    “Daisy, Liam.” Hazel called, walking to where her kids had been sitting moments ago. The balcony was


    now empty. They were gone.


    “Nathan, have you seen the kids?” Hazel asked, turning to him.


    They were here just now, watching people arrive,” he replied. He had left them there for a moment to


    get water, and now they were nowhere to be seen. The two stood looking around.


    “Where could they have gone?” Hazel asked, feeling confused.


    “You don’t think they headed to the venue, right?” Nathan asked.


    The venue?” Hazel questioned.


    “Today’s the hospital fundraiser; they’ve been perched here for some time now, watching guests


    arrive,” Nathan replied. Hazel sighed.


    “They could be downstairs,” Nathan mused thoughtfully.


    “They shouldn’t be there,” Hazel stated worriedly.


    The event would be teeming with people, it was no ce for children.


    “I’ll go find them.” Nathan offered.


    “Thank you,” she replied with a smile.


    Be’s calm moment was interrupted suddenly. A little girl ran into her tousling her ss of wine all


    over her white dress.


    Be’s anger erupted into a fiery disy as she shouted in frustration, “You cheeky little brat!” Her fury


    transformed into a physical manifestation as she fiercely grabbed Daisy by the cheek, grabbing and


    twisting it tightly, earning a sharp cry from the young girl. The atmosphere cr ackled with tension.


    “Oww, that hurts!” Daisy’s painful cry echoed through the narrow space.

    intensified, and she berated her, “Look at what you did!” The little girl whimpered in pain, unable to

    had finally found the twins, only to be met with a sight that fueled a burning anger within him. The


    scene unfolding before him was beyond his expectations, and an overwhelming desire to protect the


    children surged through him.

    Liam admitted, “And then I bit her.”


    Liam head was bowed as he admitted feeling remorse.


    “It’s okay, buddy. You don’t have to apologize,” Ethan reassured, ruffling Liam’s little head gently.


    “You were protecting your sister,” he stated.


    Ethan having heard everything was visibly enraged. He stood then turned his attention back to Be.


    “That was why you hurt her?” He demanded. The gentle probing voice he had used for Liam took a

    “I didn’t hit them, Be replied, fear evident in her voice as Ethan’s piercing gaze bore into her, a storm


    brewing in his eyes, threatening to unleash at any moment.


    “Liam, let’s go,” Nathan urged, sensing the escting tension in the room he tried to lead them out.

    Ethan’s eyes widened in shock as the realization struck him. “Did she do this?” he demanded, the

    Her eyes widened in shock, and disbelief etched across her face.

    “Ethan?” she called, her voice quivering with uncertainty.


    “Axel,” he called, turning to his assistant instead.


    “Have someone drive her home,” he ordered, his tone unwavering. “Right now.”


    Be stared at Ethan, tears welling in her eyes, threatening to spill. She felt betrayed and mistreated,


    her voice trembled as she asked, “Why are you hurting me over those nobodies?”


    Ignoring her, walked over to where Daisy was, still hugging Nathan’s neck.


    “I’m sorry.” Ethan apologized to Daisy, his voice filled with remorse. The sight of her bruised cheeks


    made him sad, his eyes lingering on the spot for some time.


    Ethan stared at them for a while, realizing that with Nathan being here, Hazel was also close by. He


    knew he had to keep and maintain his distance.


    “Let’s go,” Nathan said finally, leading Daisy and Liam away while and Ethan watched as they were


    escorted out from his sight.


    This way, ma’am,” the driver said politely, directing Be away.


    Without another nce, Ethan turned back into the hall as a stunned Be was led away.
