In the interrogation room, Cyrus conducted the questioning himself. He tossed several crime scene photos onto the table in front of Justin.
"Take a look. Aside from your Uncle Zachary, do you recognize the other man?" Justin lowered his gaze, his voice calm and steady. "No."
A faint smile tugged at Cyrus''s lips. "No? This was the man who kidnapped you 20 years ago. He locked you up in a cage and tortured you for days.
"I''m sure that left quite an impression. You must have wished to kill him every time you thought about it. How could you possibly forget his face?"
A cold glint shed in Justin''s dark eyes, but his tone remained even. "Oh, that''s him? But like you said, that was 20 years ago. It''s only natural I wouldn''t remember something from that long ago, don''t you think?"
Cyrus narrowed his eyes slightly. "And yet Jasper recognized him at a nce. That man was Gustav Holm, the thug who kidnapped both of you back then. Your brother is five years younger than you, which means he was just a child at the time, yet he remembers him clearly.
"You, on the other hand, were already 16—old enough to remember. You even ended up crippled because of him. And you''re saying you don''t remember?"
Justin smiled nonchntly. "That just means Jasper has a better memory than I do. He''s always been the smarter one anyway."
Justin was truly a cunning, deranged man.
Cyrus exhaled sharply, barely containing his anger. He knew he wouldn''t get anything useful out of Justin. Even if he held him for the full 24 hours, he would still have to release him due to theck of evidence.
His task was simple-keep Justin pinned at the station while Alyssa pulled the trigger. Together, they would make Beckett Group the talk of the town, then let the public''s curiosity do the rest. They would simply watch as the story began to rot in the hands of the inte and the citizens over time.
It didn''t take long for Beckett Group''s attorney to arrive at the police station. Still, thanks to a few deliberate dys on Cyrus'' part, it was alreadyte into the night by the time Justin was released on bail.
As Justin rode back to Seaview Manor in his luxury car, neon lights flickered across his face in alternating streaks of brightness and shadows, making his pale, striking features appear almost ghostly.
"Mr. Justin, public sentiment is
extremely unfavorable right now et
Eden said anxiously. "Rumors are

spreading murdered your uncle..."
Justin scoffed. "Rumors? Isn''t that the truth, though?"
Eden paused, then lowered his voice. "Even so, we can''t just let people spread usations like that. It''ll affect Beckett Group, but more importantly, it could damage your reputation and your position within thepany."
The assessment was spot on. Justin opened his eyesnguidly. "Any news on what Jasper is up to?"
"I''ve had people monitoring Seaview Manor, but he hasn''t returned at all."
"How about the Taylors?"
"Mr. Winston has been discharged from the hospital and is back home. But no one has seen Jasper visit Ms. Alyssa at the hospital while Mr. Winston was admitted
Justin closed his eyes again. "Has Sheryl''s body been taken care of?"
Eden took a deep breath. "Yes, it''s been handled."
"Good."
Just then, Justin''s phone vibrated. It was an iing call from Javier.
He nced at the screen coldly before answering in aposed tone. "Hi, Dad."
"Have you been released from the police station, Justin?"
"Yeah, I have."
Javier''s voice came through, tight with anger. "Return to Seaview Manor at once. We need to talk."
