"The dirty money he''s got, I''ll make sure he coughs it up. And that surveince system? I''ll see to it that he hands it over to the government."
When it came to everything else, Nathalie was well aware that the bigger the invention, the more careful you had to be before it became mainstream. She needed to think things over thoroughly.
Officer Baldwin was already looking like he''d seen a ghost. "Do you think he''ll go for it?"
"Ashley, I''d advise you to take it slow."
"If he can''t get on board with your n and ends up getting suspicious, wouldn''t that backfire?"
Nathalie quietly assured, "He''ll agree."
In this life, he had always been her ray of sunshine. Now, it was her turn to pull him out of the shadows and into the light, to let him see the spring cherry blossoms and feel the warmth of the winter sun.
As Nathalie left the prison, she stumbled upon a sleek ck Ferrari at the gate, with a license te she recognized instantly: 888. Nathalie raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Sis, what''s Mr. Gavin doing here?" Lizzy whispered.
Nathalie replied, "Maybe he''s proud of his son''s achievements for once and decided to pay a visit to the son he usually ignores."
Nathalie approached the Ferrari, and the passenger window slowly rolled down. Gavin smiled and greeted her, "Ashley. What a coincidence. What brings you to a ce like this?"
His tone so much like Benjamin''s-was dripping with condescension, especially when talking about prisons.
Nathalie nced at the towering walls. "I''m here to visit an old friend."
Gavin smirked, "Oh, I forgot, Ashley. Youe from a modest background. It''s not surprising you''d have some unsavory connections."
A personal jab? At his own son, no less?
With a father like that, no wonder Nathan preferred prison over freedom.
Nathalie chuckled softly. "Mr. Gavin, this ce isn''t just for themon folks. It houses the high and mighty too. Especially those who, like you, might get blinded by power and end up neglecting family, only to find themselves behind bars."
Mr. Gavin''s face darkened, clearly hit by her words. Was she really challenging him?
Bold move.
"Ashley, if you can''t talk sense, maybe hold your tongue."
Feigning regret, Nathalie said, "I''m sorry, I''m not great with words. If I''ve stepped on your toes, I hope M Gayin can find it in his heart to forgive me."
Gavin tried to dig deeper, "So, did you manage to see your friend?"
Nathalie paused. If Nathan didn''t want to see her, he sure wouldn''t entertain
anyone from the Rond family.
Was Gavin trying to figure out his ce in Nathan''s heart?
Absurd.
Nathalie replied smoothly, "I didn''t
see
e him, but he epted my giftet ohister, I won''t worry about
being cold or alone."
him
While the Rond family felt embarrassed about Nathan, Nathalie was nothing
but proud.
"And how long''s your friend in for?"
Nathalie looked Gavin in the eye. "He''s got talent like no other. If he wants, he can walk out anytime."
Gavin''s expression shifted to one of visible unease.
He let out a coldugh, "Ashley, you think this prison''s some revolving door for him? Come and go as he wishes?"
Nathalie stated firmly, "I can''t speak for others. But him? Just wait and see."
With that, Nathalie turned and left, her face clouded with determination.
