Chapter 2798

nce he departed, Dulcie was left alone in the vast room.

Overwhelmed by her emotions, she finally broke down.

Kyson seemed indifferent to her turmoil.

She had been profoundly distressed the previous day, yet he showed no concern.

Instead, today he mocked her, leaving her to wonder about his true feelings.

Did he view her as a mere convenience, to be cherished when he was in a good mood and discarded when not? Bound by professional decorum, she couldnt let her dissatisfaction show openly at work.

Retreating to her office, Dulcie immersed herself in her duties. She efficiently dispatched all required documents to Kysons office and made a swift exit, determined not to give him the opportunity to berate her.

After Dulcie stepped out, Kyson dialed a number.

Have the supplies reached the fishing vige at the border? Everythings been delivered as instructed, the voice on the other end confirmed.

    Okay, Kyson replied, hanging up.

Images of Gwen, strikingly simr to Lucinda, haunted him intermittently.

Looking up, he sensed Dulcies presence beyond his office, her diligence barely concealed by the blinds.

His thoughts in disarray, he retrieved a cigarette from a pack, Lit it, and deeply inhaled, the smoke mingling with his troubled thoughts.

Since thest staff meeting, Kyson had frequently assigned Dulcie the most menial tasks, even making her clean all the restrooms on the top floor. He was always rude when talking to her.

At first, Dulcie patiently endured his constant criticism and snide remarks.

She didnt want their rtionship to be so bad that it became unbearable.

After all, Kyson wasnt just her boss but her husband too.

Even though their rtionship was only on paper, she didnt want their marriage to be a joke.

One day, after emptying the trash cans on the top floor, Dulcie was sitting at her desk when her thoughts drifted back to the girl from the fishing vige who was by Kysons side on the day they found him.

That girl looked so much like Lucinda.

Of course, Dulcie knew how much Lucinda meant to Kyson. No one could ever take her ce in Kysons heart.

Suddenly, Dulcie felt her bones ache as an indescribable fatigue washed over her.

She rested her headzily on her desk while her recent interactions with Kyson came back to her mind.

Every time they spoke, it was always tit for tat.

Their exchanges were always full of tension and sharpness.

    She nced toward Kysons office.

Through the blinds, she could see him on the phone with a happy expression on his face.
