Married at First Sight [On-Going]
Romina shot River a sharp look.
She was getting irritated.
It was clear he wasn''t taking the blind date seriously. He hadn''t even tried to talk
to Marissa.
Not only that, but he kept focusing all his attention on her—smiling, chatting,
serving her food.
Didn''t he realize how that might look?
That girl was going to think he liked her. Ugh—what a jerk.
River, being River, didn''t stop. When Romina red at him, he just stood up,
leaned across the table, and lightly tapped her on the forehead.
“Romina, you look way too serious when you re like that. I still prefer seeing
you smile.” Romina pped his hand away and stood abruptly, her face cold.
“River,e outside. I need to talk to you.”
River smiled calmly. “Can''t we talk in here?” Romina ignored him and walked out.
[Finnest]
With no choice, River followed.
Marissa hadn''t gotten the chance to say even two words to River from the
beginning.
He hadn''t looked at her once.
As she watched the two of them leave, she gave a bitter smile.
Why had the vice president set her up on a date with President York?
From the way he acted, it was obvious he liked Romina.
Marissa hade for a blind date, but it ended up just being a free meal.
River clearly wasn''t interested in her.
Sigh.
She picked up the serving chopsticks and helped herself to two expensive dishes
she usually couldn''t afford.
She had just started working, and her sry wasn''t high enough to eat at ces
like this.
She''d heard the food at Eaglioncile Hotel was amazing and the service top-notch.
This was her first time eating here—might as well enjoy it.
The date was a bust, but at least she could eat well.
To be honest, she hadn''t expected much from this blind date anyway.
President York was just... too perfect.
There was no way a woman like her could catch his eye.
He clearly liked the vice president.
And honestly, they made a beautiful pair.
Even if they were so-called “mortal enemies.”
Maybe one day they''d go from enemies to lovers.
Once Marissa epted that, she just focused on eating, tuning out whatever was
happening outside.
Luckily, she only had a small crush on River—it wasn''t anything deep.
After today, she''d tell the other girls at work who admired him to let it go. River
wasn''t interested in any of them.
Outside, Romina led River to the far end of the hallway before spinning around
and scolding him.
“River, you did this on purpose, didn''t you? You never nned to take this blind
date seriously. If you didn''t want to go through with it, you should''ve said so! Do
you know how much effort I put into arranging this?
I went through so much just to set this up, and look what you did. You ignored the
girl, didn''t talk to her, and then you kept acting so sweet and considerate to me.
Are you trying to make her misunderstand our rtionship?”
River didn''t argue. He wasn''t angry at all. Instead, he responded gently.
“Romina, calm down. Don''t get upset before eating—it''ll ruin your appetite. Food
You should enjoy your meal and stay in a good mood—that''s how you stay
healthy. And seeing how much weight you''ve losttely... well, it really worries
me.”
