The explosion tore through the silence, the reinforced door ripping free from its frame and hurtling through the air. It was so heavy that when it crashed to the ground, the sheer force splintered the concrete beneath it, sending debris and heavy dust flying around blurring the surroundings.
Creak!
Crank!
The echoes of twisting metal and falling debris faded, reced by the eerie stillness of whaty beyond.
"Move! Move!!!"
The man at the front shoved his team forward, urgency in his voice as they stormed inside to raid the entire building.
The moment they entered, their weapons were already raised, fingers poised over the triggers, eyes scanning every corner with sharp precision. Their expressions were a chilling reflection of Leo’s—cold, ruthless, and focused.
The reinforced door hadn’t just been blown open—it had taken out the men stationed behind it, sending them crashing to the ground in a dazed heap.
They never expected their so-called fortified entrance to be reduced to scrap metal so easily. Their n had been simple—stay low, act like no one was inside, and let Leo’s men assume the building was abandoned.
This was their usual tactic—a simple yet effective deception. Only those in the know were aware of this ce, so they relied on this trick to keep themselves offw enforcement’s radar.
They had assumed it would work just as well under Leo’s watch.
They were wrong.
And reality hit them hard.
Before they could even react, before a single rm could be raised—they were already being taken down.
Leo followed closely behind his men, gripping his Desert Eagle. However, the opposing force wasn’t about to go down without a fight. The moment Leo’s men breached their territory, gunfire erupted, the deafening shots echoing through the alleyway.
The sudden gunfight sent the nearby residents into panic mode, prompting frantic calls to the police.
But in this part of the city, the mafia had the police in their pocket. The authorities stalled, buying time—allowing both sides to exchange relentless gunfire.
Leo wasn’t idle either. Anyone who crossed his line of sight met a swift end.
Bang!
A man emerged from the shadows at the edge of Leo’s vision—but before he could even raise his gun, Leo’s bullet found its mark, piercing straight through his forehead. The lifeless body copsed instantly.
Leo’s men didn’t even flinch. They were used to him moving like the king of hell, his sharpshooting and lightning-fast reflexes second nature by now. In truth, Leo could have cleared this entire building on his own—if not for Terry insisting on tagging along and bringing additional forces for the raid.
After all, Leo wasn’t supposed to be exerting himself right now.
"Sir, please take it easy..." Terry started to say as he ducked beside Leo, trying to stay out of the enemy’s line of fire while also ensuring he wasn’t a hindrance. He knew he couldn’t leave Leo alone—if he did, the man would only be even more reckless.
But before Terry could finish his sentence, Leo shot him a sharp re. That single look was enough to shut him up. If he said one more word, he had a feeling Leo might shoot him instead.
Terry immediately mped a hand over his mouth. "I-I’ll shut up now," he muttered, before kicking away the man beside him who was trying to use him as cover from the flying bullets.
Leo took advantage of Terry’s distraction and moved further into enemy territory, leaving him behind. By the time Terry noticed, Leo was already several feet away. His heart nearly leaped out of his chest, and just as he scrambled to his feet—
Swish!
A bullet whizzed past the tip of his nose, grazing the skin and leaving a stinging red line with a trickle of blood. But Terry had no time to worry about such a minor injury. His real concern was Leo, who was charging ahead on his own again.
Cursing under his breath, Terry bolted after him, weaving through the hail of bullets. Meanwhile, Leo returned fire with deadly precision, each shot finding its mark without fail.
"Sir! Please wait for me!" Terry almost shouted as he rolled across the ground, dodging bullets with a mix of desperation and sheer luck.
His movements were so erratic—diving, flipping, and twisting—that it almost looked intentional. The other men watched in astonishment, half-impressed and half-baffled at how he managed to evade the hail of bullets without getting hit.
Meanwhile, Leo moved with the grace and coolness of an action star, his every motion calcted and deadly. With effortless precision, he leaped forward, firing coolly in midair.
He kicked one enemy behind the knee, forcing him to copse on the ground, then ended him with a single bullet to the skull.
Before another man could react, Leo drove his foot into his ribs, making him stumble. Without hesitation, he pressed the barrel of his gun under the man’s chin and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Blood sttered across Leo’s face, but he didn’t so much as flinch.
Leo continued his killing spree until the entire building fell silent, the air thick with the suffocating stench of blood. The enclosed space reeked of death, making it almost unbearable.
Even Terry, hardened as he was, couldn’t take it—he bolted outside and vomited against the wall, his body convulsing from the overwhelming nausea.
Leo followed behind him at a leisurely pace, unfazed by the carnage. As if none of it fazed him, he calmly issued his orders. "Clean up this mess. Bring back the leader alive for interrogation. Make sure he talks—get every location and name he mentions." His voice was as cold and sharp as the gun still clutched in his hand.
Without another nce at the blood-soaked scene, Leo climbed into the car and waited. Terry, still pale and unsteady, finally dragged himself inside, looking utterly miserable.
Meanwhile, Leo,pletely unbothered, peeled off his leather gloves—now soaked in blood—and casually tossed them toward Terry.
The gloves smacked Terry right in the face just as he turned to look at Leo. The fresh scent of blood hit him with full force, sending another wave of nausea rolling through him.
"Ugh—!" He barely managed to hold it in.
Leo smirked, utterly entertained.
"Uweh!" Terry gagged, nearly vomiting right there in the car. He mped a hand over his mouth, his face contorting in pure disgust as he struggled to keep the bile from spilling out.
Swallowing hard, he forced himself to regain control and pushed the bile back into his stomach, taking a few shaky breaths to steady his stomach.
With a grimace, he peeled the bloody gloves off his face, holding them between his fingertips like they were toxic. Without a word, he grabbed a ziplock bag from thepartment, stuffed the gloves inside, and sealed it tight before shoving it away forter disposal.
He exhaled sharply, already making a mental note to have the entire car deep-cleaned—every inch scrubbed, disinfected, and deodorized. Thest thing he wanted was even the faintest trace of blood lingering in the vehicle.
After steadying himself, Terry sent a quick message to their cleanup crew, confirming that the captured leader was being transported to the safe house for interrogation. He wanted to ensure everything was running smoothly while he focused on escorting Leo back to the vi.
However, Leo suddenly hesitated. His first instinct was to head straight to Hera, but he knew better. If he saw her now, there was no way he’d be able to resist pulling her into his arms. And if he did that, he’d undoubtedly expose himself. It was safer to keep his distance for the time being.
With a sigh, he pulled out his phone and opened social media, thinking he might as well check in and help manage Hera’s fan page.
