Chapter 2509

Remy froze, though his expression remained as cold and impassive as ever.

"Go get yourself treated if you''re delusional. Or ask Mr. Justin for something to clear your head."

Sheryl stared at his unnervingly calm face, grinding her teeth in frustration. She was at a loss for words.

Despite Remy''s recent emotional instability, Sheryl had absolute faith in Justin''s drug. It was designed to override the brain''s emotional processing center. In her mind, there was no way Remy could ever recover his memories.

Mandy might havee dangerously close to their base, but Sheryl was convinced she had discovered something on her own, not because Remy had leaked any information.

For all her intelligence, however, Sheryl could not have been more wrong. Remy was the one who had called the police. Not only that, he had made the call from inside the base.

He knew that Cyrus, the seventh sibling of the Taylor family, was the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit. Besides, his mother''s car plunging off a cliff was no ordinary ident. Of course Cyrus wouldunch a full investigation.

Once he did, he would uncover the emergency call. From there, tracing its origin would lead him straight to the base.

Remy could not afford to wait any longer. If this dragged on, Amber would notst much longer.

Sheryl''s lips curled into a vicious smirk. Whenever the Taylors were mentioned, envy and hatred twisted her features.

"That bitch is lucky. Mr. Justin originally nned to dump her body in the incinerator behind the base and burn her to ashes. But it seems she''ll get to leave this world in one piece after all."

    "Oh? Is that so?"

Remy clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. It felt as though his own heart had been tossed into that incinerator and set aze.

"What a pity," he said coolly.

"Enough of this nonsense. Mr. Justin wants to see me."

As she spoke, Sheryl beckoned a subordinate into the room.

"After this, administer the newly developed drug to the woman in the room at the end of the hallway. Monitor her physical changes over the next 24 hours and submit a detailed report."

"Yes, Ms. Gillis," the subordinate replied immediately.

Remy''s pupils contracted as rm bells rang in his mind. Amber was the woman in the room at the end of the hallway!

Sheryl intended to use her as a test subject again. The new drug had to be potent. Otherwise, she would not have ordered such close monitoring.

No. He could not let this happen. Amber was already at her limit. Increase her dosage any further, and her organs could fail. She could die at any moment.

Remy lowered his gaze, hiding the sharp glint in his eyes. He could no longer drift along, and y the role of a heartless machine He had to find a way to save Amber-even if it meant risking exposure and being eliminated by Justin.

Jonah stayed by Alyssa''s side in the hospital ward, gripping her icy hand as his heart twisted in agony.

    "Jonah, I have bad news!"

The ward door flew open. Ss rushed in, followed closely by L and Colene.

    Jonah''s chest tightened. "What happened?"

Through her tears, Colene answered, "It''s Mandy. She was in a serious car ident. She''s in the emergency room right now. Liam, Axel, and Cyrus are already there."

Jonah couldn''t believe his ears. Barely able to breathe, he asked, "What happened? Where did it ur?"

"O-On the way up Domere Mountain..." Colene choked out.

Jonah''s heart clenched. The more he listened, the more confused he became. Why would Mandy go there without reason?

L was sobbing as well. "Earlier,

Cyrus said. Mandy isn''t doing well... What are Cyrus and Miley supposed to do if something happens to her? Winston lost his memories, copsed, and now this... At this rate, the Taylor family is going to fall apart!"

"Our family will not fall apart."

Jonah forced down the storm of emotions inside him. His voice was steady, each

word carrying weight. "As long as I''m here, our family will not fall apart."

As the eldest son of the Taylor

family-and the sessor Winston had once chosen-Jonah exuded authority and calm. In moments of crisis he was their anchor, the bedrock that kept them steady.

Yet even a man as rational andposed as Jonah could not make sense of the mounting anomalies. Mandy''s ident felt far too deliberate to be mere recklessness.

Just then, his phone rang with a call from Cyrus.

"How''s it going over there?" Jonah asked at once. He immediately followed with

words offort. "Stay calm. We''re all here. Mandy will pull through."

"Jonah, I''ve received new findings from the investigation." Cyrus'' voice was hoarse, thick with pain. "We''ve located Julien''sst known whereabouts."
