Chapter 1677
Acar was simply a means of transportation for Sherry. Her car might not be big or luxurious, but it wasfortable to drive
around.
When the light turned green, Carl stepped on the elerator. With an enchanting smile lingering on his face, he said, “I’ve
already booked it. It will reach Coastrock on our engagement day.”
Sherry frowned. “I really don’t want it. Give it to someone else.”
After all, it was just a fake engagement. She was more than grateful for Lisa and thepany’s kindness. The sports car must
cost a fortune, and if she epted it from Carl, what must she do to return the favor?
Carl said, “I want to give it to you. Just take it as an engagement present.”
Sylvia ignored him, but he smiled and continued driving.
Awhileter, the car stopped in front of a restaurant adorned with ssic Mediterranean architecture.
Sherry got out of the car together with Carl, and the waiters came out to wee them. One of the waiters smiled and said, “Mr.
Sager, Ms. Fowler, your room is ready.”
Sherry and Carl were led to a VIP room on the second floor.Exclusive content from N?velDrama.Org.
When the waiter opened the door, the dim environment inside surprised Sherry. It was sunny and bright outside, but the curtains
in the VIP room were closed. Only candles were used to light up the room.
The row of candles was lined up neatly on the long table. There were fresh rose petals scattered across the floor and the table.
Sherry was rendered speechless by the seemingly romantic scene.
Meanwhile, in the presidential suite of the five-star hotel opposite Sherry’s ce, Caprice. had just fallen asleep on the bed.
John stood by the window, and his eyes were glued to the apartment opposite the hotel.
It had been six hours since Sherry left this morning, and she had note back yet.
Ding.
His phone rang. It was Jason.
He answered the call and put his phone beside his ear. “Where is she?”
Jason said in a small voice, “Sir, the bodyguard assigned to follow Ms. Fowler said she just
came out from Mrs. Sager’s ce and went to a restaurant in the suburbs with Mr. Sager.”
She went to a restaurant with Carl at this hour?
John’s gaze turned grim. “Are they having lunch?”
Jason’s voice grew softer as he said, “Yes. They are in a VIP room with the windows and curtains shut, seemingly having a
candlelight lunch.”
Windows and curtains shut? A candlelight lunch?
John frowned. His expression was disheartened.
Jason did not hear a reply from his boss, so he continued, “Sir, do we need to send someone to intercept them?”
“No. Just watch her and don''t let her find out,” John said in a deep voice.
“Yes, sir.”
The call ended, and John put his phone away. His eyes were still glued to the apartment entrance opposite the hotel.
It was quiet. He stood by the window for quite a while, but his hand clenched tighter by the second and almost crushed his
phone.
When she left in the morning, she said she woulde back for Caprice, but not only did she spend half a day at Lisa’s ce,
she even had a candlelight lunch with Carl.
Was she really nning to marry Carl?
