The call ended abruptly, leaving Ivan to stew in his thoughts.
He hadn''t intended to waste time on Debra, but since it was an order from his boss, he decided to y along.
By noon, Ivan had prepared avish lunch. The table wasden with exquisite dishes a far cry from the simple meals Gand had grown ustomed to at the Eaton Mansion.
He shook his head, marveling at the luxuries Drake enjoyed.
Gand watched Ivan meticulously arrange the tes. The kid seemed clueless that Debra was toying with him.
Debra descended the stairs, supporting Marion. In the meantime, Drake and Kale came down from the other side.
Ivan stole a nce at Marion and quickly looked away.
Debra, on the other hand, surveyed the table andmented, "Well done, Ivan."
"Thank you, Mrs. Houston. I''ll get back to work," Ivan replied, dutifully returning to the kitchen to clean up.
Gand clicked his tongue. "Using a kid as a servant. That''s a bit cruel."
He sympathized with Ivan, who seemed to be a well-behaved kid.
Debra shot him a look. "Just eat your food."
While picking up food for Marion, she kept a watchful eye on Ivan in the kitchen.
This meal was a test, but Ivan didn''t react much. It meant he was either incredibly clever or genuinely naive.

Drake scoffed, "Always so picky. If you don''t like it, I''ll call the chef back."
He had no appetite for this food,
prepared by a stranger. Watching et
Debra feed Marion, he rolled his eyes and tossed his fork aside. "I''m not hungry. You guys continue,
"At least take a bite. Don''t waste Ivan''s effort," Gand interjected.
Liza nudged him. "Enough."
Debra asked Marion, "Is it bad?"
"Anything you feed me is delicious," he replied, smiling.
"That won''t do. I don''t want to eat them at all," Debra insisted, turning to the kitchen. "The food you

Ivan emerged from the kitchen with his head down. "I''m working on it."
"Try harder," Debra said. "Your trial period is three days. If you can''t cut it, we''ll leave without you. Understood?"
