Chapter 1386

"Fermin," Barton replied. "As you suspected, the Eaton family has secrets."

Andrew fell silent, staring at the monitor that disyed the footage from the day Gand jumped out of the window. He was unconscious for about a minute before he got up, brushed the dust off his clothes, and then looked directly at the camera.

The next second, the camera was shattered by a silenced pistol shot.

"The Eaton family heir has a split personality. If this went out, it would cause a huge scandal. No wonder Mr. Eaton Sr. has been trying to hide it."

"Sir, is he a friend or foe?" Barton asked.

"For now, he seems more like an enemy." Andrew paused before continuing, "Tell Marion and the others toe back."

After Barton left, Andrew tried to calm his unease. With Juan and Jordan there, Debra would not suffer much.

    ...

Debra slowly regained consciousness, recognizing the familiar surroundings of the Nichols Mansion. A doctor was by her side, bandaging her wounds.

Seeing that she was awake, the doctor immediately went to inform Juan. "All vital signs are normal and stable for now."

    Juan nodded. "You may leave."

After the doctor left, Juan entered Debra''s room. She was lying in bed, her eyes open.

Juan started, "Andrew used you as bait to trap us. It seems you''re not that important to him."

"If you''re here to kick me while I''m

down or drive a wedge, go ahead ret

she responded, closing her eyes. "I''m too tired to argue."

Juan continued, "Marion couldn''t save you. Do you regret choosing such a weak man?"

    Debra

    d silent, and he

added, "Your life is in my hands you tell me the location of the

    treasure, I might spare youvell

    Debra still said nothing.

Juan sighed, "I''ll give you one day to think about it. I''ll be back tomorrow and hear your answer."

Outside, the masked man heard their entire conversation.

"Juan, you''re too soft. We need to be ruthless with our enemies," he said as Juan came out.

"Killing a freshly caught prey is no fun." Juan shrugged. "It''s better to torment them for a while. Mental torture is much more painfulthan

    ical torture."

He looked at the man and continued, "You don''t need to wear a mask here, do you?"
