Liza was alone in the pitch-ck wine cer. Gunshots echoed from upstairs.
She desperately wanted to see what was happening, but the door had been locked.
Finally, the noise stopped. But the silence was even more unsettling.
Suddenly, the iron door creaked open. Liza hid in a corner, fearing the worst.
Then she heard Lara''s voice. "Miss Eaton, it''s me."
Liza peeked out from her hiding spot. Her voice shook as she asked, "What''s going on out there?"
Lara rushed in and helped her up. "Fermin... He killed everyone in the house."
Liza was stunned by the news.
"But don''t worry, his men didn''t find this ce," Lara reassured her, holding her hand tightly. "But you can''t stay here anymore. Fermin is worried about you. If he doesn''t find you, he might kill more people. If you go back to him and say you got lost, he won''t me you."
Liza was still reeling from the shock. Fermin had always been kind to her, never showing his ruthless side. But those gunshots...
"Are you okay?" she asked, noticing blood on Lara.
"I''m fine," Lara replied. "I''m the head of the Sharp family. Fermin won''t kill me. But if he doesn''t find you, I don''t know what he''ll do next."
Liza hesitated, thinking about her task of investigating Lara''s ties to the Illuminati. She couldn''t just leave like that.
"Miss Eaton?" Lara looked at her worriedly.
Liza felt guilty. If not for Lara, Fermin would have taken her. And so many servants had died because of her. "Okay, I''ll go," she said finally.
"Don''t worry about me." Lara heaved a sigh of relief. "Just tell him you got lost. He won''t bother me."
"But what about Debra?"
"I''ll talk to her. Nowe with me."
Lara led her out of the cer.
As they entered the main hall, the smell of blood was overpowering. Liza almost vomited. Lara covered her nose and mouth.<fn9e0d> ?? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???? ???????s, ????s? ??s?? find{n}ovel</fn9e0d>
