"Sure." Ivan caught the dress.
Lara presented another box. "Mrs. Houston, there''s one more."
"Another one?" Debra opened the box to find a ck chiffon gown.
"It''s mine," Liza eximed, rushing over.
Seeing the beautiful gown, she beamed with joy. "This dress is called ck Sand
Star River. I should praise their good taste."
She held the gown up to herself, admiring it. Debra realized that the invitation was
extended to Liza as well.
Drake emerged from his study and looked down from the second floor. "What?
Feeling left out because someone else got a designer gown?"
"Not really. Mine is being ironed now," Debra replied.
Drake frowned, ncing at Kale. "Why didn''t you tell me she was going too?"
"I thought you didn''t care, Boss."
Drake seethed. "Don''t you know the g..."
"Mr. Houston agreed to her attending," Kale exined.
Seeing Ivan was also there, Drake came down and said to Debra, "Come with
me."
"Why?"
"To take a walk in the garden."
Liza, engrossed in her gown, looked up to find Debra gone. "Huh? Where is
everyone?"
She asked Lara, "Where did Debra go?"
"Mrs. Houston went out with Mr. Lowe," Lara replied.
"Where to?"
"The garden."
"The garden?"
Drake led Debra to a secluded spot in the garden.
"What''s the deal?" she asked.
Drake turned and poked her
forehead "You''re asking me? Can''t
you see there''s something off about
this banquet? You were so smart
when scheming against me. Why
are you being so dumb now?"
Debra stared at him. "Are you done?"
Drake felt better after venting his frustration. "Yes. Now, give me an exnation."
"I need to borrow some of your men," Debra said.
Drake''s anger red up again. "What
the hell? Do you think I''m a
phnthropist? You just take and
never give back."
"Calm down. I know there''s
something fishy about this banquet,
but I have to go for the bigger
picture."
"Cut the crap."
"So, are you lending me your men or not?"
