Chapter 2544

"How are you feeling today, Dad? Are you feeling better?" Alyssa asked with a bright smile that reached her eyes.

Her smile looked as carefree and innocent as it had been when she was young. With a spring in her step, she hurried over to Winston, then knelt beside him and sped his bony hands tightly in her trembling ones.

She knew she was no longer that carefree girl. After everything she had been through, the shadows in her eyes could not be erased, no matter how convincing her smile was.

Even so, she did her best to appear childlike, hoping to resemble the version of herself preserved in Winston''s earliest memories. She suspected his amnesia worked like Alzheimer''s, where memories faded in reverse order.

He might have forgotten who she was now, but perhaps the memory of her as a child still remained. If that was the case, maybe bing that little girl again would help him remember her sooner.

At that thought, tears welled in her eyes, and she had to force them back, afraid she would break down.

"I''m fine. I''m doing quite well." Winston looked straight at her haggard yet beautiful face, and his heart skipped a beat. "I''m sorry, my dear... I really can''t remember anymore. You call me ''Dad'', and I''ve heard you''re my favorite daughter. I want to remember too, but..."

The pale-looking Alyssa leaned forward, resting her cheek gently on his knees. "It''s okay, Dad. Take your time. Even if it takes a year or ten years, it doesn''t matter. I''ll always stay by your side. I''ll always be your good, obedient daughter."

Smiling through his tears, Neil mused that while Alyssa had always been a good daughter, she hadn''t been an obedient one since the day she was born.

Yet after everything that had happened, she seemed to have grown into someone entirely different.

Despite his memory loss, Winston could still feel emotions stirring within him, growing stronger with each passing moment. "Give me a little more time, my dear. Let me try harder. I''m sure I''ll remember eventually."

Just then, his gaze shifted to Remy, who had been standing quietly behind Alyssa the entire time. As Winston studied that familiar yet unfamiliar face, his brows furrowed in confusion. Gradually, his nk expression gave way to surprise, and his clouded eyes lit up.

    "Why, you... y-you are..."

    "Dad, it''s Damien-my fifth brother. He''s back!"

Tears filled Alyssa''s eyes. "Damien isn''t dead. He was the only survivor of that ne crash. God must have heard your prayers and Mandy He let Damiene back to us."

Remy stared at the man with graying hair before him, his body trembling faintly. The icy chill around him seemed to melt away reced by a warmth rising from deep within. Fragments of memory shed through his mind-broken yet vivid.

"Your fifth bro—" Winston looked into Remy''s tear-filled eyes, then turned to Neil in shock. "What? I had that many children?"

Caught off guard, Neil replied, "There''s also Mr. Cyrus, your seventh child, and Ms. Tatiana, your youngest daughter... You have nine children, Mr. Winston."

Stunned, Winston stammered, "W-Was I really that energetic when I was young?"

Neil didn''t know how to respond.

    "Dad..."

Remy stepped forward slowly. Then, all at once, he dropped to his knees, tears streaming down his chiseled face.

"Son, they told me you nearly lost your life in that ne crash."

Emotion surged within Winston as well, his eyes turning red. "How are you now? Are you still recovering from your injuries? You faced death and survived such a terrible ident can only imagine the hell you''ve been through."

"Nah... I''m fine, Dad. It''s all behind me now."
