Chapter 2495

Instantly, the entire hall erupted into chaos as guests began murmuring among themselves.

Not only had this in-looking young man infiltrated the banquet by disguising himself as a waiter, but he had also attempted to assassinate both Justin and Alyssa -heirs to elite families-using a de.

The moment he injured even one of them, his life was effectively over. What on earth had driven him to gamble his future and his life so recklessly? And why had he used Justin of murder andbeled Alyssa an aplice?

There was simply too much shocking gossip being unleashed all at once. The guests could barely keep up.

At that moment, the hotel''s entire security team swarmed into the hall. They moved to take the assant away, but Jasper continued to pin the man to the ground, showing no intention of releasing him.

"Please hand him over to us. We''ll take it from here. We wouldn''t want you to get hurt," the head of security said politely as he approached Jasper.

However, Jasper remained unmoving, his icy gaze locked onto the man beneath him. The guards were left helpless. They clearly couldn''t force the assant out of Jasper''s grasp.

"Lyse, it''s too dangerous for you to be here... I''ll get you out right now," Justin said through clenched teeth as he helped Alyssa to her feet, enduring the sharp pain shooting through his back.

"I have a question for you." Alyssa took a deep breath to steady herself and fixed her gaze firmly on the attacker. "Why did you call Mr. Justin a murderer and me an aplice? Our records are spotless. We have nevermitted any illegal acts. In fact, Mr. Justin has spent years giving back to society through charity work.

"Not only did you injure Mr. Justin with a weapon, but you also incited public panic and ndered both of us. With all these crimesbined, aren''t you afraid of spending the rest of your life rotting in prison?"

Jasper lifted his eyes, meeting Alyssa''s gaze for a fleeting second before both of them looked away almost simultaneously.

His heart was racing. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn''t calm himself down.

Justin''s calcting gaze swept over the attacker''s hate-twisted face. In a gentle voice, he urged, "Lyse, leave him to the authorities. Let''s get out of here first. We can figure out what to doter."

"Since you''re injured, you may go ahead, Mr. Justin. I''m fine," Alyssa replied calmly. "I''ll stay and clear this matter up with him."

Her expression was solemn, as though she were determined to seek justice for herself. In a stern voice, she pressed the assant, "Talk. You owe me an exnation today.

"The Taylor family has always been upright and honest. We will not allow you to smear our name. Mr. Justin is being magnanimous by not pursuing this further, but I won''t let it go. Otherwise, what will people think of the Taylor family?"

The darkness in Justin''s eyes deepened. As he clenched his fist, a shard of broken ss embedded itself into his palm, blood seeping between his fingers. Even so, he didn''t flinch.

"That incident had nothing to do with you," the man snarled. "But the fact that you''re so close to Justin-partnering with him and standing by his side-means you''re no better than he is. You deserve to go to hell too!"

Though no media outlets were present, some guests had secretly recorded the scene. In this age of free media, where information easily spread, even the most powerful figures couldn''t suppress newspletely.

Alyssa scoffed coldly. "What incident? Exin yourself. If you can''t, then you''re nothing but a nderer—a liar stirring trouble with baseless usations."

She was deliberately provoking him, hoping to force the truth out. Unfortunately, at that very moment, the police arrived. Jasper could no longer restrain the man and had no choice but to hand him over.

As the officers dragged the assant out of the hall, he suddenly twisted around and roared at Justin, "Justin Beckett! Do you remember Millie? Mildred Hayes?"

The crowd exchanged stunned nces. Alyssa''s chest tightened as she looked at Justin, whose face had turned deathly pale. However, his eyes were dark and unfathomable, like a bottomless abyss. He remained silent.

"You killed Millie! She died because of you! You destroyed her entire family, you murderer! You''re a perverted madman, and you''ll rot in hell!"

His voice gradually faded as he was dragged away. Meanwhile, the murmurs around them only grew louder.

"He looks like a lunatic to me."

Alyssa concealed the glimmer of satisfaction in her eyes before immediately stepping forward to support Justin. "How''s your injury Mr. Justin? I''m medically trained. Let me administer some first aid before the ambnce arrives."

"Thank you, Lyse." Justin smiled warmly as usual, leaning against her.

From behind, the two of them looked like an intimate couple-a sight that was painful for Jasper to witness. He turned away and dragged his feet as he left the hall.

"Are you alright, Mr. Jasper?" Xavier hurried over, sweat beading on his forehead. "I heard you got into closebat with an assant. Can''t you stay away from sharp objects? You scared me half to death!"

    "I''m fine."

Jasper suddenly frowned and slowly raised his hand. He had been so focused on Alyssa that he''d only just noticed the deep cut across his palm, left by the assant''s de.

"Oh my goodness, you''re bleeding badly! I''m taking you to the hospital right now!" Xavier cried anxiously.

    "I''m fine," Jasper repeated.

"Earlier, I heard the man using

Justin of being a murderer and Ms.

    Alyssa a bed thoughtfully, "Taakes

    of being his aplice." "Looks

    Xavier added

like the truth is finallying out. Justin''s past won''t stay buried for much longer."

"Alyssa was deliberately drawing the truth out of him," he continued. "She was worried this might be hisst chance to speak publicly. I could tell what she was doing."

Jasper clenched his fists, his gaze

dark and grim. "The authorities have him now, but that doesn''t mean he''s safe if I were Justine''d silence fwere him-whether he was telling the truth or not. We need to stay alert over the next few days."
