    Chapter 2437

"Ahhh!" Ian screamed in terror, curling up under the car seat.

It was not that he was a coward. In fact, he was quite courageous.

However, who in their right mind could stayposed in a scene like this?

Following Justin meant he never had to worry about starving, but it also meant living on the edge, constantly walking a tightrope.

If this continued, he might as well start carrying anxiety medication at all times.

Justin''s strong frame shielded Dr. Wagner beneath him.

He understood the truth. These attackers were targeting the witness, aiming to eliminate anything that could be used against them. If they could take him down in the process, or at least seriously injure him, it would be an unexpected bonus.

It was a vicious and ruthless move.

Dr. Wagner muttered prayers under his breath, reciting the rosary at an increasingly frantic pace. The man protecting him seemed to have a strength that surpasses that of a god.

"Keep your heads down! The arrows can pierce ss, but they cannot prate the car body," Justinmanded, his forehead damp with cold sweat.

The rapid sound of projectiles hitting the vehicle created an unnerving rhythm. The cacophony sent Justin''s mind racing back to his years on the battlefield in Kridor, where he had outwitted and battled terrorists.

Those fiery memories, full of bloodshed and survival, surged through him.

His eyes lit up with a fierce resolve. His blood pumped faster, boiling with adrenaline and an indomitable fighting spirit.

After five or six relentless minutes, the barrage ceased.

However, the car was immobilized. A t tire meant they could no longer flee. There was only one option left. They had to fight their way out.

    "Ian, protect him."

The moment Justin spoke, he burst from the vehicle like an arrow released from a bow. The car door swung open, and heunched himself into the fray.

There were more than a dozen men waiting outside. Without any hesitation, they closed in while brandishing their machetes, their eyes glinting with malice. Their snarling faces resembled a pack of wolves surrounding a lone lion.

Justin stood tall, his expression unyielding. Beneath the tailored suit, his muscr frame tensed, each fiber of his being coiled like a spring ready to unleash. His fists clenched, emitting audible cracks as his knuckles whitened.

It was clear to him now-Dr. Wagner was just a bonus. Undoubtedly orchestrated by Grant, the real goal of these attackers was to eliminate him.

This was an ambush to kill him.

Without a weapon at hand, Justin grabbed a ck umbre from the car door. He weighed it

in his hands, before nodding in satisfaction.

    "Attack!" One of the menmanded.

The group surged forward like a tidal wave.

Justin''s eyes burned with a light that cut through the darkness. His grip tightened around the umbre, veins bulging with raw power. In a sh, he charged head-on, and the narrow alley exploded with the sounds ofbat.

Inside the car, Ian shakily pulled out his phone. Just as he was about to call the police, his phone rang. The caller ID showed it was from Asher.

"Young Master Asher!" Ian answered, his voice cracking with desperation. "Please, save our boss! He''s surrounded by more than a dozen men wielding machetes. It''s so scary!"

"Don''t panic. I''m already on my way," Asher replied calmly. "Be asked me to help."

It turned out that Ryan had been uneasy about letting Justin escort the witness alone. He immediately reached out to Be, expressing his worries.

Although Be was preupied, she promptly contacted Asher, who enlisted Drew to assist. They had followed Justin''s route but encountered a major car ident caused by a truck, blocking their way. Forced to detour, they temporarily lost track of their target. Thankfully, they managed to reconnect.

After providing their location, Ian hung up. He secured the car doors and prayed silently. As he did, a relentless pounding on the car''s exterior kept his nerves on edge. Suddenly, a machete shattered the window, narrowly missing his head as it flew past.

Ian froze in fear. Trembling, he unlocked his phone and opened a chat with his girlfriend.
