Chapter 928

"I''m really sorry, but you''ve got to stay strong."

Cassius was still trying to process what was happening when Ynda gave him two very sincere, deep bows.

"Ynda! I''m not dead yet, and here you are, mourning me already?"

Cassius felt the veins in his forehead throb with frustration.

He jumped out of bed, barefoot, and yanked the woman attempting a third bow into his arms, ring at her with fiery disbelief.

"How can you be so heartless? I''m already in this mess because of you. Instead of feeling guilty and trying to make amends by being at my beck and call, you''re thinking of shirking responsibility and finding some other guy to have fun with?!" Cassius''s eyes were wide with incredulity and anger as he stared at Ynda.

Her arms were starting to ache from his grip, but she suppressed her irritation, frowning as she replied.

"Hollywood star Cassius, there''s no need to get so worked up. That''s not how things work, logically speaking."

"Oh really, and how is it then?" Cassius was practically ready to bite this nonchnt woman in front of him.

He searched her face for any hint of concern or regret anything that showed she cared about him. But there was nothing.

Damn, this woman really didn''t give a damn.<fn491c> N?w ?ovel chapt?rs are published on FindN()vel</fn491c>

He was determined to hear whatever "logic" she had to offer.

"We''re done. We''re no longer anything to each other. I was supposed to be on a proper date today. By now, I could have been strolling by the river, hand in hand with the charming Dr. Shawn. Instead, it''s Hollywood star Cassius who cornered me, embarrassed me, got me drunk, and dragged me here."

"It''s also you who, when I was drunk and barely conscious, tried to take advantage. When that didn''t work, you tried to smother me was défending myself, and it''s not my fault you''re so fragile."  s

    "I..."

Cassius was so angry he was seeing spots. Was she drinking fake whiskey or something?

She didn''t remember a thing and was even turning the tables on him!

If he could go back a few hours, he''d make sure she didn''t touch a drop of alcohol. He should have just knocked her out and tied her up from the start.

"When did ever try to take

advantage of you? You threw up all over me and I was kind enough. clear you up and change your clothes. Instead of being grateful, you kicked me as soon as you woke

    up!  s

I''ve got a heart condition now, thanks to you, and I haven''t even begun to hold you ountable. You jumped into the pool yourself, and it was me who fished you out, or you''d have drowned!

And earlier, you rolled off the bed yourself. I dove to protect your head, and what do I get? Another kick, aimed right at my weakest spot."

Ynda raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "You jumped into the pool to save me? You protected me from falling off the bed?"

Cassius chuckled wryly, thinking she might finally appreciate what he''d done.

But the next moment, Yndaughed dismissively.

"You''re telling me you suddenly grew a conscience? If you were really that considerate, you wouldn''t have gotten me drunk in the first ce."

There was no reasoning with this woman. Cassius paced the room furiously, hands on his hips.

Ynda raised her eyebrows and continued, "Qut ofmon decency, I''ve already apologized and promised to cover all your medical bills. But if you think I''m going to ruin my life by staying with you over your own foolish mistakes, think again."  s
