At lightning speed and with the agility of a leopard, Axel lunged out of the darkness. He spun around, raising his tensed arm high, and aimed the gun in his hand precisely at Uri, who stood on the high tform.
With his teeth clenched tight, he fired three consecutive shots.
Unfortunately, his position below was too far from Uri, and his visibility was limited. On top of that, the cunning Uri stood in the shadows, causing all three of Axel''s shots to miss himpletely.
"Shit. Damn it!" Axel cursed, his eyes bloodshot with fury.
Shock filled Uri''s eyes as he stood on the high tform. Beneath the shadows, his face had turned as white as a sheet.
He had been so focused on fighting Jonah and so immersed in the thrill of torturing him that he hadn''t checked the surveince footage in time, allowing others to sneak in without him even realizing it.
Uri knew he was no match for these elites from the Taylor family. They were exceptionally skilled fighters. If he hadn''t resorted to this despicable method of abducting someone and taking them hostage, he would have stood no chance against them.
Thus, he turned around and prepared to flee.
Suddenly, he halted in his tracks. A bead of cold sweat trickled down his forehead as he backed away step by step.
A man with a deathly pale yet handsome face and striking eyes emerged from the abyssal darkness. Though he appearedpletely emotionless, the oppressive air surrounding him made Uri shudder.
"J-Jasper?"
Uri''s eyes shifted in panic. His blood ran cold as if he had just seen the Grim Reaper. He hadn''t even felt such fear when he saw Jonah.
"Since you recognize who I am, you should know that I''m not a very well-tempered person."
Jasper stared at him coldly, his voice deep and husky as he warned, "Release Dr. Lovce this instant. Do it now, and I won''t make things too difficult for you. Otherwise, you won''t be able to bear the consequences."
Uriughed. "You want me to release him? Would you even allow me to walk out of this ce alive if I did?" he asked in a sinister tone.
Jasper fell silent for a few seconds before replying, "You and I are different have never considered taking your life, and your life means nothing to me. Let Dr. Lovce go, thene with me to the police station and turn yourself in."
Uri burst outughing as if he had just heard a ridiculous joke. "Turn myself in?" he eximed.
With a firm look in his eyes, Jasper said, "I know the real reason you abducted Dr. Lovce. It wasn''t to exact revenge. You did it because you received orders from Justin, the man also known as ''Sir.''
"He ordered you to eliminate Dr. Lovce to prevent him from developing an antidote for the poison in my body. Dr. Lovce''s life is simply the blood price you''re paying to prove your loyalty to Justin."
Uri''s jaw dropped. He had believed he had done an excellent job of keeping everything secret by pretending to be a righteous elder brother seeking justice for his younger brother.
Contrary to his expectations, Jasper had seen through his motives, schemes, and even the mastermind manipting him.
"Release Dr. Lovce, thene with me and turn yourself in. Testify against Justin''s crimes. This is your only chance to stay alive and your only way out."
Jasper looked at him with a zing gaze, each word striking true. "If you choose to remain Justin''s follower, the only thing that awaits you is death. And I guarantee it will be a horrible one."
Uri sneered. "I''ve alreadye this far. Do you think I''ll survive if I turn myself in? Do you think I''m out of my mind?"
He had seen how powerful Justin was. Laughing sarcastically, he said, "Jasper, don''t pretend to be
righteous in front of me. You''re trying to lure me into betraying Justin because you want the power and authority of the Beckett Group. Am I right?
"Once Mr. Justin falls, you''ll be able to return as the president and rightful sessor of Beckett Group without anyonepeting against you. You might deceive others, but I can see through your pathetic tricks!"
A cold gleam shed across Jasper''s dim eyes. He knew there was no point wasting any more words on Uri.
"Julien ruined Mr. Justin''s ns, so he has to die. I''m going to take your life too!"
Before he even finished speaking, Uri
pulled out his gun and aimed it straight at Jasper''s head. "I''m going to take your life first, then Julien''s. I''ll make sure Jonah lives in pain for the rest of "!!ter that will be my
offering to my younger brother in
heaven!"
Just as he pulled the trigger, a powerful force suddenly struck from behind, forcing
his arm upward.
Two loud gunshots rang out in the darkness.
