However, Zhane was already aware of who was coborating with the Lennons in this fiasco, which would inevitably throw his entire n into disarray and attract scrutiny.
While they had close ties to the Carsons, he knew that those connections wouldn’t shield them once the drugs they supplied to their own hospital began exhibiting severe side effects due to the cheaper herbs used in their formtion—or worse, resulted in patient fatalities.
But since he already knew who was behind the trouble, it became easier for him to address the situation.
"I had my aunt’s assistance," Zhane exined briefly.
"Did you trick your aunt into selling out her own husband, or does she not realize that she justpromised him by giving you that document?" Dave asked, skepticismcing his tone.
He couldn’t believe it had been that easy for Zhane to obtain the original copy of the financial records.
Unfortunately for Zhane, while his family enjoyed significant sess, their achievements often overshadowed others and bred resentment, especially among the greedy.
His aunt’s husband had been promoted to the head of the purchasing department to prove himself, he was given this position so he would have the choice to.
However, instead of proving hispetence and dispelling the fear of being looked down upon, he ended up making a fool of himself, inviting mockery and disdain.
His greed overshadowed any sense of ability he might have had. He was like a leech, insatiable and consuming so much that he risked bursting from his gluttony.
"All I did was show her a video," Zhane said, his stern and somber expression shifting into a mischievous grin.
"Well, that’s a first!" Dave joked, stepping aside to make a call to someone at the bureau. He intended to initiate a surprise investigation at Everett Hospital, using a tip-off as a pretext.
Dave nned to reference a fictitious patient who experienced severe side effects from the medications provided by the hospital.
After finishing his call, Dave turned to Zhane again. "But buddy, given how things are unfolding, your hospital is bound to face some bacsh. What’s your n for handling that?"
"No matter what actions I take, bacsh is inevitable," Zhane replied. "But this time, at least, everything is under my control, and we won’t be caught off guard. It’s better this way; we can cut our losses in time." A hint of ruthlessness colored his tone.
Even Dave shuddered at Zhane’s words, realizing that neither Zhane’s uncle nor the Lennon family woulde out unscathed.
It was clear that Zhane intended to ensure everyone was aware of their impending downfall.
They might not just cripple the Lennons but pull them down entirely with this, but that also meant that the Everett will suffer greatly.
As the six of them began discussing their ns and expectations for the uing week, none noticed that Hera had slightly opened her eyes. It was unclear when she had woken up or whether she had ever truly fallen asleep, as she may have been silently giving them space to discuss the matter at hand.
Now that she was aware of their ns, a slight smirk yed on her lips before she closed her eyes once more.
When she opened them again, it was morning, and everyone was still sprawled across the bed.
The sight of the big men crammed together wasical, despite Dave’s king-sized bed; it still wasn’t quite big enough to amodate all of themfortably.
Hera attempted to shift on the bed and noticed that, despite the cramped space, all of them had made an effort to create arger area for her so she wouldn’t be squished between them.
It allowed her to sleepfortably while they struggled to find room.
Dave’s arm was sprawled across Rafael’s face, making it difficult for him to breathe.
Rafael tried to nudge it away a few times, but each time, Dave simply hugged him tighter.
Startled awake, Rafael sat up in bed, his bleary eyes narrowing with irritation. He slowly turned to his side, where Davey sprawled, and for a moment, he seemed to contemte whether to strangle him or outright kill him for disturbing his sleep.
Hera noticed Rafael’s expression, and it was clear his temper was ring.
Instead of feeling intimidated, she couldn’t help but chuckle; she found both Rafael and Dave endearing in their own way.
Maybe she had a few loose screws for thinking so, but regardless, she had enjoyed a good night’s sleep and was thoroughly amused by the morning’s antics.
Her melodious chuckle drew Rafael’s bleary eyes into focus, transforming his initially murderous gaze into something gentle when he saw Hera looking back at him. "Good morning, baby," he said, his voice low and husky, exuding a sexy charm that sent a flutter through Hera’s stomach.
’I feel like my ears are getting pregnant,’ Hera thought, smiling sweetly at Rafael.
One by one, the others began to stir awake, with Dave being thest to rise. He looked as if he had spent the night at a friend’s house, blissfully enjoying his sleep. If it weren’t for Rafael kicking him off the bed, he might have continued snoozing.
"Motherfucker! Who pushed me off the bed?!" Dave’s angry roar echoed through the room, but no one answered; they all pretended not to have seen anything.
"Didn’t you fall on your own? Are you still dreaming?" Leo teased as he stirred and pulled Hera closer, murmuring, "Good morning, wifey," before nting a kiss on her cheek.
"Good morning, everyone," Hera replied, giggling at the sight of them all getting along so well. It was heartwarming and made her feel amazing to witness such closeness as soon as she woke up.
