Kain then entered theboratory. Looking around he was once again struck by the urge to purchase the Wheel of Fortune ticket specifically forboratory equipment after seeing all of the empty space. The potential for new and advanced equipment was extremely tempting, but he knew that he needed to be strategic with his GP while he was in such a precarious battle situation.
Kain opened the Simtor and went to the evolutionary materials. In addition to the spiritual orbs he''d obtained today, there were also several of the materials he''d obtained today such as the cochlear nerve and red crystal from the bat, the light-emitting nds and wings from the Flickerfly, and the unknown colourless crystal from the Whisper Wisp.
Unfortunately, the Simtor did not provide a detailed description of all of the materials. However, it did provide a name for the two materials that Kain was unsure about, therefore with the correct names he could research them at the college after the beast tide. The Sanguine Purity Crystal was the name for the red gem that he obtained from the blood-attribute bat of an unknown identity.
As for the colourless crystal, its name is the Haunting Echo Jewel.
With at least a name to go off of while researching, it''ll make his search a lot easier.
"But since I''m already here…" Kain continued to look at the panel for the Simtor. Each simtion is only 100 GP, if he performs a few of simtions now (just three!) he could easily make back the GP spent tomorrow afterpleting a mission to hunt 10 orange grade spiritual creatures. In fact, he was only 2 kills short ofpleting that mission and receiving 350 GP.
"Plus there was n that Kain had wanted to put into action for a while—patenting an evolutionary form. If he could sessfully produce a new evolutionary form, the money and connections provided will definitely help him with opening doors that would eventually lead to an increase in strength…yup! It''s decided I will perform 3 simtions."
Kain finally convinced himself with a virtuous sounding reason, but really, he was just dying of curiosity and wanted to try out some more evolutionary forms.
Based on the name of the Sanguine Purity Crystal, Kain made the reasonable assumption that it would have an effect on purifying bloodlines.
He was debating on whether to test out this hypothesis or if he should first try out the effects of one of the other materials he''d obtained that he wasn''t sure about its function. Not to mention, neither of his contracts are spiritual creatures with a legendary bloodline that he''d benefit from purifying, nor will it be easy for Kain to obtain such a creature.
Any spiritual creatures with a high-quality bloodline from creatures such as dragons, phoenixes, or giants, will be much more expensive to purchase than those without. This is because with future evolutions and bloodline purifications, there is still hope to evolve into a pure form of their ancestral bloodline. Although it will take a considerable amount of resources to do so.
One of the side businesses Kain was considering was toe up with a new evolutionary form for a spiritual creature, and he actually had one in mind. The evolutionary form that he was interested in was for the Lumifin.
The Lumifin was actually the very first creature that he''d tested the Simtor on, although at the time he had no theoretical knowledge on evolutionary forms and ended up creating a failure of an evolution—the Gloomtail.
The reason Kain was interested in the Lumifin for this endeavor is that it had light and water dual attributes. The water-attribute is one of the moremon elemental attributes, and among C, D, and F ranked affinities many of them are for fish. Therefore, the base poption for awakened individuals will be quiterge.
Additionally, although the ck-iron quality Lumifin is not particrly powerful, it has an additional rare light attribute. If Kain can find an evolutionary form with decent skills and it retains the light attribute, it''d probably be a pretty popr choice for a first contract among newly awakened individuals with low ranked affinities.
Additionally, currently the Lumifin has no known evolutionary form and it is quitemon in all fresh waterkes and rivers across the Empire. Therefore, buying one would be much cheaper than other initial contracts.
Rather than going the high-quality route and targeting evolutionary forms for expensive spiritual creatures that typically only the wealthy can bind, Kain decided to appeal to the masses. He was targeting those with affinities at C grade and under, who maybe don''te from the best-off families.
Such individuals are quitemon in the Empire, and many parents who are low-level beast-tamers or even ordinary people, may bankrupt themselves trying to give their child that managed to awaken an affinity a decent start. But what if Kain presented an option for an initial contract that was not only cheap, but also had a dual attribute for the more rare light element.
The Lumifin may be one of the mostmon initial contracts within the nation. And as the patent holder he''ll get paid with every purchase of the evolutionary form, having arger quantity of such purchases would be beneficial for him.
However, in order to realize this n an evolution for Lumifin with decent strength must be discovered. Additionally, since Kain''s target demographic were poorer new beast-tamers, the evolutionary materials used should not be too expensive. Otherwise, who''d want to contract a Lumifin whose evolutionary materials were more expensive than a gold-quality spiritual creature.
They could just directly buy a gold-quality spiritual creature!
Therefore, after selecting the Lumifin, a spiritual orb, and a catalyst within the Simtor, he sorted the options for the Evolutionary Base Material but the level. With the materials he''d extracted from red-grade spiritual creatures towards the top. He then filtered out the all of the materials with attributes other than water and light.
It is possible to cause find an evolution that has attributes different from the original form. However, the requirements for the bnce of the materials used was a lot more exacting. Kain isn''t confident in being able to find such an evolution without dozens of test simtions for trial and error.
Probably only the top evolutionary nners could discover such a form without relying purely on dumb luck.
After looking at his options, Kain made his first selection.
