    Then, he scanned his surroundings and yelled, “Who’s there? Show yourself!”


    His voice came in a terrifying sound wave that shredded through the air, reverberating throughout the


    quiet city.

    At that moment, a shadow shed before Walganus’ eyes. However, before he could discern the


    shadow’s appearance, it vanished without a trace. He chased after the shadow but found no trace of it.


    Though James did not see anything, he followed Walganus upon seeing him chasing after something.


    Walganus stopped upon arriving at a dead end.


    James walked over to him and asked, ‘What’s wrong? Did you find something?”


    Furrowing his eyebrows, Walganus said, “I spotted a shadow, but it disappeared without a trace.”


    “Is that so?” James was puzzled.


    How did he not notice the shadow?


    “My eyes would never deceive me. I can say with absolute certainty that we aren’t alone in this city.”


    Walganus scanned his surroundings in an attempt to locate the living being hidden in the shadows.
