?velDr(a)ma.Org.
Archibald nced at the hand she was holding, and slightly curled his lips, "Well, I will try my best."
This was affirmation from Lillian’s perspective. She didn''t understand why, she just believed him and
believed that he could invite Doctor Ada.
She turned her gaze back to Zoe''s face, with a faint light of hope in her eyes. She did not realize that
the hand she was holding had now been held back by him, and his big hand firmly wrapped hers, which
seemed to be able to keep out the wind and rain for her.
Lillian stayed in the hospital for three days until Zoe’s condition was stable.
She waspletely exhausted when she went back to Oxdrift. She nned to take a good rest, but
she didn''t expect Sebastian to be there.
Dressed up in home clothes, he sat on the sofa and read the newspaper. He saw Lillian with a haggard
face, and her clothes were messy. He frowned unpleasantly, “Where have you been? Why don''t you go
home these few days?”
Lillian didn''t know when Sebastian moved back. She was tired now and had no time to argue with him.
She said lightly, “I took care of Zoe in the hospital.” She walked straight to her room.
Sebastian put down the newspaper, he got up and walked towards her, and caught her at the door of
her room.
"You didn''t terminate the contract with the radio station." He was querying rather than asking. He had
clearly told her to terminate the contract and join hispany.
"No, the radio station has settled with me privately. They offered nice treatment. I don''t think there is
any need to terminate the contract." She replied weakly.
Sebastian squeezed her arm hard and said, “Lillian, I told you to terminate the contract. Why didn’t you
listen? Are you really going to put yourself under the patronage of Archibald?”
Lillian endured the slight pain in her arm. She closed her eyes helplessly, took a deep breath and said
as calmly as possible, “Sebastian, what does this have to do with Archibald?” When she opened her
eyes, she looked at him coldly and ironically.
After thewsuit, the report about her was that she was the mistress of his. If not, how could Sebastian,
who never let any woman get close, hire awyer for her? How could he hold her hand in front of the
reporters and let her get in his car?
It was ridiculous because she was his legal wife and now, she was regarded as his concubine, his
mistress was regarded as his wife.
"Don''t you know? Why do you think the radio station suddenly withdrew thewsuit? Why did they give
you such a generous treatment?" Sebastian rose his tone suddenly, staring at her coldly, telling the
truth word by word, "Because they made a deal with Archibald. Do you really think that he is naive?"
Lillian looked at Sebastian in a daze, and the sudden truth made her speechless.
No wonder that everything went so smoothly, it turned out that Archibald was messing about.
A shallow smile bloomed on her face, and she was still very calm, "So what? What does this have to do
with me?"
"Lillian!" He screamed. What was her attitude?
"Don''t tell me that you don''t understand at all. Why did he do that? After all, he’s man. He wants what
men want."
"Sebastian, I can tell you honestly. So far, Archibald and I are clean. I didn’t cheat on you. Don''t be
nervous. If Archibald really wants to sleep with me. He doesn’t have to make a deal. He can just be
himself to get me instead of spending so much money on meaningless things. He is a businessman
who knows how to make himself profit."
Sebastian was rendered speechless for a while, and suddenly he sneered coldly, "I didn''t expect you to
know him that much. So, you really want to be fucked by him, right?"
Lillian was trembling slightly. She could pretend to not see those ignorant reports and bestial words, but
now they were spoken by her husband. It was like an arrow filled with venom which pierced through her
heart, and the toxin could kill her immediately.
Lillian lowered her voice, "Sebastian, I’m so tired, let’s leave each other alone, okay? You and Joanna
go live your life, I live my own, don’t interfere with me again, okay?"
For a moment, Sebastian saw no vitality in her eyes, that kind of silence that seemed to be surpassing
everything hit him hard, and he loosened his hands suddenly.
Lillian, who was relieved, turned and walked into her room silently, and closed the door.
Sebastian was still standing there, his mind was filled with her lonely back when closing the door, and
he suddenly tightly sped his hands.
Joanna was no longer in a serious situation after rest-cure. She didn''t expect Sebastian to pack up and
move back to Oxdrift as soon as the doctor announced that she was in good health. He was unwilling
to stay no matter how she acted shamelessly.
Sebastian said that Oxdrift was the house given to him by his parents. It would be inappropriate for him
not to live there, not to mention that his mother would asionally visit him there.
Joanna thought it was his excuse. Eleanor had obviously changed her opinion after this incident, and
even had a good impression of her. She was sure that Eleanor will not prevent them being together.
Then there was only one reason, and the reason was Lillian.
