    But upon a moment''s reflection, Liz understood his strategy. This nanny''s sole purpose was to protect and care for Ron, not to gather intel.


    By sending her in openly and officially, her presence would be undeniable.


    Knowing the nanny reported directly to Remington, Martin and Ste would be forced to treat Ron exceptionally well. This overt protection was unequivocally the safest option for the boy.


    "Remington, if you''re willing to go to such lengths, that''s wonderful. We have an agreement, then. Take all the time you need to find the perfect person. I haveplete peace of mind knowing Ron is with you."


    Martin agreed with remarkable ease.


    Hanging up, Remington looked at Liz, who was still holding Ron.


    "Ron will be staying at Oakridge Heights for a few more days. Will you stay and help take care of him?"


    A look of deep hesitation crossed Liz''s face.


    If he had asked her this yesterday, it would have been an instant, categorical ''no''.


    But after spendingst night caring for him, waking up to his soft, squishy little face this morning, and everything else.....


    Liz felt she could no longer view him as just another child. An invisible bond had formed; she felt a distinct, undeniable sense of responsibility toward him.


    However, if she just casually moved back into Oakridge Heights now, what would that say?


    It was far too soon. If Grandpa found out, he''d probably chase her down with his cane in absolute fury.


    And then there was Yoli.


    Seeing her waver, Remington stepped forward to take Ron from her arms.


    "It''s alright. I understand your reservations. The nanny should be arriving shortly. He''ll be in good hands, so you can leave with peace of mind. Whenever you miss him—or me—just call, and I''lle pick you up."


    He sounded exactly like a devoted, stay-at-home dad bravely holding down the fort.


    It was incredibly virtuous of him, but Liz couldn''t shake the feeling that he wasying the guilt trip on a little too thick.


    The moment Remington took him, Ron''s lip quivered dramatically. He clung desperately to Liz''s neck, refusing to let go.


    "Ah! Ahhh, ahh!"


    The little guy babbled urgently at her, practically begging her not to abandon him.


    Liz''s resolve crumbled further. "We don''t even know if Ron will take to the new nanny. What if they don''t get along...?"


    Recognizing her weakening stance, Remington offered smoothly,


    "Last night only stayed in the master bedroom because Ste was here if you agree to stay, I''ll move into the guest room.


    Liz was already on the fence; this offer of personal space tipped the scales entirely.


    With Ron wiggling his little butt in her arms and making the most pitiful, pleading noises, Liz finally caved and nodded.


    Remington lowered his eyes, entirely masking the triumphant smirk in his gaze.


    Suddenly, looking at Ron, he decided the little tyke was actually quite handsome and undeniably adorable.

    She was brilliant with infants. Within minutes, she had Ron giggling happily. Clearly, Ron didn''t reject her outright.


    Even so, whenever Mrs. Wu tried to actually pick him up, Ron vehemently refused.


    It took an hour or two of Liz ying alongside them before Ron finally allowed Mrs. Wu to hold him.


    "Young Master Ron is incredibly bright. He already has his own sense of judgment at such a young age,"
