Firstly, Juan didn''t think udia would want to reunite with Jeffrey.
Secondly, he had long given up on the idea of aplete family.
He was used to being alone, and even if the world started over, nothing would
change. Jeffrey''s regret could not save their family.
"Let''s save these words for after we seed," Juan said, leaving the study.
In the hall, his men were already gathered. Jordan looked up at him.
"Everyone''s ready. When do we leave?"
"Anytime, but you can''te."
"What do you mean?"
"Only my father and I can go in. I need you to guard the outside."
Jordan was unhappy. "If it weren''t for me, you wouldn''t have located the treasure.
Now, do you want to burn the bridge and keep it all to yourself?"
"Not at all," Jeffrey interjected, walking up to Jordan and patting his shoulder. "We
need you to guard the outside. It''s a crucial task. I promise you''ll get your share of
the treasure."
He paused and added, "I know you don''t want to live in Andrew''s shadow forever.
Once we get the treasure, you can take his ce as the head of the Potter family.
Who would dare say no to you then?"
Jordan nodded. "Fine, but we need a
contract. You promised me 50% of
the treasure, and I want every
penny."
"Of course," Jeffrey smiled, then turned to Juan. "Has Fermin arrived yet?"
"Miss me?" a voice called out from the hall.
Fermin walked in, and Jeffrey''s face lit up. "I knew you wouldn''t miss this."
"How could I miss such a big event?" Fermin said. "I''m here for my half of the
treasure."
Jordan frowned. "Half of the treasure? Care to exin this?"
Jeffrey shrugged. "The treasure
doesn''t mean much to me. I just
want to see what it looks like. You
two can have it all. I won''t take a
cent."
Jordan frowned, wondering what he was really after, if not the treasure.
"Let''s go," Jeffrey said to Juan, leading the group to the Potter Mansion.
The Potters were all at the funeral,
and the estate was empty. When
Jeffrey and his men arrived, they
found the ce deserted.
Jeffrey frowned. "Joe, go check it out."
Joe nodded. "Yes, sir."
