Chapter 2565

Miley had to return to Kontina the very next day with Jeremy, due to his packed schedule and responsibilities as the country''s president. Late that night before their departure, Alyssa and Jasper apanied them to the hospital to visit Mandy.

Alyssa knocked on the ward door. It opened soon after, revealing Remy''s handsome yet haggard face. His cheeks had hollowed from the weight he''d lost, making him almost unrecognizable.

"How are you, Damien? Are you holding up?" Alyssa asked softly, her heart aching at the sight of him.

"I''m fine." Remy''s gaze shifted slightly, hisshes casting faint shadows beneath his tired eyes. "How''s Dad?"

"He''s doing okay. You don''t have to worry." Alyssa forced a bright smile, hiding the sorrow in her heart. "Damien, Miley and Jeremy are here to see you. Miley is the sixth eldest, and Jeremy is her husband."

"The sixth eldest..." Remy murmured, a faint glimmer appearing in his eyes.

Alyssa stifled augh. "She''s the sixth eldest to me, but she''s your younger sister, Damien."

Remy stepped out of the ward, his steps heavy. The moment he saw Miley''s tear- filled eyes and heard her call his name in a trembling voice, tears streamed down his face before he even realized it.

    "Damien...

Miley opened her arms wide and pulled him into a tight embrace. Her tears soaked into his shoulder, the warmth seeping through and reaching his heart. "I missed you so much... Wee home..."

"Wee home, Damien. We''ve all been waiting for you."

Jeremy''s eyes brimmed with tears too. Despite being the president of a nation, he couldn''t hold back his emotions in that moment.

"Thank you for remembering me," Remy said hoarsely, blinking rapidly to keep his tears from falling.

Watching them, Alyssa''s eyes welled up again. She turned and instinctively buried herself in Jasper''s arms, using his tie to wipe away her tears out of habit.

Jasper stood still, back straight, head slightly lowered as he let her cling to him like a human handkerchief. Not only did he not mind, but it also stirred something deep within him, a quiet satisfaction in being someone she could rely on.

He took a steady breath, then gently ced a hand at the back of her head, pulling her closer.

A faint blush spread across Alyssa''s cheeks. Hershes fluttered briefly before she wrapped her arms around his waist, hiding herself in his suit jacket. She held him tightly, saying nothing.

Bit by bit, he was rediscovering the feelings they once shared-reiming the moments that had slipped through his fingers.

Even if love could fade, nothing could stop them from falling in love all over again.

"This ne... Mom always wears it."

Miley noticed the ne around Remy''s neck-the one that belonged to Mandy. Her eyes filled with tears. "Did Mom give it to you, Damien?"

A sharp pang struck Remy''s heart. He shook his head. "When Mom got into that ident and lost consciousness, she was clutching this ne. Everything was so chaotic, so I just took it with me without thinking."

Miley gently traced the worn patterns on the pendant. "This isn''t an ordinary

ne. There''s a hidden mechanism inside."

Remy blinked in surprise. "A hidden mechanism?"

Miley carefully removed the ne, then turned the small circr disk on the

pendant twice counterclockwise, then twice clockwise.

A soft click followed. The pendant opened slightly, like a tiny folding mirror.

Shock shed across Remy''s eyes. He took the pendant from Miley and opened it

carefully. Inside was a small, yellowed photograph.

    In the picture was Mandy-beautiful

    and elegant in a mermaid

gown-holding a young Damien in her arms. She smiled brightly, her cheeks pressed against his her eyes filled with joy.

    "Mom..."

A violent tremor ran through Remy''s body. Suddenly, he let out a broken cry and

copsed to his knees, sobbing uncontrobly.

Alyssa, stilin Jasper''s arms, lifted her head and met his gaze. In that silent exchange, they both understood that at that moment, Remy''s shattered soul had tually realigned with Damien''s.

    Damien had trulye home.

    ...

Three dayster, Javier returned from his recuperation abroad. The first thing he did

was head straight to Beckett Group and call for an emergency board meeting.

As the current chairman, he still held full authority over thepany''s operations and future direction.

The board members had just taken their seats. Before Javier could even begin, the conference room doors were suddenly pushed open.

Under the startled gazes of everyone present, Rory hurried to Javier''s side, struggling to conceal the urgency on his face. He leaned in and whispered something into Javier''s ear.

    Javier''s expression darkened instantly.

Seated to his left, Justin frowned, his own expression turning grim. Though he couldn''t hear the words, he could sense that something serious had happened.

The next moment, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the conference room. The security team''s anxious voices rang out. "You can''t go in! The board is in session-you''re not allowed inside!"

"Fine, we''ll wait out here," a voice replied firmly. "But get Mr. Justin Beckett out here immediately. He needs toe with us."
