“Grandma has a great-granddaughter now, and seven great-grandsons, making nine grandchildren in total. Only the ninth one is still single, but Grandma isn’t worried about him. You all help Grandma look after him.”


    Serenity protested, “Grandma, I don’t like talking about these things. Let’s not talk about it anymore.”


    “Alright, alright, we won’t talk about it anymore,”


    the olddy said indulgently.


    The two walked and talked, Serenity ncing around every now and then, looking for Zachary and the children.


    “Mommy, Great-Grandma!”


    Bei Bei’s voice called out.


    Finally, they found the group of little ones.


    Zachary hadn’t taken them fishing; the oldest was only a little over six years old, and such young children wouldn’t have the patience to fish quietly.


    He had taken the children to the amusement park and bought them kites, one for each of them.


    Zachary was helping his daughter fly her kite when the little girl saw her mother and great-grandmother arrive. She even abandoned the kite, leaving her father and the kite behind, and ran towards her mother.


    “I thought they were fishing, but they’re just flying kites,”


    Serenityughed.


    “It’s windy today, perfect for flying kites. Seeing other kids flying kites made me think, we didn’t buy any, so we brought some with us.”


    “Ah Yin bought some for the kids.”


    After saying that, the olddy let go of Serenity’s hand, took a few quick steps forward, and picked up her great-granddaughter who rushed over.


    Beibei’s little face was flushed, probably from running around to fly the kite.


    “Look at you, you’re all sweaty.”


    The olddy took out a tissue to wipe the sweat from Beibei’s forehead. “Are you hot? Do you want to take off your coat?”


    Beibei replied, “Yes, I want to take off my coat, but Daddy won’t let me.”


    After wiping her sweat, the olddy put her down and said, “You’re all sweaty, don’t take it off yet, you can take it offter.”


    “Great-Grandma, the kite! Daddy bought a kite.”


    “That’s Beibei’s kite. Great-Grandma, look how high it flies, how pretty it is.”


    Beibei pointed to the kite her father was holding. “That’s Beibei’s kite. Beibei can’t fly it, so Daddy is helping Beibei fly it.”


    The olddy and Serenity led Beibei back to Zachary’s side.


    Several children immediately gathered around, each wanting the olddy to see their kites. The olddy praised each of their kites for flying well.


    After Zachary helped his daughter fly the kite, he handed her the other end of the kite string and said to the olddy, “Grandma, it’s a bit sunny. Let’s go sit under a tree.”


    “No, let’s go back. It’s not far from here. Let’s take Xiaoya back to the mountain resort.”


    The olddy looked at the children’s kite in flight. “Let the children y for a few more minutes, then we’ll go back. They can fly kites just as well back at the mountain resort. They have ymates, so they’ll be happy ying anywhere.”


    Usually, only Beibei is home, and it takes a lot of effort to y with her. When no one ys with her, she gets bored and cries for her mother.


    With ymates, she won’t even look for her mother if she doesn’t see her for a whole day.
