Chapter 2505

    "Remy. Remy?"

Remy''s subordinate called his name several times before he was finally dragged back to reality.

The darkness lingered in his eyes, betraying the turmoil raging within him.

"Mr. Winston Taylor''s second wife is the current chairperson of Lovce Group. In other words, someone from the Taylor family has tracked us here."

Everyone stationed at the base worked themselves to the bone out of loyalty to Justin despite never having seen him in person. The subordinate turned to Remy with a grave expression.

"Mr. Axel''s woman is still being held here as a test subject. Now that the Taylors have suddenly found this ce, do you think they''re actually here for her?"

Another subordinate, his face grim, spoke up, "Remy, we should eliminate them immediately. We can''t afford any hesitation. They''ve already traced us this far.

"If they manage to leave and share even a rough location with the Taylors, it''ll only be a matter of time before the base is exposed."

Remy stared fixedly at the screen, his fingers curling slowly into a fist. Veins bulged beneath his skin as he said, "We''re not overseas. If we start killing people recklessly in Sna City—especially someone tied to the Taylor family—they''ll hunt us down relentlessly.

"Don''t act rashly. For now, we find a way to drive them out."

The two subordinates exchanged nces. As far as they could remember, this was the most Remy had ever spoken at once.

Just then, another subordinate rushed in, his tone rigid. "Per Ms. Gillis'' instructions, there are to be no survivors. Anyone who breaches base territory is to be executed on sight."

Remy''s brown pupils constricted. For the first time, hisposure shattered. "Everyone, stand down!" he roared.

"I''m sorry, Remy," the subordinate replied stiffly. "Ms. Gillis says this is Mr. Justin''s order. We have no choice but toply. Now, move!"

Without hesitation, one of them began operating the console. Two drones lifted off at once, shooting straight toward the ck sedan.

For reasons Remy couldn''t exin, the blood in his veins turned ice-cold. His heart mmed violently against his chest, as though it might burst at any second. He pressed one hand to his chest while gripping the edge of the table with the other.

He had never felt this way before. It was as if something unimaginably important was about to be ripped away from him, violently and without mercy.

An overpowering thought gripped him. He wanted to stop it all from happening. But intervention meant exposure; Justin would be suspicious of him.

It wasn''t death he feared. It was the end of his cover. And once that happened, he''d never be able to save Amber.

Suddenly, a series of deafening bangs echoed through the room. Gunfire rang out from the screen as the drones opened fire on the ck sedan.

The tires exploded. The car skidded wildly along the mountain road, mming into the rock face on the

left before snapping back and crashing through the quardrail on the right.

Beyond the railing was a steep slope leading straight down to ake.

If the car rolled down, survival would be nearly impossible. It wouldn''t just crash-it would be obliterated.

Remy''s chapped lips parted, his eyes bloodshot. "No-"

    More shots rang out.

He watched helplessly as the car broke through the railing and tumbled down the slope, disappearing toward theke below.

    Then, the screen went silent.

A crushing pain seized Remy''s chest, so intense it felt as though his heart was being torn apart.

He had never known such panic or helplessness.

He was like a lost child, circling endlessly in the same ce, unable to find the way home no matter how hard he tried.

At that moment, the subordinate who had delivered Sheryl''s orders answered his phone. "Ms. Gillis, the suspicious vehicle has been dealt with, just as instructed."

After a brief pause, he turned to the others and ryed coldly, "Ms. Gillis says to send the drones down to confirm the kills. If anyone is still alive, fire again immediately None of them is to be spared."
