This novel has officially wrapped up today. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this book on its journey.
Writing this novel was a year-long adventure, and I often found myself torn about whether to stick with the ending I initially envisioned.
Before the big finale, I had nned for a tragic conclusion.
Here''s a glimpse of the original tragic ending. Take it lightly, and feel free to skip if you''d rather not dive into it.
In the original ending: Gordon, weakened from his rebirth, gradually fell into ill health and passed away. Jenna was kidnapped, and both she and Adler met their demise at Wesley''s hands.
Colby, Griffin, and Odie took a stand against The Silent Shadows. With
reinforcements nowhere in sight, Griffin and Odie carved out a bloody escape for Colby.
In their sacrifice, Griffin and Odie lost their lives.
In a pivotal moment, Jamesid down his life, granting Colby precious time.
Colby faced Reece alone but was overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
When Sophie arrived, Colby was barely hanging on, unable to say a word to her.
The reinforcements finally subdued the remaining members of The Silent Shadows. Driven by grief, Sophie picked up Colby''s knife and lunged at Reece, indifferent to her own safety.
Even though Sophie was no match for Reece, there was still a flicker ofpassion in Reece''s heart for her.
As Wesley aimed to shoot Sophie, Reece instinctively shielded her from the bullet.
In the aftermath of losing her friends and love, Sophie assassinated Wesley. Crushed by sorrow, she remembered Gordon''s parting words: "The road ahead is yours alone, but don''t be afraid; I''ll always be with you."
Simultaneously, memories of Gordon''s teachings, Colby''sbat lessons, and joyful times with friends like Adler and Jenna flooded her mind.
In the end, Sophie struck down Wesley but copsed from exhaustion.
When she came to, Sophie thought it had all been a nightmare, only to face the harsh truth.
From William, she learned she was pregnant, confirming Gordon''s prophecy that while the journey changed, the oue remained the same.
Gordon sumbed to illness, and she was destined to die fromplications on the operating table.
The final chapter, titled "Rebirth,"
saw
Alec entrusting themet
Sophie giving birth to Fiona and
and
Sandy, bringing the story to its close.
In this tale, many main characters carried their own burdens.
Odie wasn''t just a tormentor; he manipted the entire Mintons, engaging in shady dealings for years, causing many deaths.
Yet, his painful past shaped hister cruelty.
Odie''s journey to redemption began with a change of heart towards Sophie, whose words touched his core.
His cold demeanor slowly melted, bing more human, but it was toote for redemption.
During the Battle of Dawn, Odie sacrificed himself to atone for his past and prevent The Silent Shadows from further harm.
Griffin spent much of his life as a cold-blooded killer until Elodie sparked a change in him.
Jenna drove her father to his death in her quest for revenge for her mother and the Dennis Group.
James killed Nichole and was deeply entwined in numerous illicit activities.
Colby''s life was defined by vengeance until Sophie entered the picture.
The initial tragic ending was intended to illustrate a personal
have consequences,
and rewinding life might not lead to
a better oue.
Someone forced into wrongdoing, even if repentant, ultimately faces their regrets.
Finally, remember that life isn''t
always smooth sailing. Focus on
being true to yourself, rather than
being swayed by others'' opinions.
Chase your dreams and be the
person you want to be.
In life, you might be a parent, child, employee, boss, or spouse, but always keep
sight of who you are. Don''t lose yourself in any single role.
