Chapter 1373

Vickie was touching up her makeup backstage when she heard themotion outside.

She asked with a frown, "What''s going on outside?"

"Miss Donaldson, it seems like the reporters are going to the press conference." "What?" Vickie stood up and looked outside.

Sure enough, only a few cameramen remained. Those reporters had vanished. "Where did they go? Why would they suddenly leave?" Vickie panicked.

There were only five minutes left before the ribbon-cutting ceremony. They would lose face if no one attended their event.

"Where''s Juan?" Vickie anxiously looked around, but there was no sign of him.

If the reporters didn''t return for the ceremony, all their efforts would go to waste.

"Madam, I''ve found out what happened," her assistant said. "Debra invited some of the most influential figures in the news industry to her event. The reporters caught wind of it and all rushed over."

"So, this is her n," Vickie muttered in surprise.

She had assumed that Debra would be too overwhelmed by the recent

controversy over her identity to focus on anything else.

But now, Debra didn''t seem troubled at all. The rumors about her being sick must be false.

Juan finally came down the stairs. Vickie hurried over. "Finally, you''re here. Do you have any idea what Debra..."

"I already know." Juan remainedposed. "The people Debra invited aren''t just anyone. We lost this round."

Vickie clenched her fists, unwilling to lose her first showdown with Debra.

Juan saw her expression and leaned in. "Fake is fake. You should know your ce."

He then left Vickie standing there biting her lip.

At the neighboring venue, Debra watched as all the reporters had arrived.

    She checked her. "Let''s begin."

She and Marion stepped into the center of the venue. The cameras shed continuously, capturing the moment.

Debra spoke up. "I believe everyone has heard the rumors circting online. Today, I''ll clear things up."

"Mrs. Houston. There are ims that you are not the real heiress of the Frazier family but merely a stand-in What do you have to say about that?"

    sked a reporter.

    "That''s nothing but baseless gossip,"

Debra replied, her voice steady. "K believe everyone here is smarte

    the

rightful heiress of the Frazier family.''

Her words sent a wave of murmurs through the crowd.

Just yesterday, Vickie had publicly dered herself to be the true heiress. It was hard to tell who was telling the truth and who was lying.

Debra continued, "Miss Donaldson has no evidence to prove that she is the real heiress. Meanwhile, we have conducted our investigation and uncovered some information regarding her background.
