Chapter 2572

Javier''s eyes widened in shock. Though the spacious study was well-heated, a chilling cold spread through his entire body.

"Justin... w-what do you mean by that? Did you actually take someone''s life? Did you really kill that young woman?"

    "Shh-"

Justin lifted a finger to his lips, a cruel glint shing in his dark eyes. "She was just an insignificant helper. Nothing worth making a fuss over, is it?"

Eden, standing behind him, remained silent. Meanwhile, Rory''s face had turned deathly pale. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, soaking through his sleeves and cor. Just how twisted did a person have to be to speak of murder with such indifference?

"An insignificant helper? That was a human life!"

Javier red at the man before him, his eyes bloodshot. A massive wave of terror crashed over him. "Why did you kill her? Why?"

"Because it was fun." Justin tilted his head and gave a careless shrug. "Of course, I was a little nervous the first time I stabbed her. But by the second strike, all I felt was excitement. The sound of the de tearing through flesh... It was like music to my ears. I couldn''t stop."

Javier staggered back a few steps. The sheer terror drained the warmth from his blood, leaving him trembling in fear and disbelief that this monster was the son he had raised.

"You bastard... You''re a monster! How did I end up with a son like you?"

"That''s a good question. How did I end up like this?"

Justin shifted his weight and leanedzily against the armrest of the couch. Resting his cheek on his fist, he narrowed his eyes into a gleeful smile as he watched Javier teeter on the verge of copse.

"Maybe you should ask yourself that. If you hadn''t been so heartless... if you hadn''t betrayed my mother, she wouldn''t have died that horrible death by the pond in the back garden. If she were still alive, I wouldn''t have be this a walking corpse. "In the end, everything traces back to you. You''re the one who made me what I am." "Bullshit! That''splete bullshit! Shut the hell up!"

Javier felt as though he had lost his mind. There was no way he could ept that the son he had once trusted so deeply had be something so horrifying.

Before this, all he intended to do was suspend Justin from his position and strip him of power. But now, there was only one thought left in his mind.

He had to get rid of Justin.

He wanted to destroy him the way an artist destroyed their perfect creation upon discovering that it was nothing but a demonic conduit to hell.

Even though he couldn''t actually take Justin''s life, he wanted to cast him out of Beckett Group and reinstate Jasper as president.

    Jasper would remam as he

    to the

Company, and this time, he would support Jasper wholeheartedly and ensure he remained firmly in control.

Truth be told, he had always favored Jasper. If not for everything that bad happened, he would never have removed him and elevated Justin in his ce, plunging the entire corporation into chaos.

He regretted it deeply. Every single part of him regretted it.

He hated himself for his wavering judgment, for failing to trust Jasper, and for being blind enough to believe the words of a devil.

"Everything that''s happened over the past two days has drained me. I''m turning in for the night—unless you have anything else to say."

Justin yawnedzily. Just as he was about to stand, Javier-his eyes bloodshot-spoke in a cold, manding tone, I want you to to the police station and turn yourself in first thing tomorrow morning."

    "Say what, Dad?"

Justinughed, as though he had just heard the most absurd joke in the world.
