Through the eyes of my alpha Chapter 59
NADIA FLASHBACK TWO DAYS AFTER I FIRST MET ZAHRA. She invited me to her home. Her two
daughters were in school – they were attending sses at a university nearby and wouldn’t be home
untilter that day. Her mate, on the other hand, was at work, so it was just us. We were standing by
the door of the storage room in the basement of their house.
She told me she wanted to show me everything she kept for Riley.
And my eyes couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
There were tons of gift-wrapped boxes for almost all asions.
The gifts were neatly ced on shelves, except for those that were too big and were standing on the
floor.

written in there.

I even sent it to my parents so they could give it to him and begged them to present it as their gift to

I was wishing Melvin didn’t return those, so I would think Riley got them, but I think he wanted me to be
miserable.
Each and every one of these reminded me that I no longer existed in his life.
All a painful reminder and yet I kept them.
” “Riley would be devastated if he found out all about this.
” “It’s useless now.
But I still couldn’t find it in my heart to throw them away.
” “I wish I could help you, Zahra.
But Riley didn’t want me either, so…” I turned around and face her.
“That is actually why I invited you here.
I was hoping you would tell me why you are not with him.
” I took a deep breath because I had no idea what I should be telling her.
I didn’t even know why I was here and not with him.
She wrapped an arm around me and pulled me to her side as we walked down the stairs to the main
house.
“Does it have something to do with Andrea?
” My head snapped to her side as my eyes rounded.
How did she know about her?
She guided me to sit down at the dining table before she went to one of the cabs and took out a
folder and sat beside me.
“A year ago, I felt something snap, and since I was with my husband, I knew it was nothing to do with
him.
So I traveled to see if it had something to do with Riley or Melvin.
I found out Melvin died, and I was convinced the bond that snapped was the Alphamand that he
gave me.
I was finally free to see my son.
But I didn’t go to see him.
Instead, I hired a detective to find out things about him.
I missed all of his life and I wanted to have something to tell him when I saw him.
It was then that I found out how much he hated me.
That he avoided females of the Alpha lineage.
He doesn’t trust Alpha Females and that he has chosen Andrea to be his mate.
” My heart clenched at the mention of Andrea’s name.
Zahra opened the folder and pictures of Riley and Andrea popped out.
“Those were taken a year ago.
Andrea was still in a boarding school, and Riley would often visit her.
And I thought maybe she was her fated mate, only for the detective to tell me that she was only
seventeen.
It was like history being repeated.
” Her hand reached for mine before she continued.
“Please tell me he didn’t reject you for a Chosen?
” I shook my head, and relief washed over her face.
“Andrea found her mate and they parted ways.
She was already out of the picture when I came.
” I didn’t want to tell her more about Andrea because it wasn’t my story to tell.
“Oh, Goddess, thank you!
” A real smile was etched on her lips as she squeezed my hand.
“So I think whatever is going on between the two of you, it can be fixed.
Right?
” “I don’t know.
If he wanted me back, he should have found me by now.
” “Did you feel anything if he had been intimate with someone?
” I shook my head again, “I don’t know my own son, but I think he’s an idiot if he lets you go.
Well, he is already, right?
” She giggled, and I couldn’t help but giggle as well.
“I don’t even know why he got mad and asked me to leave.
I was guessing he thought I was with someone, but I have never been out of his sight or his men’s sight
since we got together.
So maybe he just got tired of me.
” “I don’t think so.
He has the power to reject you.
If he didn’t want you, he could have easily done it and moved on.
Maybe it’s better this way.
Let him think and I’m sure he won’t be able to fight the mate bond pull and wille looking for you.
And while he thinks things over, do not for a second think you are at fault.
Misunderstanding happens, it’s the way you react to it that makes a difference.
” I smiled at her words because she was right, both I and Riley really needed to work on our anger
issues.
“But while you’re here, I will make sure that you’ll enjoy your stay.
Why don’t you move in with us?
” END OF FLASHBACK I smiled at the memory of her inviting me to move in.
And even if I didn’t move in, I spent most of my free time with her and her lovely family.
I met her mate, Leandro, as well as their twin daughters, Be and Ellie.
And they never once made me feel like I was an outsider.
Leandro evenined that he was further being outnumbered by my presence and would joke that
he needed Riley so at least he could have someone who he couldin to.
A pang of pain crossed my heart when Riley’s name came up in my memory.
I spent the whole morning just rolling and lounging in my bed.
I was toozy to get up and didn’t have any appetite to eat at all.
It was only when my stomachined that I forced myself to eat, but even then, the food tasted
nd, which was strange because omelets have always been my favorite and I cooked them the way I
wanted them.
But then I guess I was just missing Riley too much today that nothing felt right.
“Nadia!
” A small, sweet voice snapped me out of my thoughts as little Lottie ran toward me and mmed her
little body on my legs as she hugged me.
Lottie, a four-year-old girl, lived in the apartment next to mine with her mother, and I had babysat her a
couple of times in thest month when her mother would go on date nights.
Iughed before I scooped her off the ground and hugged her before she started tickling my neck.
She particrly loved my mark, and I told her they were birthmarks, which she and her mother seemed
to ept and never question.
“Hey, Lottie!
I miss you!
” I greeted her back.
“Me too, Nadia.
Can we y?
” She wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly.
“I have to meet some friends, but we can yter once I’m home.
That sounds like fun, right?
“I told her and she pouted her small, red lips before she nodded her head.
I handed her back to her mother, who was smiling at us, and after a small talk with her, I went ahead to
where I was heading, I didn’t have work today, and I was meeting Zahra.
She was about to introduce me to the new owner of the boutique a few blocks from the restaurant
where I was working.
She said the new owner is human but mated to a shifter like us, although they didn’t have a kid of their
own.
I kept walking and was enjoying the breeze as it yed with my hair and waved to people who were
greeting me along the way.
I was just three blocks away from the boutique I was heading to when Arrow started pacing around in
my head.
She seemed agitated, but she didn’t know why either.
Goosebumps started to rise from my skin and made me stop in my tracks.
I spun my head around to look at the surroundings.
I felt like someone was watching me, but there was nothing unusual.
‘Arrow, is Riley here?
’ I asked my wolf, but she couldn’t tell either.
She couldn’t sense Hunter, but she said an Alpha wolf could hide their presence if they wanted to.

I took one more scan of the area, but everyone was lost in their own world, not minding me at all, and
my heart continued to thud loudly.
Someone found me.
I hope that if there was really someone watching me, that it was my mate.
Because if someone else found me, it might only mean danger.

Alpha dies.
So she can touch Riley now.

The rejection is basically just aplete name and they’re just using the title to make it dramatic (lol!
) but either way, his fated mate would have sensed his Alpha aura but still had no idea of which Pack
he belonged to.
