Chapter 1231 Shey still and allowed the breeze to wrap her with chilliness. Her tears uncontrobly trickled down the edge of
her eyes.
The man obviously used her as a tool to vent his sexual desires.
At Carter Residence, Westchester City, Odell grabbed his phone and went to the balcony after his wife practically shoved him out
of bed.
Sylvia followed him to the balcony with a worried heart.
After the call, she asked, “How’s Sherry?”
Odell furrowed his brows. “My men were arranged to work in other ces. They are not in the Stocktons‘ residence, so they
have no updates on her.” Sylvia‘s eyes shrunk in shock. She asked, “They were all transferred somewhere else?”
“Mm-hmm. John might have found out that they are my men.”
The depressing news fueled Sylvia‘s anxiety. “He''s as cunning as a fox!”
Odell walked to her and hugged her into his arms. He
whispered, “He used a few years to be the richest man in Glenchester, so he must have his ways. Don''t worry. I''ve already
arranged for more men to infiltrate the ce. We''ll get an update soon.” Sylvia simply hummed a reply since there was nothing
else she could do at the moment.
Sherry returned to her passive days of eating and sleeping. Queenie and Hailey visited her two dayster, probably worried that
she might be bored. They appeared outside the window and called out to her, “Sherry, we brought you some books. Maybe they
can help you kill some time.”
The books were ced in a box and tied to a rope.
Hailey held the box while Queenie swung the other end of the rope and tossed it up to the window.
Sherry swiftly caught the rope and started to pull the box up. Inside the box was a novel about some school romance, and a few
other smaller boxes of pastries.
As her eyes gleamed gratefully, she said, “Thanks.” Queenie grumbled, “Hmph. It''s nothing. | just don''t want you to die of
boredom.”
Sherry curled her lips at her and started munching on the pastries.
Eventually, Queenie‘s sulk faded when she saw Sherry munching on the pastries she brought. She then subtly nudged Hailey,
giving her the signal to speak.
Hailey immediately said, “Sherry, try to stay out of trouble and stop making Master John mad.”
Sherry‘s gaze went cold. She did not respond to Hailey‘s suggestion. In response , Hailey sighed. “Read a book. We''re leaving
now. We''lle to visit tomorrow.”
The two of them had onest nce at her before leaving the premises.
As soon as they walked out of the employees‘ quarters, Shannon came out from behind the tree outside the gate. She looked
toward Sherry‘s window.
Sherry looked miserable in her wretched state. Her hair was messy, her shirt was not properly worn, and she munched on the
pastries like a hungry wolf.
Her wretched state did not enlighten Shannon at all, Quite the opposite, Shannon''s gaze turned cold as she clenched her fists
tightly. It had been half a month since John came back to her. Ever since John caught Sherry meeting Mason, he left that

at the employees ‘ quarters . All she could do was watch from afar, and she could not even bring herself to speak to him. The
man would go to the employees‘ quarters every day, yet he refused to go back to his legitimate wife. The first thing he did every
time he came here was go to Sherry‘s room. He would leave after that, and he would not even visit Madam Stockton.
On top of all that, the most important thing would be the possibility of Sherry getting pregnant after sleeping with John multiple
times.
“Shannon? What are you doing here?”
Suddenly, Julie‘s voice came from the back. Shannon recovered herposure and turned around with a smile. “I haven''t seen
Sherry for a while, so | thought I''d visit.” Julie smiled. “I have something to discuss with Aunt Emerence. Why don''t we go in
together?”
