    Alec was at a loss for words to describe Fiona''s carefree nature.


    He said, "You should have at least thought to check out the nearby convenience stores around the school first."

    Fiona grabbed Alec''s arm and dragged him towards the convenience store.


    Alec, with no choice, followed right behind her.


    In no time, they found themselves at the entrance of the store.


    The shopkeeper was busy handing out items from behind the ss counter to a stream of students.


    One particr snack, wrapped in an elegant package with various colors, caught Fiona''s eye. It was called "Dream Drops."


    The tagline read: "Want to ace your exams? Eat Dream Drops."


    "Shopkeeper, give us two packs! I want the pink one!"


    Fiona was instantly drawn to the pink packaging.


    Alec cast an incredulous nce at Fiona beside him.


    "Pink?"


    Alec was almost amused by her pickiness. "Seriously, you even have a preference?"


    "Sorry, we''re out of pink, but boys usually prefer the blue," the shopkeeper said, cing two packs of the blue-wrapped snacks in front of Fiona and Alec.


    "That''ll be fifty altogether."


    "Twenty-five per pack? That''s so pricey! What are these candies made of?"


    Fiona was surprised.


    You couldn''t find candy for twenty-five dors a pack anywhere else in the city.


    And they weren''t even a brand name.


    "We buy them for twenty, and twenty-five is already cheap. If you don''t want them, there are plenty of others who do. Don''t waste my time, the shopkeeper retorted.


    After all, the students at Seabay High School were all from wealthy families, and


    the shopkeeper was used to catering to them.


    If someone couldn''t afford twenty-five dors, they probably didn''t belong to a wealthy family.


    Fiona was about to argue further,


    but Alec had already tossed a hundred-dor bill on the counter, 9, "Four packs, let''s take them and go."


    Seeing the money, the shopkeeper politely handed over four packs.


    Business was business, and paying customers were always wee.


    As Fiona followed Alec out of the store, she grumbled, "Why did you pay him? Couldn''t we just take them?"
