Amidst his walk toward the Adventure Association, Xu Feng secretly grinned when he spotted a few discreet yers hiding from the corner.
They were unable to listen to their conversation due to the restricted area in the zone he was in with Zhao Kai.
However, that didn''t stop them from knowing they were having some sort of conversation.
It was especially true when they witnessed Zhao Kai storming off with a determined expression.
''Go and inform your superior about Kai. I can''t wait to see them waste all their efforts in defending a decoy.'' Xu Feng mused and acted as if he had never spotted them in the first ce.
As Xu Feng entered the Adventure Association, those who had been spying on Zhao Kai after noticing the guild emblem on his chest, quickly returned to their respective hideout. Or more specifically, the ce they were lodging.
At a Tavern not owned by the Vanguard guild, a shadowy figure emerged.
"Guild Captain, I''ve found something." The shadowy figure quickly eximed and hoped to report theirtest finding to their Captain, just three ranks beneath the guild leader.
The Sris Guild Captain ke stood up in confusion. "What findings did you get for you to lose yourposure, Frost Rogue?"
Frost Rogue was the shadowy figure in-game name and was of Gunner ss.
He nced around and upon noticing that there were other guilds, Frost Rogue realized his guild captain, ke''s reaction.
"S-Sorry, I found some discounted prices in the shop and wanted us to hoard them." Frost Rogue smiled awkwardly and exined his loss ofposure.
Of course, ke understood the code and nodded. "Alright, then let''s go to the room and see how much funds we can get."
Sometimeter, the two went to their rented room in the Tavern under the confused eyes of many. Once the room of the door was closed and no eavesdroppings were possible, ke''s expression turned solemn.
"So what did you find out about this mysterious Vanguard guild?" ke questioned authoritatively.
"Yes, we''ve discovered a person that goes by the name Shadow de had met up with someone. The other person didn''t have a guild emblem attached, but I''m positive that their ranking is extremely high." Frost Rogue reported.
"Wait a minute… We?" ke cut him off as he was confused by this particr word. "Are you saying there are others that discover this along with you?"
"Yes… but we didn''t talk to each other. We were all just following Shadow de and investigating on our own." Afraid of being misunderstood, Frost Rogue quickly exined himself.
"Do you know which guild or team they are from?"
As if expecting such a question, Frost Rogue did his best to make a list of the people he did recognize. "Among the ones I recognized, they came from Astral Guild, Starlight Guild, Phoenix Guild, and Lunar Striker Adventure Team."
"Tsk, all of them are annoying people." ke clicked his tongue in irritation.
It was no surprise that Frost Rogue knew about them considering there were numerous small shes between them on a daily basis.
"Should I investigate the unknown ones as well?" Frost Rogue suddenly asked.
"No need," ke shook his head.
"The priority now is to understand the gist of the Vanguard Guild. To be able to topple a behemoth like the Reaver Guild, one can never lower their guard against them."
"Then should I follow the person that Shadow de met up with?"
"No, you will continue to follow Shadow de and figure out what he''s up to."
Contrary to Frost Rogue''s mind, ke was more cautious of their actions now that they had practically arrived at the territory of the Vanguard guild.@@novelbin@@
At the moment, following Shadow de was their limit, and crossing the lines would result in not-so-friendly conflicts.
"The Guild Leadermanded that we are to work with the Vanguard Guild and find out their strength in the process. But under no cause are we to make an enemy of them. Is that clear?" ke warned sternly.
"Yes, Captain!" Frost Rogue stood straight and nodded in understanding.
While this conversation was urring within the Sris Guild, simr types of conversation were happening elsewhere with the other guilds who had equally decided to ce more attention on Shadow de.
Just the mere fact that the Vanguard guild had yet to do anything against them when following someone from their guild meant silent approval. They refused to believe someone who had the status of an Overlord would be so blind as to not realize their actions.
And these guilds weren''t wrong to believe that, except with one minor difference.
It wasn''t that the Vanguard guild didn''t do anything to them, but the fact that they couldn''t due to theck of manpower. Or rather, theck of trusted people that Xu Feng could assign the tasks to.
The member counts of the Vanguard guild continued to rise, but only a few margins of yers were able to rank up from Recruit to Junior Member.
As the surface of the Star Falls City remained peaceful despite the undercurrent, Xu Feng no longer ced his mind on them as he was busy conversing— negotiating with Jessica.
"Jessica, you should know I contributed a lot to the revitalization of Star Falls City, right?" Xu Feng smiled amicably as he crossed his legs.
"Yes, that''s an undeniable truth." Jessica smiled and nodded in agreement. Explore new worlds at empire
Despite their friendly smiles though, there seemed to be an invisible battle shing and undergoing within their eyes. It was as if their eyes were capable of shootingsers or something equivalent of some sort.
"Since you know it''s an undeniable truth, then it isn''t much if I asked to construct a 2-star Guild Residence in the empty plot ofnd located at the prime location, right?" Xu Feng brought up his intention and gazed intensely at Jessica.
"But Baron Lin Feng, you should know that to promote your residence, you need a parchment certificate as permission." Jessica pursed her lips. "The best I can do is nullify the payment fee needed to help construct a 1-star Guild Residence for you."
