Chapter 11: 11. My Confession


    D’s PoV


    After lunch, again my dad, uncle, and Rishi sat for little talks! Dad insisted on taking us right after lunch.


    But uncle said no. He wanted us to stay for tea.


    I took my mom sisters and Ravi to my room(hehe the room I’m staying in) to continue my exnation.


    "So yes! Rishi is my school senior! I mean not an immediate senior. He was in 12th grade when I was


    in 8th grade. We had a connection back then! Kinda crush! It was mutual on both sides. He would look


    at me in the mornings, intervals, lunch and evenings after school! I don’t think he remembers or


    recognizes me now. But I felt that connection with him even now. I felt it so right to marry him! So, I


    made the decision to marry him." when I saw them looking hard at me I continued.


    ”So please don’t think that you pushed me to this wedding mee! I’m so confident I can work it out! I


    want you guys to remain patient."


    Shanu is now looking at me like I’m totally insane. Actually, when everything was on my mind it all


    sounded great. I mean like I have married my first crush. I’m so lucky to have seen him.It felt like a fairy


    tale. But when I voiced out, it all sounded like crap! Who in the right mind will marry a man who is in


    love with some other girl?! I feel so stupid now. He doesn’t even recognize me. He had no idea why I


    married him. He must be thinking that I am a lunatic. Shanu started talking when I was regretting telling


    this useless story to them all!


    "Did you hear yourself? You sound pathetic. We know you are so immature amongst us. But I don''t


    know that you are a nutcase. Idiot this is a blunder. He didn’t even recognise you. And to top it all he is


    in love with another girl."


    "Will you please stop it?" Ravi stopped Shanu from going on further.


    "My brother didn’t love her. That girl was behind my brother."


    "And your brother will marry any and every girl whoes behind him?" Shanu snapped out on him.


    "No! He didn’t know what love is! He never had any friends that are girls. He avoided every girl that


    tried to befriend him. He is not a jovial type of guy. He has very little friends and all boys. When this girl


    approached him, he just tried to help and got trapped by her charms. He never knew her real


    character."


    "And he is a sessful business-man! No kid will believe what you say. Do you mean to say your


    brother is a stupid who loved a girl without knowing the real her!?"


    "You are testing my patience Shanvi!"


    "Whoa whoa! Guys stop it." I stopped them from a fight.


    "Aunty! I know my brother. He is so short tempered. If he didn’t like this marriage he would have


    stopped it. Because if he said no nobody is going to force him."


    "What if he was confused at that moment and decided to marry D and now regretting that decision?"


    Shanu reasoned.


    "Aunty! If that was the case, then he would have made a havoc in this house. You guys wouldn’t be


    here. And Anni will be in a bad state. You just ask anni if he behaved bad to her."


    My mom looked at me!


    "He is so nice to me. He even talked to me like a friend. He is not angry at me. I still believe I made no


    mistake in taking this decision. I just want some time!"


    "You are nuts! you are going to tell this stupid story to mama right now and make him recognise you


    and sort things out between you. I want you to live a life of happiness and love. Not some serial heroine


    kind of life." Shanu stated."And you! you are going to take care of my stupid sister here. If she suffers


    then I’m


    going to bring all this to dad." She said the first half pointing to Ravi and the second half to me.


    All this while Daksha was staring at me with shock. I shuffled her hair and she looked straight at me.


    "Hey what happened to you, de? Are you not going to scold me like Shanu did?" I asked her.

    "What the hell just happened? You had a LOVE MARRIAGE that was arranged by dad!? and he had no


    idea about that!? OMG! Your life is just like princess stories! You can tell this story to your kids as a


    bed-time story! A so cool! I hope I will have the same kind of wedding! But I have so many


    crushes. I don’t mind if one of them happen to be my husband!"


    Iughed at herment! She is so cool. She lightened the situation and helped me. Even my mom


    smiled at her over dramatic dialog. Raviughed with me while Shanu red at her.


    "Danya honey I believe in you. If you think you can work it out then try it. But remember, we are always


    here for you and we will not judge you. I want my dear girl to live a happy life. You are so dear to us


    Danya. Daksha always talks loud like your dad and gets her things done. Your dad is lenient on Shanvi,


    he let’s her go to her friends ce or go to shops on her own to buy her own stuff. But you sweety, you


    are our first born and he is so protective of you. You might have felt like being in jail! You didn’t have a


    phone or you were allowed to go out. Everything you need was given to you without you going out. I


    mean we never let you go out alone! I wanted your dad to let you breathe. But he always says that you


    are so naive!"


    "Now I feel dad is right." Shanu interrupted.


    "Shanu!" My mom gave her a stern look and she turned away.


    "Danya honey take your time. I wish you all the best. Go get your life!" I hugged my mom tight.


    "Thank you, mee. I may be naive! But I’m not ignorant. You guys please don’t worry about me." I pulled


    Shanu for a hug.


    "Please don’t be mad at me de. I may have sounded stupid but trust me I am not. I can tell you that he


    has this feeling for me just like I have for him. We both need time. I’m going to be happy. Anyways if my


    marriage is a regr kind ,I would be engaged to a stranger and we would have had some 3months


    time from engagement to wedding in which we would have talked and get to know each other and by


    the time we marry we might be in love right. Now I want you all to trust me on this. By the end of


    3months from now, Rishi will be my loving husband. I can assure you that much." Shanu returned my


    hug and Daksha came in. We pulled my mom in and had a group hug!


    "That is one happy family. Now are you guys gonna let me in, in your group hug?" Ravi asked, looking


    at Shanu.


    I knew there was something going on. My mom smiled at him and gave him a hug and caressed his


    cheek.


    "Please be with my daughter kanna. She doesn’t know how to go out on her own. She has grown up in


    Trichy and she knows no ce there. Wee to Coimbatore only on vacations. She knows only my


    parents and uncle''s parents’ home. She doesn’t even know the route or address though. She is new to


    this city. Please take good care of her."


    "I already told you aunty. She is the queen of this home. She orders and she gets what she wants ! We


    will protect her more than you did."


    Whaat? Hahaha D you escaped a lock-up and ended in central prison! You still think this guy is a


    friend? Come on D. Your mom is telling you can’t even navigate your home. She even said you are


    naive! Now hearing all these Ravi is going to treat you like just dad did!

    "Nuh Nah! Not happening, Ravi. You are so not going to treat me like my dad did." I said in horror.


    Heughed! " I meant to say you can do whatever you please and we will support you! Your wish is our


    command! I mean mymand for now!"


    We had our tea and started to our home with Rishi!
