The call came from Zora, the caregiver looking after Thaddeus.
Zora mentioned that Thaddeus had moved his fingers twice in quick session that day. Lizetta was
over the moon, rushing to the hospital while calling Remington on her way. Arriving at the hospital,
Lizetta was surprised to find Remington already there. Dressed in his usual bespoke suit, he was
discussing with the doctor outside Thaddeus'' room. Hearing footsteps, he turned, and seeing Lizetta
approaching at a jog, his brow furrowed slightly as he strode toward her, saying in a deep voice, "Take
it easy!" Lizetta found herself pulled into his embrace, catching her breath.
How could she not be in a rush? Thaddeus had been in aa for nearly two years. If he didn''t wake
up soon, the chances would only get slimmer.
This was the first sign of awakening they had seen in all this time. She tugged at Remington''s shirt, "Is
it really a sign of waking up?"

Remington nodded, "It''s not quite a sign of awakening yet, but he has indeed been more responsive to
external stimuli these past few days."
Remington led Lizetta to the doctor to have the diagnosis exined again. The doctor also showed
Lizetta the data recorded over the past few days, indicating a positive trend in all metrics.
This medical team had been recently brought in by Remington for Thaddeus at a considerable
expense, suggesting that Thaddeus was responding well to the new team''s treatment. There was a
possibility of him waking up if treatment continued.
After the doctor left, Lizetta turned and buried herself in Remington''s embrace, holding him tight,
unable to speak for a long while.
At that moment, she felt grateful and happy, truly believing everything was moving in the right direction.
Remington, sensing her emotions, gently pulled her away to look at her face, only to find her eyes
reddened, tears welling up.
With a sigh, he wiped away her tears, and Lizetta, a bit embarrassed, snuggled back into his embrace,
saying, "Do you think my brother might suddenly wake up to attend my wedding?" Thaddeus was the
only family Lizetta had left, and the thought filled her with no regrets.
Remington stroked her hair, chuckling, "Whether your brother can wake up to attend the wedding, I
don''t know. But if you keep rubbing your tears and snot on me, I definitely won''t be able to make it to
the meetingter."
Lizetta stiffened, her face turning red as she stepped back from his embrace, yfully hitting his chest,
"Thank you."
"You have a unique way of expressing gratitude."
Lizetta looked up and met his teasing gaze; on tiptoe, she was about to give him a thankful kiss when
suddenly, hurried footsteps approached.
"Mr. Dashiell, there''s trouble with Barbara; you better go check it out."
Remington''s expression shifted slightly, and without saying a word, he quickly headed toward the
elevator.
It seemed he had forgotten or perhaps intended to take Lizetta with him, as he didn''t let go of her hand.
Silently holding his hand, she followed him to Barbara''s room. Inside, doctors were attempting a
rescue.
Martin looked desperately anxious, standing next to two people Lizetta didn''t recognize, who looked
like a mother and son, the mother bearing a resemnce to Barbara.
Eileen stood behind the crowd, her face pale and panicked. And, unexpectedly, Lizetta also spotted
Evelina.
Lizetta felt a sense of dread at the sight of Evelina, her heart skipping a beat, suspecting Evelina was
up to no good again.
"What happened to her?" Remington nced into the room, frowning.
Martin red at the middle-aged woman next to him, angrily saying, "If Barbara gets hurt because of
you, I''ll never let it go! And don''t think just because Ste hasn''t been found and Quentin is gone, your
son will inherit the West family fortune, impossible!"
"Martin, how can you say that? How could I think like that? You brought a fake Ste to deceive my
sister, and when I found out, I can''t let her be fooled. I just wanted to inform my sister."
