Chapter 21 Annoyance


    The outdoor runway was teeming with arge crowd waiting for the show to begin. Right after Amber


    slipped her feet into the pair of high heels, she bit the bullet and stepped onto the runway without


    having any makeup on her face.


    It was freezing outside. Amber was positive that she had never felt this cold before in her life.


    Lively music was ring out of the speakers to spice up the event. Amidst the falling snow, Amber tried


    hard to look calm andposed while standing behind the rest of the models.


    She felt so embarrassing wearing the revealing costume that she felt like crying. Yet, she had no


    choice but to hold her tears back.


    The spectators, who were pleasantly surprised to see so much skin at the event, went uproarious and


    started whistling at the modelssciviously. None of them was bothered by the bitterly cold weather


    because the appealing sight was enough to keep them warm.


    Meanwhile, Liam was examining the financial reports of thepany with Mr. Jackson’s assistance.

    Mr. Jackson wondered why Liam’s attention was drawn to the fashion show poorly run by a seedy

    show is held to encourage people to adopt a more active lifestyle and pay more attention to their


    health,” he exined.


    Liam’s face turned grim when he saw Amber.


    Seeing his reaction, Mr. Jackson’s pulse started racing in apprehension. “What’s going on? Does Mr.


    Croft think the fashion show is a bad idea? Does he think the models are dressed too scarcely, and it’s


    not good for thepany’s image?” he wondered.


    “Mr. Croft, shall we go and check out the event?” Mr. Jackson ventured. His heart was pounding like a


    sledgehammer, and he could hardly put up with the awkward silence.


    Liam raised his brow in a nomittal way with his brooding eyes still fixed on the runway. No one


    could gauge his emotion from his poker-faced expression.


    Mr. Johnson took his silence as consent. After wiping the sweat off his forehead, he shot a look at his


    subordinates.


    With that, they escorted Liam to the za outside the shopping mall.


    The models were sashaying along the runway and striking the best pose they could manage. The


    crowd responded to their performance with rapturous cheers and apuse.

    Standing in the most inconspicuous corner of the runway, Amber looked petite among the models. Her


    long hair was tied back into a loose ponytail, and she was wearing a two-piece ck bikini which


    revealed arge area of her curvy and beautiful body. Although the way she walked on the runway was


    amateurish, her youthful and vivacious aura made up for her shorings.


    When Liam set his sight on her luminous and fair skin, he could feel desire burning inside him.


    Then, he scanned the crowd and found they were mostly made up of men his age. Their scious


    eyes were riveted on the models. Some of them were even taking photos of the models with their


    phones.


    Seeing that, Liam’s eyes turned frosty, and his lips were pursed in displeasure.


    Amber did not notice Liam at all as she was fervently praying for her bikini straps to stay in ce. She


    was very worried that the entire bikini, which was tied to her back somewhat loosely due to the time


    constraint earlier, might fall off at any minute.


    To avoid the disastrous situation, she tried her best to keep her steps as steady as possible. One


    slightly bigger movement and she would instantly go naked in front of the crowd.


    The high heels she was wearing were a pain in the ass too.


    The size of the shoes was not a good fit for her, so the straps were grazing her heels and making her


    miserable with every step she took.


    Out of curiosity, Mr. Jackson followed where Liam was staring.


    At one nce he was able to recognize Amber as the girl they encountered in the corridor earlier.


    Inspiration hit him at the moment. After years of trying to curry favor with Liam, Mr. Jackson was d


    that he finally discovered the right way to do it.


    He sized Amber up to see what was so special about the girl. Obviously, she was not the gorgeous and


    sexy type. Her hair was not properly styled, and she did not even haverge breasts. Although she was


    quite good-looking, she was far from a stunner. The only thing that made her stand out was her fair and


    wless skin.


    Just then, the models turned around and struck a new pose. Mr. Jackson narrowed his eyes when he


    noticed Amber’s nice and firm butt. “I bet that’s what caught Mr. Croft’s eyes just now…” he mused.


    After some contemtion, Mr. Jackson beckoned one of his subordinates over and whispered some


    instruction to him. His subordinate nced at Liam with a knowing smile before making a hurried


    exit.
